Ugh! Yelp did me wrong! I stayed away from this place because of the reviews, but every hotel in Gresham is so awful that I finally decided to give this joint a shot! Sooooooooooo pleasantly surprised! These reviews complaining about the breakfast...bish, please! Tourists want clean quiet and friendly, and that's exactly what this Quality Inn serves. Bethany, who checked me in, was super fabulous. I received a clean (enough) room, plus it felt safe. Liquor store next door...super quiet space...and less expensive than the other hotels in this 'hood. Trust me: Mama's from LA! PS: The coffee was good xoxo read more

The hotel itself is fine to stay in but I write this as a fair warning. Within four hours of parking our car right in front of the hotel and in a well lit area of the parking lot with security cameras pointed to our vehicle, we were broken into. We arrived at the hotel at 1 AM and then received a phone call at 5 AM saying our car has been broken into. We are currently on a road trip across the country and they stole everything we had... We never leave stuff in the car but we figured we could just grab it in the morning since we got in so late... As we walked the parking lot the next day there was shattered glass scattered all around, so we were not the first car nor will we be that last. We filed a police report. The hotel was not helpful at all and refused to show the security footage (the police recommended them to show it to us or email it to them and the hotel refused). My Samsara dash cam was able to pick up the vehicle since the vehicle drove directly in front of the hotel with our roof rack on top of it. The cops came to the hotel since the hotel wasn't being that cooperative. They said that the quality of the cameras were so poor that they cannot see the license plate on the vehicle so the video is deemed useless even though the car drove directly in front of them in a well lit parking lot. We spoke with several different employees about the situation. All refused to assist with this. Only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast and the breakfast staff. read more

The motel was very nice. Clean & Comfortable. Looks like it was once a large Conference Center. Not much selection for breakfast. Waffles or toast. No eggs or biscuits & gravy. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND CLEAN! We took a trip to Oregon in June 2024 and staying at this hotel made all the difference in the world to enjoy our stay. The staff at front desk, Devin & Losa, were always friendly courteous, quick to respond to our needs and hospitable. Gina who works in the dinning area, made our day every morning with her attentiveness, helpfulness, and her friendly attitude while greeting with a smile. We truly hope that this facility realizes how great of an asset Gina is to their business! We saw her around the hotel working hard, whether in the dinning area or laundry room, AND ALWAYS WITH A SMILE. We also took notice of how she interacts with guests asking if we need anything or simply exchanges a couple of nice words to everyone. We highly recommend staying at this hotel for a great experience! I'm just sorry it took me a while to post review :] read more

Walked into the lobby and didn't want to sit in any of the chairs, they were all dirty. Inside the room, carpet was stained, had burn marks from cigarette. Room didn't smell of smoke but the smoke detector was still stained with it. Bed linens were old and dingy and the mattress had a lot of stains. No mattress pad. Gross. Would not stay here again. read more

Quality in has good value. $80/night. Normally a breakfast buffet (on hold due to COVID-19). Pool, hot tub, gym, computer too, also closed. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. The thing that won the five stars was at the hotel clerk was calling his room to make sure everything was all right. Getting extra tassels no problem for our family. read more

Nice lobby and staff was ok on check-in. Room turned to be far, FAR from the entrance even though I automatically request "Down & Out, near door or elevators." Air did not EVER go on and no one ever came to check on it. I checked in and turned on the AC. Returned quite late and tired to find a hot room. Breakfast was really not worth the long walk to the room. It was hacked together waffle machine and not much else. I had phoned ahead and was clearly told there was a full hot breakfast LIES! read more

This hotel is exactly what you would imagine a Quality Inn to be. And it's probably the exact same as the last Quality Inn you stayed at. Nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and prices are reasonable. Normally I would give a hotel like that 3 stars, but this particular Quality Inn gets an extra star for 2 reasons. 1. The service was particularly friendly! 2. This isn't your ordinary hotel breakfast. While it still isn't a 5 star breakfast, I would rate it 5 stars as far as free, continental breakfasts go! They had everything! Waffles with all the fixings, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bagels, toast, pastries, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, yogurt, cereal, and pretty much any other breakfast food you can imagine. It gave us the energy that we needed for the full day of adventuring we had ahead of us. Thanks for the great stay Quality Inn! (Tip: While this hotel is a few minutes outside of the city, it is closer to the gorge and Multnomah Falls and those kinds of things! So if adventuring over there is something you're interested in, this is a great place to stay to help you get a jump on the day.) read more

Sub par at best. Breakfast is a joke. No eggs, toast, meat, just waffles! Hot tub in pool area is broken and staff admitted has been broken since winter. It's September! Ice machines on 1st and second floor are broken. Giving it 2 stars Only because the room was clean. Save your money don't book here. read more

Came to visit my sister in law from California. This was the closest to her house in Damascus (according to maps)15 min away.So we went. Lobby was nice and clean, a little outdated but ok. Front desk was nice check in was easy. Breakfast was ok, could use some meat (Bacon sausage ham etc.) We booked a Jr Suite...it was a basic room with a "spare room" with a phone that didn't work and 1 working light. A little weird. We stayed 2 days and decided to try another hotel. When we checked out I realized I had left my phone charger and my travel sweatshirt. I called them about 20 min after check out and the front desk stated they would let housekeeping know and they would call when they find it. I called back 4 hours later and the front desk person had no idea of it and said "I don't know where your items are but they're not they're here) So we booked a little further out for our remaining 4 days. I would not recommend a long stay. read more

This hotel worked out great for our last minute road trip. The price was right, the location was good, the room was spacious and very comfortable and the included breakfast was good (so much bacon!). I used the workout room too, which was very good. I did have to take off one star for how they didn't appear to be doing anything special to address concerns with the coronavirus scare. No signage or hand sanitizer at the front desk, at the breakfast room, at the workout room, anywhere. I have to admit I was a bit uncomfortable and felt they could have done more. read more

Pros: room is clean, pillows are fluffy, lots of mirrors, nice staff Cons: bathroom in double queen rooms is really weird with sinks in entryway, you have to go to the 3rd or 4th floors for your ice, tv is suuuuper quiet, parking lot is messed up, breakfast is a micro water bottle and a dry cereal bar with no filling...that's it...no options. If we need to get another room in town for anything it won't be here. read more

Stayed two nights recently and was surprised they didn't clean the room after the first night. The room was OK the air conditioning worked, the shampooer looked like it had been refilled and was not enough for two showers. Next time I'll try some different place read more

I travel 30-40 weeks out of the year. Thought I'd give this place a shot because I was told it had a in-house bar/restaurant. Convenient right? Tried this joint twice. Total disappointment. Bar is never open because "they are understaffed". Breakfast is crap. Don't trust the security. Now I am suspect to the cleanliness of my room. Go elsewhere. Not recommended. I give it one star because I accidentally hit it. read more

When I hold long meetings with folks, I usually offer food. Something about free food makes unappealing activities a little better. So when I see that a place offers "free breakfast", I equate that with the strategy I use at work. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The location is prime and not too far away from grocery stores and eateries. The rooms are clean and look like they were upgraded recently. The walls are NOT paper thin (thank goodness), but if you have heavy-footed guests staying in rooms above you, you'll hear them. They offer free breakfast, which is "meh" at best but I can't complain -- it's free. The service is great, staff are welcoming even at 3 AM. I really give this place 4.5 stars. I'm not too fond of the hallways and the condition they're in. Also, it's kind of a pain to need to use your card key every time you use the elevator or leave the inn; I feel like that should be required during certain times of the day. Consider staying here if you're visiting the area! read more

Just to start out by saying, I'm a Hilton Honors Guy and that I'd do anything for Hilton Honors points. I did have a choice of the Hampton Inn on 182nd but it is not conveniently located to Gresham. I've lived in hotel suites for weeks at a time. Recently, I stayed at the Gresham Quality Inn after selling my home and while my new place was being prepared. Just to say, if you have a choice of hotels in the area, abousutely choose the Gresham Quality Inn, it is a very nice hotel with a great staff, very clean rooms and yes, as Nathan at the front desk said the biscuits and sausage gravy makes the complimentary hot breakfast. I know because I ate it for 5 weeks. Gisele, Devin and Nathan are the very friendly and helpful front desk staff.  I was treated like family over the last 5 weeks. Everyone on the staff is very friendly at this hotel, be prepared to hear good morning or good night as you walk thru the hotel. If you will be staying in the greater Gresham area, want to be near the hiking trails of the Columbia River Gorge or don't want to stay in  busy overpriced Portland, book your stay at the Gresham Quality Inn.  I know I will. read more

I have a good friend who spent 3 days, ending on May 3,2021 at this place. On the third day she started having issues with her PayPal account and had to cut short her stay. She checked out, but since all her cash was on PayPal she couldn't access any money. She hadn't been able to charge her phone while trying to figure out the PayPal issue and it was dead. These people would not even let her charge her phone so she could call a ride to come get her. They wouldn't let her remain inside-it was pouring rain-and she recently was hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism. She told him that and his response was you need to be gone. He eventually called the police on her. The officer was enough of a human being to offer her a ride If I could give negative stars I would. read more

This is the WORST, most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I have ever had with a hotel. I booked online with expedia for two days. The check in was fine, and the room was okay. It was big and had a couch, chair, coffee table, king size bed, desk, and fridge and coffee maker. There were a few stains on the carpet, but it felt pretty clean. The bed was fine, but there have never been worse pillows. They were too big while being too hard and too soft at the same time. The first morning, housekeeping woke us up by coming all the way in at 8:30. She argued with us about whether we were supposed to be there. She said the room was supposed to be vacant, we said that it wasn't and she left with nary an apology. We called the front desk to make sure they knew we were there, and they assured us they knew. The exact same thing happened the next day. We needed to extend our trip, and after 4 phone calls and two in-person visits to the front desk, we finally got someone to extend us. It seems like everyone has different training and different information, and no one has access to the same information. The next (extended) day, our keys didn't work at 8am when we returned from breakfast. We got them fixed at the front desk and nothing more was said. Then around 4:30pm the front desk called and rudely asked why we were still in the room if we hadn't paid for it. We went to the front desk and they ran my card. They said it declined, so we ran my wife's card. They didn't apologize for the inconvenience or for implying that we we thieves, they didn't even wish us a good day when we left. The next morning, we were leaving Gresham and stopped for breakfast at a local diner. My card was declined, so I pulled up my account info. Sure enough, both my wife and I had been charged for the extended (overpriced) stay. We went back to the hotel, and asked them to fix it. We (by sheer luck) got an competent agent who said she would withdraw authorization on the charges. Since it was Friday, we wouldn't be refunded until Monday. On Monday, I called the bank who said the charges were still pending and that unless the hotel issued a refund, the money would be held until Friday. My wife called the hotel to see if they could issue a refund instead of just withdrawing authorization, and the front desk guy condescendingly explained how business days work. We still don't have a refund. read more

Do not expect any quality from this location, nor the management (waytomanage.com)that is 'in charge'. From early check in request denial, to a late check in (20 min beyond latest check in time)... room key(s) not working... misinformed about breakfast hours by inept front desk staff... coffee machine in room broken... black mold in shower... hold time for Sylvia Gonzalez (Manager), & her supervisors-totally unacceptable (hours turned to days)-without resolution to any of our concerns. We stayed here for Easter weekend & were very pleased when we drove up. Beautiful & clean from the outside in. Our room looked new & modern. We did have a little issue with our microwave, but it worked out fine. Breakfast was adequate. The pool was warm & the hot tub was hot. Very kid friendly atmosphere. The rooms were dirty. Our feet were black. Could not set my granddaughter on the floor. Ceiling in bathroom coming down. Dirty sheets..makeup on pillows and smudge marks on sheets. Bathroom dirty and moldy caulking. Floor smelled like pot. Someone cooking . Paid for 2 rooms when we checked into the first room it was had not been cleaned at all . When i called for reservations I told them I wanted our rooms near each other was not told that kings and queens were on separate floors. I clarified there was breakfast and not just a continental breakfast. What was there was waffles apples and yogurt. My wife and I stayed here for five nights in April 2019. FIRST IMPRESSIONS -- RATING: 5/5 The lobby is very welcoming, cozy, and surprisingly voluminous, and there is laid-back jazz playing on the overhead speakers. It's not the most fancy or interesting lobby you'll ever see, but it is a textbook example of a cozy lobby. A welcome sight after a 2-hour-plus drive! THE ROOM -- RATING: 3/5 We stayed in a suite with a Jacuzzi tub in the room. The room was clean overall and it smelled fresh, but there was what appeared to be a small blood stain on the carpet (nothing disturbing, like from a minor nosebleed or something -- but still kind of gross). However, most everything worked well -- T.V., shower, Jacuzzi, sink, toilet, air conditioner, as well as most light fixtures; however... the bathroom light would flicker on and off when turned on, and it reminded my wife of some sort of scary movie the way it would flicker. There was also no Bible, which I wanted to read but could not find anywhere -- oh well there's an app for that. The staff respect your privacy if you put the "do not disturb" sign up, and they will let you sleep in and come back to clean the room if you want it cleaned (provided you request a late clean via a paper slip you return to the front desk by 11am -- pretty cool, isn't it?) POOL -- RATING: 3/5 The indoor pool was nice, warm, and essentially just a standard, generic indoor pool. There was a standard, generic hot tub as well, with a timer. Artificial lighting was a bit dim, but the addition of several windows to the outdoors (which can be opened) was quite nice, especially during the daylight hours. The hotel's business office (not for staff, for guests) faced the pool and had a window to the pool, which I found a bit unusual. EXERCISE ROOM -- 4/5 The exercise room was quite claustrophobic, but everything worked and there was a choice of different (good quality) machinery and weights. There were also T.V.'s so you can watch Sports while exercising (for that extra bit of motivation), and a water fountain to quench the thirst. Although the room was very small, it did have a window for fresh air. The machinery consisted of two treadmills, an elliptical, a recumbent bicycle, a couple of Pilates balls, what appeared to be a small weight machine and possibly some sort of devise for stretches or pull-ups, and finally a rack containing a small collection of handheld weights. BREAKFAST -- 4/5 Breakfast was decent-tasting and had a wide-range of options. There are yoghurts, there are some pastries, there are scrambled eggs (likely from a carton), and bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bread, bagels, English muffins, milk, three flavors of juice, and condiments for the bread products (peanut butter, jelly, butter, cream cheese). Oh, and of course oatmeal packets and corn flakes and fruit loops (can't forget those!) As we did not eat or drink at the restaurant and bar during our stay, I will not rate those. STAFF -- 5/5 The staff was especially nice and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. From the front desk to the cleaning staff and the breakfast staff, everyone we met was especially nice and helpful -- probably the best staff I've encountered at any place we've stayed. LOCATION -- 4/5 The location was quite good. It is in a large suburb of Portland called Gresham. The scenery is typical suburban scenery, but in certain places in the neighborhood you can catch a glimpse of the snow-capped Mt. Hood to the east. There is a hospital nearby (Mt. Hood Medical Center) as well as a Wal-Mart and some decent dining options (Burgerville is across the street and Taco Bell and Jack in the Box are located nearby on Stark St). SAFETY -- RATING: 5/5 The neighborhood was good (a lot nicer than the one we live in!) and I felt quite safe there. The parking lot is well lit and even at night there were no transients or panhandlers and even though I left my car unlocked (on accident) for an entire night, no one stole it or the things inside. Nice! OVERALL IMPRESSIONS -- RATING: 4/5 Overall, this is a great hotel for a good price. All of the flaws are minor in my opinion. It is located in a great area as well. I was initially concerned about staying what appeared to be way outside the city on the map, as we were here for a Portland vacation. However, the city of Portland itself is quite small and compact, and the suburbs (including Gresham) are well-connected to the downtown area via freeways and rail lines. Stay in Gresham at the Quality Inn for your next trip to Portland! You'll save some money by staying in the suburbs and driving into Portland or taking one of the MAX trains (instead of paying through the nose for a room in the middle of town)! read more

The hotel itself is clean but reservation line and the front desk guaranteed pricing for the rooms for three rooms booked at the same time and did not honor the rate. We tried to work with the front desk and the resolution center to no avail no one took responsibility. We booked 7 rooms for a total of 15 room nights. Each room rate was different and varied greatly. At the time of the booking, we were guaranteed rates which were not honored. The front desk was hostile and made no attempts to rectify the problem often only exacerbating the issue with questions of why wasn't it a group booking. When the initial reservation was made the person who was in charge of group booking was away and never returned my calls I have assured the rates I was given would be honored for all in our party. I am very disappointed and have canceled our membership and would advise against any group bookings. Likely okay if passing through as those who had no reservation were given better rates. No repeat business to come. When I asked to speak to the GM I was told I would have to phone Portland Chamber of Commerce to get the name and call back? From both the front desk and the resolution line? read more

Sometimes there is just that last hotel you have to book because there's nothing else and this place seems to be it. First off they charge you an arm and a leg for the most basic of services. 308 dollars was about 6 times what the hotel room was worth. The cable only went up to channel 35. The sheets and pillows were dirty. The shower was low pressure but the tub filled up for no reason. The hallways smelled like weed and mixed wonderfully with the room that smelled of shit not even mentioning the fact that the carpet had vomit on it right outside of the elevator. At night the other people are super loud and im pretty sure I saw four guys with prostitutes. All in all i would rather push my mother who's in a wheelchair down 30 flights of stairs then stay here one more night. read more

They stole a valuable sweater that I left in my room. There seemed to be a lot of housekeepers in training that were young. I definitely left a nice sweater on a chair with something valuable in the pocket and I called later that day to pick it up- no sweater, no documentation. I called a half dozen times to clarify- no sweater. The sweater and the necklace inside the pocket was worth more than a two nights stay. I don't usually write reviews like this, and it may be pointless as they are a large corporation, and with a 1.5 star rating on Yelp they still have many guests. Also, the other reviewer was not wrong- they have bed bugs. read more

We stayed at the Quality Inn in Gresham Oregon on March 17th. We came down as a group as judges and referees for a Karate tournament being held there. In addition to having a clean room and great service at the front desk I needed to have some important documents sent from my phone to a head official for upgrading my certification for refereeing, so the paperwork was mandatory. I was given a phone by my son who upgraded his and unfortunately I was not very savvy with how to use it. A front desk attendant named Gisselle helped guide me through the process and educated me at the same time. This was after cleaning up a large water spill someone previously left on the keyboard and around the computer area where the printer was located. I was able to make copies of what I needed and send a text with the necessary documents on time. The entire stay down in Oregon was successful do to the efforts of this employee. I have had the WORST experience with the Quality Inn in Gresham, Oregon! There staff has the worst customer service I have ever encountered! I have tried to get resolution from the hotel management. But, instead of trying to talk to me about my issue, I was called a liar and was hung up on by the general manager of the hotel! I CANNOT believe this is the way Choice Hotels management treats their customers! I am still hoping for some resolution on charges. My family ended up with no place to stay, money taken out of our account, money being on hold from our account, and no help from staff in regards to trying to aid with the issue!
