The staff are friendly especially the breakfast lady. The room is clean. The sheets are very clean and crisp. This place is dated but they are remodeling. The problem is it appears they are doing a little bit here and there. I saw rust in the room in several places. The sink was new and updated but the bathroom was old. The floor was new but the AC made really loud noises. The breakfast was limited. Sausage links and powdered eggs. They had a waffle maker. Nothing really healthy though. They had some fresh fruit including a banana, (I saw one), some apples and mandarin oranges. The cereal was Cheerios and Froot Loops. The iron and ironing board in room 119 was broken. I let them know at checkout. My favorite was the very friendly cats that live around the parking area. I wish I had known about them while we went to dinner as I would have brought them some food. We did a weekend getaway in the area and this was the only hotel available; there was a reason. The hotel is in need of a desperate make over. Our comforter was stained, the rubber base trim is rotting/falling apart, there was a small roach in the bathroom, and the TV volume only goes to %50. Positives: Room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The WiFi was good. Cons: outdated room (except floors), but not that bad (fixtures). Price since they weren't serving meals the price was way to high. I was there for an event or I probably would have looked for another place. Quality Inn-Live Oak, FL COCKROACH infested Dishonest & Deceptive I was heading to the QI to rescue some of the stray cats roaming around the hotel when my car broke down in a very bad area of Tampa. I had car repaired the next day and I finally arrived to hotel in Live Oak sometime during the AM hours. I told the clerk that I was the lady that was coming for the cats but I needed to get a room because I was very tired. I had not slept for over 48 hours. I also asked for a late checkout and he said yes, he could give me an extra hour, which would be at noon. I drove around back to my room, was greeted by the cats and finally made it into my room. I walked over to the nightstand to set my keys down and I saw all the cockroaches. They were crawling up the wall next to the headboard and the nightstand was covered with them. I grabbed my dog and we got out of the room ASAP. I did not want another room there, chances are likely the entire hotel is infested as well. I was way too tired to drive anywhere else so the only option was to sleep in my car. I also figured it would be safer to move my car up by office instead of sleeping in the back parking lot. When I pulled up there, there were quests inside talking to the clerk so I thought it would be better to wait until they left before I went into informed the clerk. I assume they were all friends because they were talking quite a while and I ended up, falling asleep. BANG...I was woke up by ridiculous and uncalled for, aggressive "cop knock" on top my car. THE HOTEL CALLED THE COPS ON ME. The hotel and officer knew who I was and that I had paid for a room there yet I was scolded and interrogated for "sleeping so late" (it was still the AM and what do they care?) Next I was ordered to get inside and return my the key cards, so I did. The clerk that called the police on me, said nothing to me at all about it. She did not say why she called the police on me and didn't indicate she was perhaps concerned about me. Her immature facial expressions and mannerism indicated she wasn't very sophisticated but luckily she doesn't work for me. She actually looked at me like I caused the problem! I handed her the key cards, told her the room was infested with roaches and I would like a refund. Her exact words back to me were, "the room was cleaned and the maid said she didn't see any". (So how did the maid know what to look for and why would my room have been cleaned that early?) I said, I don't know how she could've missed them and I would like a refund! Next she tells me she can not give me a refund, that I would have to call the manager for that. So, I call the manager and she tells me the only way to get a refund is to ask for it before I checked out. Both of their stories contradicting each other, implying I screwed up my refund and still refusing to refund my money. After reading some reviews, it looks like they have that scam down. Sadly, I wasn't able to help the cats and they missed out on getting homes. I can't believe what shit show this entire experience ended up to be. I paid $150 to get a few hours sleep. They sent me in to sleep with cockroaches, I ended up having to sleeping in my car, I'm rudely woke up by an over caffeinated cop yelling at me for sleeping at a place people go sleep at and I'm kicked off the property before check out time for NO REASON and denied a refund by dishonest staff. I did not break any laws but Quality Inn sure did. read more

This room was 200 bucks for the night. It should have been $30 dollars. I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. I went to call the front desk but the phone was not working. I called the front desk and they said they would call me back. They called me ten minutes later to tell me they can't get a hold of the plumber and that's that. The room smelled like hot garbage. Our family visited this hotel on the night of Sunday, September 1st, 2019 evacuating from Hurricane Dorian. When I went into the lobby to check in and asked if they had a military discount, the clerk said, "We aren't accepting any discounts at this time. The room is normally 109, but due to Hurricane Dorian, it's up to 150." So we were definitely price gauged from the beginning. Upon entering the actual hotel room, it felt very humid and damp. We turned the air down in hopes of cooling off the room and getting rid of the damp feeling, but it didn't work. Even when getting under the covers to sleep, the bedding felt damp. The sheets smelled like they hadn't been washed in weeks. The air conditioner apparently had a hard time running. For five minutes it would run okay, and then for the next 5 minutes it sounded like a wagon going down the Oregon Trail. It was off and on every 5 minutes all night. Every time it started struggling to work we'd wake up because it was so loud. We got very little sleep. Finally, the walls are so thin, that in a non-smoking room, our bathroom smelled like someone had been smoking in it. It reeked. I'd encourage the owner to stay in the room we stayed in and see if he/she would still call it a "Quality Inn." read more

So, not the worst place we've ever stayed at but defiantly could do so much better. Front desk attendant was very polite upon check in and check out. "Free breakfast" standard fare (waffles, powdered scrambled eggs, small danish or tiny muffins ect..) The room..eh. Was not comfortable with not wearing shoes. The bathroom had a faint oder of stale urine. Really hard water leaves you feeling yucky after a shower. Scratchy towels. A plus is the refrig and microwave. Air conditioner was LOUD all night. I'm not going to lie, when we first pulled into the parking lot, we considered leaving. From the outside, it looks like an old, dingy motel. The only reason we stayed was because this was the only hotel/motel in the area that took pets and our infant had had enough of traveling for the day. From the moment we went to the lobby to check in, we were pleasantly surprised. The woman at the front desk was pleasant and efficient. There was plenty of parking and it felt safe. Most of the other patrons seemed to be construction workers. It was quiet and clean. The room itself was indeed older, but it appeared to be recently updated. There was a flat-screen tv, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. The bathroom was small but functional. Standard continental breakfast was included. There were vending machines and a washer/dryer in the breezeways on both floors. There were plenty of restaurants and gas stations to choose from nearby. There is even a Wal-Mart across the street which is convenient if you need something. Access to the highway was quick and easy. read more

The building is older, but the rooms have been updated nicely, especially for a basic hotel chain. Flat screen TV with true HD, refrigerator, microwave...etc. The wifi, at least in our room near the office, was very fast and easy to sign onto. The water pressure was great and the shower does have the curved out rod, which is a definite plus when you are in a smaller, older bathroom. The staff were friendly. A few negatives. I have a habit of checking the sheets as soon as I check in to make sure they have been changed. On this stay they had not. Both beds had short, curly hairs (body hairs) on the sheets. I've found this several times in even nicer hotels like Hilton and Marriott. Anyhow, the front desk clerk was very apologetic and have us a new room. This one had clean sheets, and the rest of the room was also very clean. The beds slept fine for me, but I realize this is very subjective. It was middle of the road - I like soft beds, cannot stand hard beds - and this one was somewhere in between. The AC worked great! In Florida in August this is no small deal. They do serve a free breakfast, but we did not get a chance to try it out. Bottom line, there are not a lot of hotels to choose from in these parts. This is by far the best of the three right off the interstate (the others being a surprisingly horrible Holiday Inn Express and an Econolodge), Just check your sheets to make sure the maid didn't get lazy and you'll have a decent stay. read more

I prefer to write positive reviews, and I really wanted to like this location, but unfortunately there were some serious problems. Pros: The room was basically clean and fresh smelling. The staff was courteous and even took the time to set the air conditioner ahead of time to cool the room down for us. Very appreciated! Breakfast DOES include hot items like eggs and sausage. Cons: Terrible Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi would only let you on for a minute or so at a time in our room (room 110). This made it impossible to get any serious work done. The bathroom door would not close and it would not lock. Toilet seat was minuscule, which is an awkward hygiene problem if you're a male. Toilet bowl/water looked very dirty, it may have been a red colored fungus or iron bacteria. Overall, value for price, this was not a good deal. Sorry, management. read more

Super super nice person checked me in last night and was friendly and knowledgeable of the hotel and area. The rooms are re-done and look good. Bottom floors are a better choice if you have a vehicle to unload or people. There are numerous restaurants very close that you can walk to. Dogs welcome for a fee. This place was super nice! We were a party of 2 and booked a room that slept 6+. Lots of room at this hotel! The room we stayed in had two queen beds and a pull out couch that slept two. It was very clean and up to date. We loved it here. We will definitely stay with Quality Inn again. read more

Are any of the Choice Hotels the greatest out there? No. But on a regular basis, they provide the best service and best value (with Holiday Inn in the same dance) available for the business and Family traveler. We chose this particular Quality Inn because of service in Schaumburg, IL and the legend carried on...I contacted Lori in the PM while rolling into Tallahassee and she carried the service legacy to the next level. On the phone she went above and beyond what was expected and topped it with the top notch personal service she provided when my wife and 2 daughters walked through the doors of the lobby. Room and hotel were clean and the service Lori provided made it a very easy decision to choose a Choice hotel one more night on the way down to the Sunshine state and one night (in Paducah, IL) on the way back!
