That should be a Negative 1 rating. I drove from Missouri to this disaster of a business, based on the listing and pictures on the priceline app. It rated the Quality in at 2.5 stars. I didn't have any issues checking in, the issues came when I got to my room. First off, I noticed a very musty smell and could hear the traffic outside, I realized then the window was open, the screen was damaged and when I tried to close the window it was off the track, and the clasp was broken. The bed was higher at the head and lower at the foot, I also could see a piece of the metal frame sticking out about 4 inches from the bed. The lamp next to the bed was broken and the shade was dirty, broken and hanging to the side. There were picture hangers on the wall above the bed, but the pictures were laying next to a dresser of sorts on the floor. The furniture most likely was picked up next to the trash after a rain, broken edges, hinges and stains.... So, I just had to look at the bathroom. The first thing I saw was two small dingy, yellow looking towels that you could tell were one time white. The kleenex dispenser was rusted out around the edges with nothing inside. The hair dryer had a layer of dust and grime and there is writting on the wall with marker... I returned to the front desk and told the desk clerk, I was not staying and requested my money back on my credit card. I was told that I checked in after 4 pm, so I would be charged for the evening. Even though you can't check in until 3pm. I pointed out the sign behind the desk that stated something in regards to if your not completely satisfied with something they would make it right. I also requested to speak with the manager and was told he's not here at the moment. I asked if there was a number I could call. I was given a number with the name Jim 9524701111, but you guessed it, Jim doesn't answer his phone, or return calls because I left him a message. The only thing missing from this room was the chalk body outline, I can put up with a lot, but the overwhelming grunge of this dump was too much. No one should be allowed to stay in a place like this. read more

This place was absolutely disgusting, which is sad because the people at the desk seem very kind. I nearly puked when I lifted the toilet seat and there was someone's dirty leg prints on the toilet. Please see pictures. How was this not cleaned off? Absolutely disgusting......... This place was a dump, my room smelled, there were water marks all over the desk. That can be dismissed but what cannot be overlooked is the MISSING SMOKE ALARM in the room! Wires were just dangling down. Holy what? Another Yelper took pictures of it, I must have stayed in the same room she was in. There was mold all over the bathroom. Behind the toilet, on the ceiling above the shower head. No way was I risking showering in there. It was gross on many levels. There is a timer with a heated lamp inside. Some little shampoos and a bar of soap on the towel for the shower. I ended up cancelling my 3 nights stay. I wanted to walk right back out of there but sucked it up. One night stay it was. I felt uncomfortable sleeping in the bed, inside the room in general. They tried their best to make things pleasant but they really need to clean up their act. NOTE the hot tub and pool are STILL out of order. People are saying this is to lure people in. It might work for some but this wasn't the reason I stayed. I didn't bother with the breakfast either. This stay was bizarre. Soda cans are $1 quarters only. There is a vending machine but it was quite empty. They did have a book with info inside of restaurants around. Pro tip: the tv took me forever to figure out. I thought it was broken but I don't watch much tv. Look up the channel guide in the book and enter the 2 digit code. You have to do it individually. You cannot use the channel up or down. Where do I even begin? We got two rooms. Both had hair in the beds. Mascara stains on pillow - new, not old - and the bedding smelled so clearly these beds were never cleaned, just remade. Gross. Used diaper behind headboard! One room smelled so strongly of pickles and vomit that we had to get a different room. This room had no towels, soaps, or coffee, but at least it was clean-ish. Never again. The smell is awful like cigarette smoke through the whole place, even though it I'd a smoke free building. You know it's bad when the two rooms I went to (I asked to switch) had three bathroom fan running in both of them. My smoke detector wasn't attached. There's a reason it was so cheap. Stayed one night and canceled the next two nights. Pool area: limited lighting, stained tables, tiles falling off pool, spiders in pool, spa closed due to health concerns (per the county), no towels (we asked and they were provided), pool was really cold, floor was extremely slippery when wet Room: cleaner than the rest of the hotel, smelled like stale smoke, either freezing or roasting depending on which you preferred (we kept switching to regulate), toilet seat hole was filled with silicone, when door unlocked we had to throw some weight against it to keep it open General hotel: creepy, very little lighting in the hallway, no elevator, signage confusing, grimy floors (vacuuming needed) Staff: the two staff I interacted with were helpful with getting us towels and canceling the remainder of our stay If you're looking to go cheap and don't care about cleanliness or atmosphere this is the place to go. read more

We have stayed here a couple of times over the years. This time was as a last resort, as all the hotels in the area seemed to be booked. The people at the hotel were very nice and were helpful. However, the hotel needs to have some work done. It is showing its age. The rooms are standard, nothing to write home about. The television in our room was small, was placed strangely and did not offer a quality image. There was a small refrigerator, tiny microwave and small coffee maker available in the room. The beds were okay and the room was fairly clean. Not a room to hang out in, but adequate to lay your head down for a night. Although we didn't utilize the pool, I checked it out. The hot tub was empty (the clerk said they were having problems when we checked in). The pool, which is small, looked like it needed a good cleaning. The complimentary breakfast was what you probably would expect from a lower end hotel. Waffle maker, toaster, instant coffee machine, watery juices and an offering of microwaved sausage and egg rounds. You don't need to worry about walking away full. If you are simply looking for a place to crash for the night and like the idea of being close to an IHop, this might be the place for you. read more

Good news.....this is THE quietest off-highway hotel I have ever stayed at.....zero traffic noise to keep me awake. Staff was friendly and my room was immaculately clean. Downsides....I would have liked to sleep in a little later than 6:15 am, but that is when the sunlight woke me. The curtains do not meet in the middle so there is quite a gap between them. In walking to my car, I noticed that many of the rooms have this issue. Improper installment of curtain rods? There also seem to be a water pressure issue. Only got two bath towels, no washcloths or hand towels. TV and remote worked. Dingy, dirty, had to move rooms multiple times. First room had a broken window with a huge gap, we wouldn't be able to cool the room or keep out bugs or the noise from the bar crowd right behind the hotel. Graffiti on the outer walls, everything is broken down... don't expect to use any of the "amenities," you never know what will be working. Hot tub has been out of commission for months, but they still use it to lure in guests. The pool area looked like a place you might catch an infection. None of the rooms we were put in were clean. Floors were dirty and stained, I don't even want to know with what kind of fluids. Everything was falling apart, our door was splitting into three parts on the bottom. The windows weren't even clean. We woke up to a bug walking across the sheets. We got some rest, and luckily they have a fridge, microwave and a small tv. It will get you by in a pinch, but this is probably the worst place I've ever stayed- and I've stayed in a $30 a night motel. I didn't expect this level of seediness from a $100 a night hotel. Also don't plan on eating the "free breakfast" unless you have a stomach made of steel. You will pay for it later. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I'm a Choice Elite Diamond member and have been close to 10 years. For a loyal member like myself to be treated as such is deplorable and unaccusable. I'm presently questioning my membership within your organization. This past Sunday Aug.4th 2019 I had an on call situation for my company. So I decided to stay at your Quality Inn property located in Coon Rapids, MN I used my Choice points to reserve the room. Now I've stayed there before without any issue. However I assume it was during a different ownership group. At check in the rude front desk person automatically had an interest in my credit card. Without asking me a question, he already had me signing the check in form. I informed him that I was using my points. He gets frazzled and upset. After pretending to look through his notes on the computer and etc. he informed me that the hotel needed my card for incidentals. I informed him of my status and that I was well aware of Choice procedures. I slept at the hotel for 2 hours before being called into work. I left the hotel at that time and didn't return. However the following day I get a fraud alert on my credit card. As I checked I noticed a charge from the Quality Inn from the night before, I called the hotel to ask about the charge. The staff informed me about a missing blanket charge. I told the guy I didn't take any blanket and I wouldn't have a need for their blanket. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told the guy it must be some form of mistake. He informed me that I would have to talk to Syed the hotel manager. For the next 5 days I called the hotel looking for this guy to resolve the situation. Every time I called I would leave messages as to the importance of the matter. No response. Hotel staff would give me excuses for why he wasn't there. No one would help. The charge did go through to my account. I continued to call and leave messages. No response. No help. I later called Choice Hotels National Head quarters. I disputed the charges on my credit card. I'm thinking yep I just got scammed. If you chose to stay here it would be at your own risk. Watch your debit/credit card. You should know about this. I've heard about these scams before and what scummy some hotels do. I was and still is treated like shit from this hotel as I attempt to resolve this matter and I'm contemplating legal action. Sad really. Too bad for Choice hotels to. They really do have nice to great properties. I've traveled to many of their locations around the US. It takes one shithole of a place this to fuck it up for everyone. It wasn't enough o have nasty bathrooms and mold, but treat people and loyal customers like shit to? Sad really. And if they needed the money that damn bad they could've just ask. Zero....I won't even bother with all the pictures I took. Stayed here dozens of times. This last in 2018 was the worst. I was overcharged, never got my amount back, carpet parts looked as blood soaked, bathroom had zero body towels, just face towels. Urine and hairs around the toilet, the frame on the bathroom mirror was on the bathroom vanity counter, dirty comforter, not clean at all! I am not picky but for one night and had to switch rooms, the one better was just "okay" still. Choice,,,,get your act together or sell. This was disgusting and should be shut down. Pros: fairly clean room, comfortable bed, location was very convenient, continental breakfast was the usual, nothing special. Strike 1: right after checking in, I noticed the window was unlocked and cracked open a bit. For some reason I decided to check the lock on the door to the adjoining room and it was broken. So whoever was in that room could have just walked into our room at any time. When I went to the front desk, she was like "oh yeah, I told maintenance about that". Really? Strike 2: So they switched usto another room. I walked in that room and it reeked like an ashtray. Went back to the desk and asked for a different room and she says "yeah, we catch people smoking all the time. We busted someone smoking pot in that room last week". Seriously?!? So many thing are wrong with that statement. Strike 3: the exterior door was really close to room number 3. It has a lock on it and you are supposed to have your key card to enter. The lock was broken and anybody could enter that way. Security is apparently not a priority at this place. Strike 4: the faucet in the bathroom doesn't work AT ALL, so we had to wash our hands on the tub. Needless to say, we cut our stay short and got out of this place! read more

It's unfortunate that a negative star rating is unavailable. After traveling over 12 hours and arriving at the hotel at 9PM on a Monday night, we were told that our reservation (through Choice Privileges) we had for over a month was not available. Our reservation was for five nights (checking in on Monday and checking out on Saturday). At the time of check-in, the clerk (Tina) related that the hotel was already booked starting on Thursday night and we would need to vacate the hotel and find another place to stay, but we could still stay at their hotel for the first three nights. After looking online, their website still showed availability but the rates had gone up since we had made our reservation. It was obvious that the hotel was cancelling our reservation in order to have another pay a higher rate. At this point, we requested to speak with the owner (Asif) but we were told several times that calling him at 9PM was not an option. However, it was apparent that the clerk was talking with him on the phone and telling him we were causing a disturbance. We told the clerk that we would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The clerk then relayed that if we stayed at the hotel and continued showing her our reservation, they would call the police. The clerk proceeded to hand me the phone and say the manager was ready to talk... Let's say he was extremely rude. He not only came up with multiple excuses on why we were no longer allowed in his hotel (rooms were in poor condition, maids weren't available, previous Choice Hotel members had demolished their hotel rooms, and we simply weren't welcome to stay there). He proceeded to tell us we needed to leave and go find another place to stay and he did not care if no hotels were available. After an hour of being treated like dirt and experiencing the worst hotel service in my life, we had to leave the hotel and drive over an hour to another hotel in Wisconsin since no other hotels were available near this slum of a hotel called Quality Inn Northtown in Coon Rapids, MN. I would rather be a bed-ridden vegetable than have to go into this facility again. read more

All I can say is Wow better think twice when booking your room. Toilet still used garbage in the cans hair every ware in the tub on the floor not sure the room was even cleaned. Guarantee will NEVER use them again called many times to resolve and only to be told no management on duty and no room to move us in. Guess they better get them a cell phone as guest issues should never be put on a back burner due to your inefficiencies in staffing. Great staff! I arrived a little late for my complimentary breakfast, a staff member quickly asked me if I had any issues. After expressing my questionable displeasure, the staff member quickly told one of the workers to bring the breakfast back to the table so we could eat. I later found out that this staff member, that just spent a considerable amount of time with me, was in fact the OWNER of the hotel. Such great dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy their guests. Thank you, Faisal! You are a great leader and impeccable example to your employees! One star seems too generous. I did not like this facility at all. The first impression I had when I entered the lobby was the TV was cranked up too high and the heat was not on high enough. The employees at reception do not care at all, and work in an extremely disorganized environment. There is a lot to be desired for customer service. Although the rooms are relatively cheap, they are not very nice and the side doors are left perched open in the dead of winter to let all of the cold air flow into the room. The beds weren't neatly made and there were only two towels in the bathroom. When I called the reception desk requesting more, they said they would cover it but never saw it through. I went down to the desk to ask about it later on, but no one was at the desk. There is a breakfast provided in the morning but it is made up of over-ripe fruit, stale bread, milk with no expiration date and really watered down "juice". I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an affordable place to stay. There are 2 or 3 other hotels in the same vicinity if a traveler is looking to stay close to the highway. read more

We've stayed here on two different weekends, and each time housekeeping neglected to make up our room on one of the days. We were gone for the day each time and by the time we returned each afternoon, there was no housekeeping staff around to make up the room. I would avoid this place at all costs. Several bad experiences with housekeeping and desk mgr didn't really care. Checked in Thurs 6/21/18. Friday had no room service and no clean towels, shampoo etc. Saturday had room service and got new hand towels but no bath towels. Went to front desk at night and got 2 clean bath towels, and told mgr what happened and he seemed upset but didn't say anything. Sunday came back to room at 8:30pm and found a "do not disturb" sign on outside of door. It was on the inside when I had left in the morning. The 2 clean bath towels that I had placed on rack over toilet clean and unused were now gone and not replaced. Went to front desk and complained to night mgr who told me guests who stay over have to request room service and bring dirty towels to desk for clean ones. I asked why this is not explained at check in and she had no answer. In fact the mgr who may have been franchise owner that I spoke with for new towels on Sat night never mentioned that dirty towels needed to be brought to front desk. Furthermore I have been staying at Quality and Comfort Inns for years and never had to trade in towels at front desk. While I was arguing to deaf ears to mgr on Sun 8:30 pm another guest came to desk who had just checked in and said his room had not been cleaned. They gave him a different room and he came back in minutes and said the second room had not been cleaned. Meanwhile I received no apology or truthful explanation from the night mgr. I would have to be desperate to stay at an Unquality Inn again. read more

This place should be called Low Quality Inn. This place is nasty. The kind of place you get bed bugs from. They don't clean very well...windows,windows sills just dirty. They clearly don't dust. The carpet was gross! There were black marks/stains on the sheets?!?! Everything is old and dated. I have been staying at this hotel, twice a year, for nine years. My children and grandchildren live nearby. At my last stay, I called and was quoted a price with an AARP and AAA discount. When I went to leave, I was given a receipt for the correct amount but the credit card number wasn't mine. I didn't notice it at the time, but when my credit card statement came, the charges were different. I disputed the additional charge, but Visa ruled in the hotels favor because the credit card number was different. The receipt had my name and the correct dates and the correct room number, but it was "dummyed up" so that they could charge me a different amount. They also presented a printout from a website I had never heard of and claimed I made the reservation from this website. That was totally false information as I had the business card for years and always call directly and make my reservation. The management or ownership has changed and these people are disreputable. I stayed at Quality Inn Northtown September 22nd - 26th. The first day housekeeping came and picked up a towel and washcloth that had been used. The trash was not emptied and the bed was not made. The whole stay housekeeping entered my room one time. The trash was never emptied, the bed was never made and the towels were never replaced. I complained to the front desk when I had to go get towels myself and I was told that I wasn't the only one complaining. Housekeeping was marking that I had a do not disturb sign on my door or that I refused service. I never had a do not disturb sign on my door I was out early in the morning and back late in the evening. I never spoke with anyone in housekeeping to refuse service. I will NOT be staying at this Quality Inn again. read more

Then they switched me to a second floor room that smells like bad BO. To top it they tried to charge me for my Service dog. Stay as far away from this place as possible . First they quote you one price on the phone then charges different price when you check in . We had a late check in and got into our room after going round and round about the rate . When we got into the room there was toothpaste from the previous guest in the bathroom sink , the mirror hadn't been cleaned , the bathroom counter was dust covered and the toilet had urine around the hinges and floor . The sink and tub faucets haven't been touched in ages . Just to satisfy my self I took a hand towel , wet it with sink water and cleaned the sink faucet . All of the water spots disappeared ! The bathtub had orangish colored stains that scraped off with my fingernail. It had obviously not been scrubbed for a long time . The bed lampshade was cracked and holes in it , wall paper was peeling off the wall . The room smelled dirty because the AC filter was caked with dust . I pulled the filter and left it on the table for the housekeeper the next day . We were tired and just wanted to get some sleep. I informed the desk person the next morning of the filthy bathroom , he said it would be taken care of. We got back to the room later in the afternoon. The toilet was cleaned , a swipe across the mirror, the counter was still covered with caked on dust And the tooth paste was still in the sink . And the tub had not been touched . This was supposedly after room service . I went back down to the desk and complained and they sent a woman who didn't seem to understand English with a bottle of some blue water . She stood and looked in the room and didn't seem to know what to do . I pointed out everything and she sprayed her blue water on it . Made little to no difference . She responded okay lady and left us four extra bath towels ! When we checked out the next morning I discovered not only did they not give us the discount but actually charged 10.00 more for Saturday night . One phone call and three days later the credit came through . A man identified as Asil was incredibly rude on the two occasions I had to speak with him. At one point Friday night when checking in he told us that if we didn't like the jacked up price we could leave , but then we would have been charged for a missed reservation . Oh and the housekeeper put the filter back in the AC and it was as dirty as it was when I pulled it . This hotel is apparently part of a group of 4 or five hotels owned by a Fasil something or other . I got my remote generated apology after a scathing review on their exit survey ! From what I can see , these people are running the property into the ground and could care less about customers . They should not be allowed to carry any Corporate name . And for the record I was a housekeeping supervisor for 100 room motel and suites in the Wisconsin. Dells area . If any housekeeper of mine would have left a room in that condition to be rented they would have been out of a job and the room would have been cleaned and the new renter given a free room for their stay !
