The Quality Inn in Harrodsburg, KY, is hands down the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed at. A two star motel has better service. I had an issue with the TV in my room and it took two days for someone to come and look at it after calls to the front desk several times over that two days and assurances that the maintenance man had been told and would be "right up." The first day the maid asked if she could skip my room and promised she would service the room the following day. I said that was fine if she just gave us towels and emptied the little trash cans. The next day, by 6 PM, no one had come to service the room. I had been waiting to take a shower all day b/c I was expecting someone at any time and didn't want to miss them b/c the room hadn't been serviced the day before, so I didn't put the "do not disturb" sign out. At 5:30ish PM, I called the front desk to ask if anyone was going to service the room. The lady was like, "No one has serviced your room yet either?" She then assured me she would send someone up "right away." I had to be somewhere by 7p, so by 6:40 when no one had arrived, I went to take a shower. Lo and behold, while I was in the shower the maintenance man FINALLY came up to look at the TV. At some point after 8p, someone finally came to service the room. Then, today around 1:45p, my room key stopped working. I came down to the front desk to have it fixed, but no one was there. (No one had been at the desk when I came in for breakfast in the morning either.) I picked up the phone on the ledge that said "pick up phone for service" and let it ring and ring and ring and ring until it stopped ringing, but no one answered the mobile phone they carry around when they're not at the desk (this same issue happened the first day when I came down to breakfast and to report the issue with the TV and a leak in the faucet in my room's bathroom. I picked up that phone for service and someone had answered, and when she came in, she was carrying a mobile phone). Even better is the fact that the card on the front desk that ostensibly has the owner's contact info is a number that when you call it, the front desk phone rings! I've been here now for half an hour, and no one has come back. Someone finally came, and her reason that no one was answering? "My phone is dead." Then charge it! Now it turns out that the TV they "fixed" last night isn't fixed. I'll leave it there. I'm sure I will have more issues before we check out on Monday (it's Saturday), but I think you get the gist of the kind of ship this company runs. read more
