This may be the weirdest hotel that I have ever visited. Since Leesville is one of the weirdest towns I have ever visited, I should not be surprised that the hotels are weird too. I rarely travel to Leesville, but when I have, I would much prefer to stay in a hotel rather than where work books for me. The last time I was there, I stayed in a Comfort Suites that I am not sure even exists anymore. I searched high and low, and this Hampton is the only chain hotel name that I recognized. Since I prefer Marriott properties and find them very consistent, I chose this location. The reviews scared me a little, but I said what the hell? After my stay, I say what the hell indeed! A few weeks before my stay, I received a concerning phone call. Apparently, their elevator was out of service, and they wanted me to know. It is pretty odd that an elevator would be out for an extended time, but I guess they knew more than they let on. I figured I would ask for a ground-floor room, but nope, all full. The second floor is the best we can do. Upon arrival very late in the evening, I was a little sketched out driving between the car dealership and what appeared to be a sketchy apartment complex. There was a couple making out furiously at the back of a car without a care in the world, so I guess it was safer than it looked. I entered a hotel that was definitely under some sort of renovation or something. The clerk was very nice and said she had no clue when the elevator would be fixed. No worries. My room was on the second floor, and my bag only weighed about 50 pounds. Imagine my surprise when I went to check out the room and discovered there was no hand soap. I went to the front desk, and she told me they were awaiting a delivery and she would try to find me a bar. She did, and back to the room I went. I should mention that there were about six old AC units in the stairway stacked on top of one another. Weird. The room was relatively large and decently set up. There was no wifi because why would there be? Apparently, there was some unknown issue with it, too, according to the clerk. There was much weirdness in this place. For example, the door to the parking lot that remains locked 24/7, and you need to use your key to enter? Unlocked 24/7. What else? The biggest weirdness was that my door had to be pulled shut to lock. I noticed this on my first time in the room. You would think the housekeeping people would know that too. Nope. One day, I returned to my room around 8 pm only to find the door closed but not all the way. It had been unlocked all day! I searched through my things, and it did not appear that anything was missing, but what in the actual hell, Hampton? When I mentioned it to the clerk the next day, they seemed unsurprised. I am hopeful this place gets it together. If you have to stay in Leesville, you may end up here. Check your door and bring your own soap. read more

Hotel does NOT extend government rate to contractors. Would not recommend to government contractors, however the IHG 50 meters down the road does and is owed by the same person. The kid at the desk was uninterested in assisting me. Even my Boss at Corprate called him and told me that he Sucks! I have been staying here for the past 12 yrs off and on between here and the IHG down the road for JRTC supporting Soldiers. I wish I would have read other reviews first like Bobby B. etc and found out. Now that I have wasted my time scheduling this on my Travel Expense Report and now have to change hotels. Fellow CTRS do not stay here if Ian is working, he is a typical Leesville local without common since and about half a brain. read more

This place is nasty. The staff is nasty. I stay at Hilton all across the US. This is the worst Hilton there is. Stained carpet Mold in shower. Pee all over the bottom of the toilet. Ask to have room cleaned. Did not happen. bought sheets so i would not get bed bugs. Would not stay here again, would sleep under a bridge. Hands down the worst hotel stay I have ever had! Im a moderate traveler with about 60-75 hotel nights in the past 12 mos. This stay was sooooo disappointing. I'll start by saying there was a hiccup with my booking that was all my fault. The lady at the desk was super nice but un-empowered. The booking was corrected (through hotels.com), but the Hampton Inn worker wasn't "authorized" to do anything. She mentioned several times that her manager (who would be back Monday) was the only one "authorized" to do anything other than check customers in and out. I'd offer that if you leave an employee to work on their own all weekend empower them to be able to take care of customers. Now I'll get to the hotel. The outside was beautiful. I entered the lobby and it was what I expect from the Hampton brand. Beautifully designed and well appointed. So it was disappointing to see that it was not being kept up. It's a fairly new property with filth and stains everywhere. The chairs in the entryway were stained, the carpet was stained, the deco pillows had holes, and the lobby and elevator as a whole just looked completely neglected. I eventually got to my room where I was greeted by hair on my sheets and mold caulking in the shower. I think you get my point. The last straw was the spoiled pineapple at the complementary breakfast. This hotel needs new management ASAP. It has potential to be great, but it's not. read more

I noticed at checkout that there were two erroneous charges for premium internet on my bill. I brought the issue up to the staff at the front desk. They told me that they were not allowed to take the charge off of my bill. I said that I knew other hotels allowed the front desk staff to do things like this.... silence. I said that I understood micromanaging, (the person helping me took a deep breath then changed the subject). He left a note for said supervisor, Kristian Roddy. She refused to help. I explained that I did not use the premium service. I am an honors member, and have used the complimentary Wi-Fi many times. I used only my phone, and tablet, and that there was no large data usage; therefore no reason to use the premium service. She continued to talk in circles; saying that she would not help me. I don't know why my cell phone makes the glitch happen, but I do know how to use the system to request complimentary Wi-Fi. read more

I only give a one because I can't give 0. This was the worst stay I have ever had. The staff Tina and manager made racist comments. When we ask for our money back the manager called the police. We were not doing anything beside requesting our money back. This was made the situation terrible They also lied to us and they were very unprofessional. The floors were dirty and the room keys would not work. The rooms wall paper was come off and the air conditioner was apart when we came in and no maid service and the coffee pot was dirty. For a small town near a military installation, with a difficult to see sign that is overpowers by the Holiday Inn Express, I feel that this is the best hotel in Leesville for the money. The staff here is very welcoming and assisted us with all ours needs. Always a hot breakfast in the mornings with plenty to choose from. They kept Hot coffee and water assessable 24/7 The rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. No complaints about the cleanliness of this hotel. I happen to draw the short stick and worked the night shift (6pm-6am) during my three-week stay here. I had my Do Not Disturb sign on the door during the days while I was sleeping. The first couple nights I stayed, house keeping either knocked or called to see if I needed anything, thus waking me out of my deep slumber. But after i contact the front desk of my schedule, these interruptions ended. I didn't have any change of towels for the first couple of nights due to my work schedule, but on one afternoon before I left for work, I opened up the door to go to find a basket full of towels and sundries, big smile here! So I changed out my towels and left my trash outside the door. A couple days later I came back after work earning in the morning and found that a housekeeping named Laya took care of me and provided house cleaning services at 7:30 pm while i was working, she left a nice warm welcoming note for my return. Thank you Laya, you just earned this hotel it's fifth star. I was very pleased with my stay at the Hampton and their very courteous Staff. A special Thank You goes out to Laya for making my stay even more comfortable. pros: hospitality and warm breakfast Cons: Bad Telephone reception (AT&T). Located just off the highway with easy access to Fort Polk, this new hotel boasts tastefully decorated rooms and a friendly staff. The free breakfast is the usual scrambled eggs or salty cheese omelet, while the do-it-yourself waffles is always my favorite. The variety of breakfast items is at least better than those of their competitors. 5 stars for cleanliness, quietness, convenience, friendliness of the staff, and internet speeds (both wireless and wired). I'm not sure if all rooms have a microwave oven and refrigerator, but this was a great addition for long stays here. read more

The hotel looks brand new and is extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and the decor is modern and calming. I stay at lots of hotels... this is one of the best, especially considering it is a town with one national chain restaurant that isn't fast food. The rooms are well appointed, consistently clean and well maintained. The staff is always helpful and attentive. I cannot understand some of the negative reviews... They don't call it SLeesville for nothing! I found hair in the shower and on the shower walls, and housekeeping was not surprised! The carpet is stained all over. There are cigarette burn- looking stains everywhere and liquid-like stains all over the carpets. I understand they have light-colored carpets (grey, lavender and green), but the other reviews were right to complain. I took pictures for fear they would charge me a fraudulent fee for the preexisting stains. This hotel has a shady attitude. They couldn't understand the concept of direct billing and therefore they refused to register the room in my name nor would they link my Hilton Honors number to the reservation which would have given me the Hilton Honors points that I anticipated. They did place a $50 hold on my personal credit card for incidental purchases such as a candy bar. Really? And then, a second front desk clerk decided to place an additional $25 on hold on the morning of my checkout. It's inly supposed to be $25/day, and I was only there 2 nights! This was a bit odd in how things were handled, and definitely not of a caliber that I have come to expect at a Hampton Inn. Funny thing is, even the locals don't recommend this hotel! I should have stayed at the neighboring property, Holiday Inn Express, which is newer and has a working swimming pool. I found it quite strange that a hotel would repaint the pool in the heat of the summer. I guess after all the other reviews (different website) complaining about the bacteria in the pool, well, maybe they just shut it down? Really, the hotel should just shut down! After all, they sent me to the Holiday Inn to use their pool. I only gave this place two stars because one of the front desk gals, Jess, was actually trying to be helpful throughout my 2 night stay. I would not recommend ever staying at this hotel, especially if you are traveling in from out of town and may encounter flight delays. Due to a 2 hour flight delay, I missed a connection into Alexandria on Sunday night and therefore was stranded in Dallas for the night. I called the hotel as soon as I landed in Dallas (9:15pm) to let them know that I would not be able to make it to the hotel since I was not able to make the connection. They proceeded to tell me that I would be charged a cancellation fee. Now, I would understand if I decided not to show up or cancel just because, but I physically could not be in Leesville that night due to the flight delay. I also could not call prior to 6pm because I was in the air on the first leg of my trip. Secondly, its not like I was cancelling my reservation all together. I was just going to show up a night late. Additionally, as a Diamond member, I would expect the GM to have some sense of customer service for their elite members. Tthe hotel and its GM should have some leeway on the policy and not charge a cancellation fee. I travel AT LEAST 2 weeks every month and stay exclusively at Hilton properties. You can only imagine how many flight delays/cancellations I've had over the years. Never, EVER have a been charged a cancellation fee due to flight delays/cancellations. Most hotels prefer to keep their elite members happy and not charge them a cancellation fee. After calling the Diamond Desk to complain about the charge, the GM called me to tell me he would not refund the cancellation fee. This hotel is in the business of taking people's money anyway they can. The GM has a complete lack of customer service skills. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. read more

To echo the previous review my M K., my experience with this hotel was much of the same. My flight into Alexandria was delayed a day due to mechanical issues with the plane. I contacted the front desk and asked to change and/or cancel my reservation to accommodate my travel plans. The front desk clerk, Brandy (who was extremely courteous I must say) told me that due to being within the 24hr cancellation window she would have to contact her GM to see if she could help me. Shortly thereafter, she called me back to tell me that I would have to pay the cancellation fee per her GM. This is bologna - I have NEVER had a problem canceling stays within the Hilton portfolio due to travel changes that were outside of my control. As a Hilton Gold member after only 6 months with the brand, I expect some give and take. GM - take a long hard look at the value of your loyal and repeat customers. The foundation of your business is built on us road dogs. I've stayed in this hotel 3 times in the last month, but I really doubt that I'll be back. Maybe making the switch from Marriott wasn't such a great idea after all. read more

Don't stay here! Lindsey at the front desk was rude on multiple occasions. They were more concerned with what they personally were doing rather than helping the hotel guest. I have stayed in multiple hiltons in the past and in fact I am diamond member as I stay in hotels at least six months per year. Her disinterest with helping the guest was supported by the manager who refused to honor my diamond perks of an upgrade (which was available). The maids did not honor the do not disturb sign on multiple occasions and barged into my room. On the weekend the hotel turned into party central with parents letting their children run up and down the hallways screaming, slamming doors, and knocking on doors til 2 am. Upon my complaints the manager wrote back that I was a liar. There is a holiday inn express next door and I will be staying there next time. I also not be staying at hiltons in the future as they apparently don't honor their own honors program. read more

Hampton Inn is the best place to stay in Leesville -- friendly, courteous, professional staff, clean and comfortable accommodations, and convenient location if traveling to the Fort Polk area. I've stayed in most of the hotels in the surrounding community, and this one is by far the best. Family and children friendly. read more
