"BED BUGS" BEWARE Worst stay ever. We had 4 rooms for a family reunion. 1st we got there and the bed was not made in 2 of the 4 rooms. So they had to come and change them. 2nd pull out bed had no sheets on the shelf so I went down and ask for some. The girl at the desk didn't understand so she had to come to the room so I could show her. Then she finally got it. 3rd I started to make the fold out bed when I found a bug 1st one was not a bed bug. The other bug that I saw go into the hole in the mattress was one. Went downstairs to talk to my brother-in-law who said he had also found some. He then inspected the other rooms and confirmed that they all had bed bugs in the room. Oh almost forgot pulled the window shade to look out the window and it fell down. Plus the window had a very nice view but had all kinds of bird shit on it. read more

Chose this hotel as it was close to the lake and looked like it might have a nice view. It did. That's about the only positive. Well I take that back, it was right next door to an ice cream place. The hotel is old and looks are outdated. Pool area was nice with seating outdoors where you could sit, eat and view the lake. There is a $100 incidental charge. When I woke up the next morning there was an additional $100 on my debit card. I questioned the front desk and got absolutely NOWHERE! No one could answer any questions and had difficulty articulating English as well which is very frustrating. I'm not rich so to hold $200 made me irate. I asked how to get ahold of a manager and was told that he only works from home. Wtf. I dont think that's a work from home job. The money was held all weekend so I wasn't able to do other things that I had planned on doing! Also on a side not the toilet paper is awful and will break off in your butt while you're trying to wipe. Seriously cheap! Also not enough parking. read more

Overall, this hotel is 2 stars. I'm giving it 2.5 stars because the front desk guy was nice at check in and the beds are comfortable. It is an extremely old hotel. The rooms are smallish and have a smoky smell like the typical old hotels. There are no elevators. The bathroom is ok sized. Like I said before, the beds are pretty comfortable and we slept well on them. Breakfast is basically non-existent. There was a half empty container of old scrambled eggs and some tiny sausages. The juice machine did not work. There was no yogurt or eggs or anything. Nobody was at the breakfast counter to ask for help from. The front desk guy was serving as both front desk and breakfast guy. The whole hotel is covered with fishflies. This isn't the hotel's fault but it wasn't pleasant to deal with them as we packed and unpacked our car. Port Clinton has limited choices of hotels, but if you want a nice experience even for one night, I would recommend choosing a different location. read more

Friday, February 27th Quality Inn at Port Clinton OH Tony and I have never been to this area before so we had to rely on reviews on the website while looking for our hotel. So, after reading over tons of reviews, I chose the Quality Inn on Perry Street in Port Clinton Oh This hotel is in a awesome location. The outdoor pool and deck literally butts against the shores of Lake Erie. I booked everything online, blind and I am so glad I found this hotel. Our room was on the second floor #204, and it was gorgeous!! There is a entry area with microwave and refrigerator, branches into narrow area with couch (hideaway bed) table and chairs. The bathroom was awesome, a jacuzzi tub and a second normal tub with shower. Awesome!!! There is a large King bed very very comfortable only thing needed was more pillows!!! There was a nice flat screen TV with about 40 channels via Spectrum Cable and a lovely sunroof area with table and chairs that looked out onto the deck below and the gorgeous stunning lake which was still mainly frozen!!! It was so gorgeous!!! The view stunning!!! I can't wait to go back again!!!! Definitely will go again and highly recommend this hotel to other travelers!!! read more

We just needed a hotel to stay during our weekend trip to Cedar Point Halloweekend. The staff was nice, but I would never stay at this hotel for an extended amount of time or for a relaxing vacation. I see why its a 2 star hotel. There were spider webs and bugs everywhere. I understand its right on the lake but still, yuke. Lucky none got in our room but I'm sure they wanted to. Our room wasn't even properly cleaned and we know this because we found wrappings on the floor. The sheets were clean so we were able to get a good night's rest to stay all day at the park. The free breakfast was subpar. I enjoyed the package oatmeal. read more

While the hotel is on the old side, the room was clean and it was the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was adequate and the front desk employee was pleasant and helpful. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Place was nasty. Kept smelling strong urine smell from shower found old wash cloth stuck in the shower curtain. Nasty hair in tub. Broken toilet seat. A piece of plywood would have been more comfy than the beds. That's not the worst part. They charged my card 180.00 plus a 15.00 service fee that they told me was declined. Which my room was only supposed to be 140.00 which I paid with my other credit card. Called them was supposed to call me back haven't heard a thing from them in a week. We stayed here last night as our trip was last minute. It was older and filthy. It was clear that the housekeeping staff don't move cords in order to vacuum. I killed a spider in the bathroom. I gave this place an extra star for no bed bugs. That's a major plus. The pool is super small but I guess it's understandable because of the off season lasting so long. I wish I had more time to look into other hotels in the area. We paid $200 for one night. This place should never charge more than $100 during a busy season. The breakfast was pretty pathetic as well. It makes me reconsider being Choice Hotel member. This place is a really poor example of this chain. Also, we didn't eat anything in our room and there was a french fry in visible view. New management, perhaps could be needed? read more

Bed bugs!!! I've never in my 40 years seen a bed bug in real life, but on September 18, 2020 we came face to face with the nasty bugs! We called the front desk and the manager from the hotel next door came to our room? Not sure why the hotel was manned by a manager at a different hotel but whatever. Anyway he confirmed that they were in fact bed bugs and brought bags to put our clothing in. We switched rooms at 2 in the morning. He said the manager in the morning would be able to take care of things. At checkout they had to call the manager who talked her through discounting our room.....we STILL had to pay for half of our bug infested room! I have traveled a lot and have never even asked for a discount let alone a free stay. In this situation I don't feel we should have had to pay. I sent management an email and was ignored. I understand the severity of the situation so I tried to call Choice over a week later to get it resolved but they took my info and "will call me back!" I ended up being allergic to the bites and blistered up. Two weeks later I still have raised scabs on my arms and legs. 42 bites in total. Do not stay here. We even checked the bed before we crawled in...they were coming from the pillow. I gave them a 1 star review because I couldn't go forward with a no star review. read more

This was one of the most interesting hotel stays so I'm just going to list things. PROS * no bed bugs * sheets seemed clean * it was only $100 a night * they were open in the off season CONS * the trash had not been taken out * the sink was dirty and had hair in it * the bath tub had soap scum * the bath tub was stained * the bathtub had a 24 inch long black hair in it * the carpets were "stained" * there was dried blood on headboard This motel boasts that they have jacuzzi rooms. At first my husband wanted to try to upgrade, but I ended up deciding I wasn't really interested in paying more. Much to our surprise, there was a large spa - style tub in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the thing was dirty to the point I was worried about getting bacterial infections in my nether regions. There was soap scum, dried on soap, stains and other people's hair in the tub. The sink was also dirty and had hair in it. Now I know many people use motels and not everything in the room is steam cleaned between each guests, however the left over DNA on the carpet should probably be cleaned up sooner rather than later. While the sheets were clean and there were not bed bugs (yes, I checked. I check every hotel), however the mattress smelled like B.O.. The pillows were super soft , but I brought my own from home so I didn't have to use them. We didn't eat breakfast b/c we got up too late on New Years Day. I also decided to stay away from the coffee maker. If the bathroom wasn't cleaned, I wasn't trusting the coffee maker. While I was checking out, the guy in front of me was complaining about his room. Apparently in the actual jacuzzi rooms, there isn't a wall separating the tub from the toilet or the rest of the room, just a couple shower curtains. So there wouldn't have been privacy if you needed to use the toilet. Over all, I am worried about the quality at the Quality Inn. read more

Have stayed here twice before and had been satisfied, however this stay wasn't as pleasant. Upon arriving with 25 temperatures outside, the heat was not even on in our room. It took over and hour and a half for the room to reach 65. First time I've ever experienced a motel not having the room temperature somewhat pre-set. This cold temperature prevented use of the in room jacuzzi. By the time the room warmed, there was no desire to use it. Will second think a return visit. read more

Toilet seat had had HAIR on it, the room freezing, stains on pillows, crunchy sheets, BARKING DOG (dogs not allowed, BTW) and the TV remote doesn't work and we've only been here 10 minutes!! Dirty outdoor furniture. Overflowing outdoor trash cans and cigarette ashtrays. They advertise WIFI but it only works in the lobby, not in the rooms. In the room, non-working microwave and non-working hairdryer. There were spiders , centipedes and other insects. The smell of sewer gas coming from the drains was almost overwhelming. The overall appearance was one of poor maintenance. For the quality, it was very pricey. read more

Im so incredibly disappointed not only about the physical looks of the place but, the complete lack of customer service. We stayed in a king suite with jacuzzi tub. The tub was not clean.i went and bought lysol and bleach to clean it myself and did not complain. We had a beautiful view of the lake and thought it would be nice to sleep with the windows open. 2 hours later when we're getting ready for bed our room had been taken over by all sorts of bugs. I couldn't figure out how they were even getting in them to realize one of our windows did not have a screen and bc it was night time i honestly couldn't tell bc of all the cobwebs outside this particular window. 4 windows in our room, only 1 without a screen. When we go to get in our bed the bugs were under the sheet and everywhere, on pillows. Etc. I could feel bugs crawling on me all night, but too tired to complain or even deal with it. So first thing in the morning around 6 630 I go down to talk to the front desk about it. She calls her manager and has me speak to her over the phone and proceeds to tell me I should have known there was not a screen on a 2nd story window at a hotel. I explain to her im very disappointed in our room and also wasn't made aware that breakfast was a very small chocolate chip muffin. I understand covid is happening and things need to change. No where on the website did it explain "free breakfast included in price of room" was going to be a small muffin that neither my boyfriend or I can eat. No fruit. Nothing more!! We paid over $140 for a quiet night away from our children together to be taken over by bugs, no breakfast and terrible service by the so called manager. I hope whoever is thinking of going to this place reads this and makes a better decision then I did. read more

Do NOT stay here if you plan on visiting this area. Terribly unprepared, staff extremely unhelpful, violations of privacy even when there is a do not disturb sign up. To top it all off, on the last day of our stay, there was a bedbug scare which is not just a gigantic inconvenience, but also a huge health risk. The front desk barely answers their phone when you try to call from a room. We had three rooms, and 2 of them smelled of smoke that had been absorbed into the carpet and walls somehow. One smelled of piss. The fridges were completely frozen out and did not work properly. And the staff also could not care less about the fact that there was a bedbug scare. Again, DO NOT stay here, and if you have made any reservations, cancel them. There are plenty of family owned inns in the area that are light years better than this poor excuse for a hotel. read more

Spiderwebs on the pool furniture, in the hallway, in my room, all over the windows with mayflies caught in them. The bathroom in my room was not cleaned whatsoever. Beds are not comfortable and made my back ache. Carpets were dirty. Room smelled of smoke. This place is gross and NOT worth the price you pay. Hallways smelled of tobacco smoke. Bed was not comfortable. Rooms are very loud, you can hear all of the surrounding guests' noise amplified through the cement walls and floors, very loud banging was heard most of the night. You could also hear a flushing toilet which sounded like a plane flying overhead and someone else's shower running which sounded like a large drain sucking water. There were several bugs in the room. It was very expensive for the quality. If you are looking for a comfortable bed to sleep in, find another hotel for your money. read more
