What's not to like about this place. The bed slept great, pillows were fluffy and the breakfast was hot.

Absolutely amazing customer service!…read more I recently stayed here for over a week, and the level of customer service and amenities I received while here were absolute amazing! The staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. The front desk was very helpful with my many requests, and the room service crew was beyond par with their customer service. Absolutely thankful with the level of customer service I received while here. The breakfast is also the best hotel breakfast I've ever had (And I've been to many). Definitely recommend this place as a rest stop while in town!

Very disappointing stay -- not what I expected from Best Western Plus…read more I normally don't take the time to write reviews like this, but this stay was bad enough that I feel like other people should know what they may be getting. We paid for a King Suite with a jacuzzi, expecting a comfortable room and a decent experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we got. Because the room was large, it had two AC units, but only one of them was working. The room stayed very warm, and to make matters worse, love bugs were coming into the room through the AC unit in the jacuzzi area. In about 45 minutes, I killed around 30 of them. Definitely not something you expect after paying for a suite. The water also took forever to get warm. Throughout the room, there were several things that were obviously overdue to be replaced or updated. The phone in the room didn't work either, so we couldn't even call the front desk or the local number. I had to walk all the way down to the front desk to let them know about the problems. The only option they gave us was to move to a regular King Suite without the jacuzzi. I asked about getting a refund for the difference in price since we had paid for the jacuzzi suite, but I was told that I had already gotten a "good rate." I asked if they could contact the owner. The owner/manager got on the phone for maybe a minute and then hung up. The front desk attendant then repeated that our only option was to move to the standard King Suite and that they could not compensate us or provide the same type of room. At that point, because the room was so hot, we accepted the move. We were then told that we had to take all of our luggage down to the front desk, turn in our keys, and then they would give us the keys to the new room. Not exactly an easy process when you're already frustrated and have all of your belongings packed up. The second room at least had working AC, but that came with its own problems. Some of the buttons on the TV remote worked and some didn't. Then we laid down in the bed and quickly realized there was another issue. One side of the mattress was noticeably worn down, and my wife's side was actually sunken in like the springs had failed. Neither of us got much sleep, and we both had back pain the next day. By that point, we were exhausted and honestly just didn't have the energy to go back down and complain again. Then there was the "free breakfast," which was bad enough that we decided to leave and find a local restaurant instead. I understand that things can occasionally go wrong at a hotel. What really bothered me was the lack of effort to make things right. We paid for a specific room and ended up having to move because the room wasn't reasonably comfortable, we weren't offered a refund for the difference, and the replacement room had its own issues. Overall, this was a miserable stay and nowhere near the experience I expected for what we paid. I would strongly recommend checking the condition of the room and making sure everything is actually working before unpacking, especially if you're paying extra for one of the suites.

I threw a 13 year old Slumber Party and the hotel manager and staff fulfilled all of my requests within reason. Wanted to personally say thank you to Front Desk receptionist Summer for tolerating the teenagers questions and helping them with their Scavenger Hunt. Both rooms that I had were great. Housekeeping staff were understanding and assisted me with cleanup (yes, I know it's their job but to clean up after 9 teenage girls isn't in their job description). The buffet style continental breakfast was great as well. Indoor pool facility was wonderful. Really no complaints at all.

The truth is that I had heard the stories from previous years of the shenanigans that happened in the barracks so I booked myself a hotel room. I had luck with Comfort Suites in the past so here is where I chose. This hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There was also food offered in the evenings and breakfast in the morning free of charge. In the evening the food was jambalaya and the morning was the typical free breakfast at business travel hotels. If you find yourself in Leesville and don't want to stay in the barracks with a bunch of assclowns, Comfort Suites should be on your radar.

I rarely travel to Leesville, but when I have, I would much prefer to stay in a hotel rather than where work books for me. The last time I was there, I stayed in a Comfort Suites that I am not sure even exists anymore. I searched high and low, and this Hampton is the only chain hotel name that I recognized. Since I prefer Marriott properties and find them very consistent, I chose this location. The reviews scared me a little, but I said what the hell? After my stay, I say what the hell indeed! A few weeks before my stay, I received a concerning phone call. Apparently, their elevator was out of service, and they wanted me to know. It is pretty odd that an elevator would be out for an extended time, but I guess they knew more than they let on. I figured I would ask for a ground-floor room, but nope, all full. The second floor is the best we can do. Upon arrival very late in the evening, I was a little sketched out driving between the car dealership and what appeared to be a sketchy apartment complex. There was a couple making out furiously at the back of a car without a care in the world, so I guess it was safer than it looked. I entered a hotel that was definitely under some sort of renovation or something. The clerk was very nice and said she had no clue when the elevator would be fixed. No worries. My room was on the second floor, and my bag only weighed about 50 pounds. Imagine my surprise when I went to check out the room and discovered there was no hand soap. I went to the front desk, and she told me they were awaiting a delivery and she would try to find me a bar. She did, and back to the room I went. I should mention that there were about six old AC units in the stairway stacked on top of one another. Weird. The room was relatively large and decently set up. There was no wifi because why would there be? Apparently, there was some unknown issue with it, too, according to the clerk. There was much weirdness in this place. For example, the door to the parking lot that remains locked 24/7, and you need to use your key to enter? Unlocked 24/7. What else? The biggest weirdness was that my door had to be pulled shut to lock. I noticed this on my first time in the room. You would think the housekeeping people would know that too. Nope. One day, I returned to my room around 8 pm only to find the door closed but not all the way. It had been unlocked all day! I searched through my things, and it did not appear that anything was missing, but what in the actual hell, Hampton? When I mentioned it to the clerk the next day, they seemed unsurprised. I am hopeful this place gets it together. If you have to stay in Leesville, you may end up here. Check your door and bring your own soap.

The lobby, front desk staff and breakfast area are all great. Very friendly staff. Breakfast area is clean with a good layout and furniture. Typical continental breakfast, a lot of options, but you get what you expect in terms of generic 'scrambled eggs' and flimsy greasy bacon. Everything was in good working order though. The low star rating is because of my room. Leftover trash in various spots around my room. The bathroom was extremely dated and worn. The shower 'shelf' normally available for bar soap was missing and the scare on the wall was evident. The bar soap is the smallest soap I have ever scene. I have low expectations when staying at IHG properties these days and knew coming to this small town that is a military fueled region would likely provide low overall standards. Again, the staff was amazing, just wish they would invest in some upgrading for the rooms.

No complaints about rooms, hallways and facilities (built 2012); clean & well kept, showing little wear. Well-arranged - featuring walnut headboard and very large walnut shelf/counter/enclosure for the tv - quite luxurious. Single-serve coffee maker, "Community Coffee;" small fridge w/ no freezer portion; no microwave; large screen tv w/ lots of channels; bathis large, clean, well-maintained. Strangely, the A/C made the room TOO COOL!? We finally got room warmed up to 83℉ (adjusting the thermostat overnight) on the first night. Overall, there's limited things to do here and in the surrounding area: casino (it is large w/ lots of slots, live poker etc.) plus restaurants and the Dream Pool w/ its "lazy river." The pool is shallow (no deep end) and has a shallower kiddy wading area close to deck chairs, plus a swim-up bar. One beach towel is provided per person. We stayed 2 nights and did it all (no kids). Seven Clans has no staffed lobby, so it is about 400' +/- away to reach the lobby which serves the new Legacy Tower Hotel and Casino entrance. Conversely, since the pool area is out east beyond the Seven Clans, it actually is the closest access from the rooms. You can park near the front or rear sides of Seven Clans for off-loading, etc. Big Sky Restaurant is exceptional - an upscale setting (expensive) and well-presented, ample meals; it's a formal table setting: 2 forks, appetizers: tasty bread w 2 spreads (butter & c. cheese/pepper jelly), softshell crab on paste. The food tasted great! It's a relaxing setting, small cozy cubicle (would seat 4-5 adults). very quiet (with few customers @ 5-5:30 before the crowds arrive). A large Starbucks is off the lobby. Also available for breakfast, lunch, dinner are: the Terrace Café sit-down, cafeteria style; the Lagniappe Café self-serve type cafeteria; and Noodles Asian Restaurant.
