An outdoorsy camping lodge feel with access to all the local amenities like Red Lobster, Vooodoo Donuts and Ross Dept store. This lodge has it all. Comfy beds, spacious gorgeous river rock/slate type showers, well stocked keurig coffee machine, flat screen tv and very spacious room with king size bed. Easy check in at front desk. There's also complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate the front staff make by request. This is a very large gorgeous lodge with built in logs and granite/volcanic rocks throughout their property. You feel like you're in the middle of the woods in a log cabin, but you're not (lol). One of the best features is the serenade of birds over the speakers throughout the day. Tranquility is the word that comes to mind when you stay here. There was a very large group of homeschoolers for some type of retreat but they were all very well mannered and not rowdy at all in comparison to other experiences we have had with large kid groups staying in the same hotel as us. Would've been nice if there were more healthy options in their small store and the prices were hefty. We saw the prices and did not purchase. Absolutely appreciated the free water station. Overall this was a very nice comfy stay for us. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to all. The price of the rooms were super comparable and worth the cost. read more

We've stayed here some years ago, and again last week. This is a beautiful hotel, themed like a campground lodge in the Pacific Northwest. They have at least two elevators, which is a big plus. We had a king bedroom, with a very comfortable bed, microwave, fridge and Keurig coffee maker. Very nice, everything in great condition, although a grab bar in the shower would be nice. They have a gym, pool and hot tub, all well-equipped. The hot tub was wonderful. There's also a small restaurant/bar inside (breakfast was not included in our stay), a koi pond outside, and coffee, tea and hot chocolate available behind the front desk (they make it for you). The Heathman Lodge is a lovely and comfortable place to stay while in Vancouver. Check it out. read more

We booked a dog friendly room. Our little dog has stayed with us many times in motel rooms. This was a nice, large room except the sofa was very old with peeling upholstery and stains which appeared to be large spills or dog pee. We covered it with a blanket. Surely management could at least invest in some cheap slipcovers. It made us feel very devalued and we will not stay here again. Beware of you are traveling with your dog and choose somewhere else. Its too bad as the rest of the room was nice. read more

I enjoyed my one-night stay at The Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, WA. Staff was incredibly polite and helpful. The room (king-sized bed) was basic and clean, with both a mini-fridge and a microwave, which was much appreciated. The area felt quiet and safe, sort of next to a corporate business park area. The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas and I loved the rustic vibe. (I especially love how they captured the rustic/woodsy vibes without defaulting to the creepy moose/elk/deer heads that you see in so many "lodges.") They also played birdsong in the hallways, which was pleasant (you can't hear it in the rooms themselves so no worries if you're the type who needs silence to sleep). I also went down to use the pool, hot tub, and dry sauna. These were a bit dated, but good-sized. In the early morning it was very quiet and tranquil, but by 9:30am it was filled with kids behaving badly, splashing everyone in the hot tub, doing cannonballs into the main pool even though a lady was working nearby on her laptop, just total disregard for others and zero adult supervision. It would be epic if The Heathman implemented a couple of "adults only" hours for the pool/hot tub, maybe one in the morning and one at night, so we didn't have to deal with disruptive behavior from poorly-supervised kids. The dry sauna also did not heat very quickly so I gave up on it within 10 minutes, but that could just be because people weren't aware of it so not using it regularly (it's tucked in the gym area, not the pool area). Still a great place to stay and I would definitely go back. I didn't try the restaurant but it looked cute. read more

The heathman is a hotel with a lodge feeling and decor. It is very clean and welcoming, you feel like you are walking into a log cabin. We were greeted immediately by a very nice gal. Our room was on the 3rd floor just near the elevator. As you exit the elevator you hear birds chirping, making you feel like you're outside. Although close to the elevator, our room was quiet and well stocked. Coffee machine, microwave and mini fridge. We stayed in a deluxe room with a sofa and desk. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The room was comfortable and had a nice hvac system to control the heat and AC. Plenty of lighting options in the room and a couple of locks on the door to make you feel safe. Staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Free coffee and tea 24/7 at the front desk. Plenty of parking onsite. Very pleasant atmosphere. Restaurant onsite, Hudson's bar and grill had the best breakfast, plenty for two to share. Close to the 205 and local shopping. This is the second time I've stayed at the Heathman Lodge and I always love staying here. It's very close to so many eating options and the mall. Close to the freeway, and plenty of coffee shops. I love the lodge feel, and the birds chirping in the hallway. They have a nice pool and jacuzzi. Hudson's is also a wonderful place for a nice and yummy dinner or breakfast! The shower was big but a little grimy in the corners and there was little water pressure. That was the only complaint. The front desk lady let me check in early with a 25 dollar free since it was 2 hour before check in time, which is steep but it's their policy so that's on me. The room was clean and very spacious with a ton of storage, microwave, fridge and keurig! Definitely will stay here again. read more

The women at your front desk were very kind and thoughtful a delight to work with. The room was clean and comfortable. There were just a couple of issues. I love to swim and the area around the pool was dirty the pool water was cloudy and there seemed to be a lot of flies floating in the pool yuck!. The second issue is that we were there for 4 days and we did put out the sign once to have someone come in and clean and that was never addressed we were living with a heap of used towels and a lot of piled up trash.Could the laundry room possibly be supplied with a bin for trash and used linen?The last thing which was minor is the elevator smelled horrible maybe a quick daily refresher is needed. I've stayed at the Heathman six times over the years. I just returned from a seven night stay. Upside: The hotel is very charming. It truly looks like a large log cabin. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, there is bird song piped in to the hallways. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The daytime front desk staff are lovely. Very friendly. Downside: the rooms need an update. There are no usb charging ports. They don't want to clean your room every day, and you have to specifically ask them to clean it daily. When they do clean it, the service is unreliable. Sometimes you have all the towels that you need, sometimes they leave no towels, etc.. when you go down to the front desk at night to ask for additional towels, or bars of soap, the staff was not friendly or kind. The showerhead in our room had the worst water pressure I've ever experienced in a hotel. The pillows were hard as rocks. If you're a person who likes a soft pillow, I highly recommend bringing your own. I will stay at the Heathman again, because it's the nicest hotel that is close to our destination. But I hope things get better there. read more

What a beautiful, homey place to stay! We only got to stay for one night, but if we ever have another excuse to be in the area, we will for sure be staying here again! This place seriously has the best water pressure I have ever seen from a hotel! Staff was super friendly, check-in and out was easy, loved that the little gift shop has drink and snack options. Our room was clean, a little aged if anything, but definitely one of the cleaner hotels I have stayed in. Bed was comfortable, heard no noise from neighboring rooms, bathroom was spotless! Out of convenience, we ate at the Hudson Restaurant on the lobby floor, I am so glad we did! Amazing food, kind staff, fair prices for the quality of the food! We filled our bellies then waddled up to our room, it was so nice. Love the theme throughout the entire building. Highly enjoyed the bird noises in the hallway! I grew up in Hazel Dell and I come back to Vancouver once or twice a year to visit friends. My 50th High School reunion is coming up this August and we are staying (again) at the Heathman Lodge. This is the only place we will stay in Vancouver. It has the ambiance and charm of a mountain lodge, but in the city. We get a balcony suite since the rooms are all non-smoking, not that we smoke cigarettes. The place is clean, upscale, and friendly and Hudson's Bar and Grill is a good restaurant for either breakfast, happy hour, or a nice dinner. read more

We were invited for a free event, and it was being held here. I am just reviewing the room, staff, food and the restroom. I ordered the Salmon, hubby the beef. Photo, below for our dishes. My Salmon came with steamed vegetables, salad, bread, & cheesecake. The greens on my steamed vegetables (bitter). There was one I thought was kale, looked burned, so I tasted it, and it was sweet. I didn't finish the greens. I ate only half of everything, only because I filled myself with water & bread, and not really hungry, but more thirsty (even before dinner started). Otherwise, everything was very good, except the greens that was bitter. The beef came with scalloped potatoes, with cooked green beans, salad, bread & cheesecake. The steak was served with pan sauce added a delicious flavor, however, the steak was rare and rather 'tough'. The potatoes I LIKE! Dinner was served promptly. Servers very friendly! Neat & clean environment. Warm & inviting. The restroom was long & had sections for diaper changing, and enough hand drying hanging mechanism. While I was drying my hand, the one lady in the restroom stopped by me, to compliment me on my hair (with a European accent). While I was outside, talking to my husband about what she said, another lady (from our group) interrupts us, to compliment me on my hair. UPDATE: 1. The next day, hubby made a sandwich from the leftover beef. Thinly sliced, it was delicious! 2. My salmon went in my Top Ramen noodles, and with the vegetables, all cut smaller pieces. I think this method, was more BETTER than any Thai noodles I've eaten! I'm glad, I had my appetite back, and finished it all gone! read more

We pulled up and I was instantly impressed by the outside and the lobby. Looked great! We got up to the room and the beds and decor looked basic. Meh, it was fine. We had kids that wanted to check out the pool. The pool was decent with a hot tub. It is attached to the gym. Kids said the pool was cold but the hot tub was nice. Once we were done we headed upstairs. After taking showers and finally settling in, we noticed the grossest thing. I really wanna gag just typing this. There was a wall of what looks like bloody boogers. My husband went downstairs and showed them pictures. They moved us to another room which looked cleaner but upon further inspection, there was some snot art on the walls in the other room. It's not as big and noticeable as the other room and we didn't complain, but still. Ew. I had higher expectations for this place. People have said it's great place to stay. My sister in law is next door and she has a balcony. They said the door is leaking water and the floor is wet so they laid towels down. We are here after our grandmas memorial and I wish we didn't have to deal with these issues. read more

We were in an ADA room with 2 queens. It was beautiful. The bathroom was a wet room with a zero entry shower. Delicious, free craft coffee at the front desk. But it was the staff that did it. We decided to spend our Labor Day weekend at the Heathman Lodge on a whim. We weren't expecting much since it's in a busy part of Vancouver but were pleasantly surprised. All of the staff were friendly and helped us check in quickly. Our room overlooked a wooded area and had a rustic lodge like feel. Even as a native to the northwest I am still amazed by the beauty of the greenery. The lodge was clean, spacious and had plenty of parking. There were even several spots for EV Charging which is a plus. The kids enjoyed s swimming in the pool and of course searching for Bigfoot. My youngest wanted to take him home but we explained that he needed to stay at his home or he would get homesick. I wish they would sell similar ones in their little gift shop! I love the location of this lodge. Close proximity to Vancouver Mall and close to the freeway. Room is pretty spacious and clean. I knocked off 1 star because I found some nuts under the chair inside of my room. The other reason is the lack of organization for their to-go order table/area. Placed to go order twice and it was confusing process. Hovered around wondering who is taking the order and when or where order will be available. As a result, during both occasions, customers including myself stood around staring each other with our confused faces lol. The 2nd time, I left after 10 mins. Overall, I would still recommend this lodge for the cleanliness, location and friendly front desk staff. Oh and a nice staff, came out and helped clear the snow off my window. After a long day of traveling we arrived at the Heathman Lodge ready to crash into our beds. The front desk staff informed us their computer system was down so it took a while to get checked in. When we arrived at our room we were met with an unclean room and all its filth. So back down we to the front desk. Another 20 minutes of waiting for another room we finally were able to get some sleep! The next day we went to front desk the to double check our reservations for the remainder of our stay. Of course that was messed up also. Told, they would call us later to confirm our request for the remainder of our stay. They did not! Again, back to the front desk! Breakfast in the Hudson Bay Grill was 3 stars. We had a large table for dinner also and the service was good and the food was 4 stars. In the end we probably won't be staying here again. The Heathman used to be a name of respect in the area! Seems to have fallen down into another chain style hotel. Attached a few pics of the quality of our room! The best place to stay in Vancouver with or without dogs. Since I travel with my dogs I love that they have dedicated a section of the hotel to pet friendly rooms with hard floors and easy access to the pet relief area. The service is excellent. The rooms really make you feel like you're in the mountains. It's like a little Oasis in Vancouver. Also to note is that their room service is excellent. A truly wonderful place to stay. read more

Patrick, The issue is not that the Heathman didn't communicate Hudson's hours. The issue is that (a) the Heathman did not communicate that on December 24th you needed a reservation to eat at Hudson's all day (b) that room service or takeout were not options for Heathman guests on December 24th, making those of us without reservations (which the Heathman again never told us about) with no way to get food at the Heathman and (c) despite the front desk offering no help for the first two issues, had no problems getting their own family in to eat -- without any reservations. I would say (d) is that the Heathman did nothing to acknowledge the problem, rectify the problem or try to compensate us for the problem. And as for housekeeping, again the issue is not that you have to request housekeeping -- it's that no one on the staff communicates that to the guests. I took a star away for your snarky, condensing response, for which there seems to be a lot of in your responses to other reviews both here and Trip Advisor. Clearly your attitude has filtered down to your staff. read more

I stayed for 2 nights. Night two was a last minute decision so I stayed in two different rooms during my 2 nights with you. Night one, Floor 3, King Suite w/ balcony. Night two, Floor 4, King room. Comments are for both rooms unless indicated: Terrible water pressure in shower, rinsing body and hair was near impossible. Scratchy bath towels. Not enough USB ports at bedside. Plenty of pillows, all but one or two were exactly the same: old and poly-filled lumpy lumps. Floor four room had a spring mattress (which it does state on your website), but, it was stiff and not very comfortable. TV response to remote, seriously slow. It's a lovely hotel with lovely staff. There are no other hotels in area of this high caliber, so yes, Id stay again. But, it sure would be nice to have these items upgraded. read more

We recently stayed at the Heathman Lodge, as my husband was doing a murder mystery for one of the events there. The lodge is beautiful with its woodsy decor, and all the staff are very kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with easy access to the business center and the vending machines. Price was reasonable. Considering it was near Christmas, the decorations were tasteful and beautiful. We ate at the restaurant, Hudsons. Seems ok, until something goes wrong. Had an ok dinner, spent an ok night in our ok room. We came out in the morning to find our trailer broken into, and our possessions stolen and rifled through. Heirlooms, keepsakes gone after thousands of miles on the road to retrieve them; one night at the Heathman is all it took to erase months of planning and weeks of effort. Evidently, several other vehicles in the parking lot suffered the same fate. The front desk treated this as a very routine matter; they claim no responsibility for the security of their parking lot. Apparently this sort of thing happens all the time here. They would not let us view the camera footage, either. Got to protect the privacy of those thieves, you know. I wonder if they get kickbacks from the proceeds... Your property is not safe here. You may not be safe here either. A night at the Heathman may result in a day waiting for the police to show up, your family in tears, and being significantly worse off than when you went to bed the night before. Don't worry, the staff will be there to smirk at your circumstance and offer no help whatsoever. The restaurant is pretty good though. read more

Easily one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The hotel itself has so much character and I definitely prefer something like that over a modernized everything. My trip was quite short, so I didn't get to experience much but the restaurant seemed to be popular. Service was great and easy. The room was clean and very spacious. Great place to stay when making an overnight stop for an early flight out of Portland. So close to Portland!! Charming lodge-style accommodations. Appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine. The Heathman Lodge use to be a good place to stay. Have stayed numerous times. Through the years management has changed and they do not care about any issues that arise. It did not use to be this way. They removed my account that gave a discount for returning business. Signed up for a new account, checked room prices, almost took a room until I saw they have now added on a $10.00 parking fee to park in their parking lot! Ridiculous, and they don't tell you this upfront. Because of this hidden fee we will be staying at the Double Tree, free parking like ALL the other Hotels in Vancouver. read more

The hotel is beautiful and within proximity to all the great attractions Oregon has to offer. I was hesitant to book this Lodge after reading the yelp reviews but based on Expedia reviews I went ahead with it. I am glad I did. The front staff is friendly and nice, the coffee is amazing, and the parking is convenient. Patrick, the hotel manager, was amazing! He helped us right away with getting the room cleaned and offered a stuffed toy to the toddler. The rooms are a little outdated but not to the extent that it makes the stay miserable. The only complaint I had was that the bed creaked a lot with the slightest movement which made it hard to sleep with a toddler. Tip: Request cleaning when you need it as it is not done daily. We were there for 4 nights and requested cleaning twice. read more

Hosted a convention over the weekend of over 200 individuals at this hotel. The staff were very courteous, the meeting spaces were exactly as we expected. The food served for our conference was average. However, the most disappointing part of my personal experience at the Heathman was the bedbug found in my bed. This caused me to have to leave the hotel and commute to this event daily. In addition, it caused my spouse to have an alergic reaction. The most disappointing part of this experience was the denial of the hotel in regards to this issue. I guess a video showing the bug crawling across the bed is not enough evidence to take responsibility. In addition, I had to personally announce that two of our guest rooms had possible bedbugs to our entire convention and deal with the fall-out of this experience for our ;attendees. read more
