Perfect stop for the night right off of I-80. Clean rooms, friendly staff, especially the woman who runs the breakfast room. There's a newer wing and there's an OLD wing. Do not stay in the OLD wing on the right hand side of the hotel! Old rooms, old wallpaper, disgusting bathrooms, (soap scud all over old yellow shower walls), gouges in the furniture and bed. read more

Best hotel breakfast we've ever had- lots of choices, food was plentiful and served the correct temperature. Current owners have been there a very short time but are making wonderful progress. After reporting that TV didn't work we stood by for 15-20min. while several staff members attempted to reset. No success. Then clerk realized we were given wrong room by check-in clerk. We moved from room 129 to room 128 and TV worked fine. WiFi is terrible and there didn't appear to be that many guests in hotel. Half of equip. in fitness room didn't work. New owner so we hope that place get improvements. Staff very nice. Clerk took $20 off bill for inconveniences. Room and bed were comfortable. read more

On my roadtrip across the country I decided to stop here. For the price it wasn't a bad room. The staff were fantastic to interact with and helped us even though we arrived at 2:30am. The room was overall pretty clean and the beds were comfy. The shower had great water pressure which people often overlook how nice that is. My only complaint is that the top blanket was dirty with a stain. It was late at night so I just slept without it. For a quick stop off I-80 this place isn't half bad. Be sure to check the bedding though. read more

Run don't walk away from this hotel. Dirty, loud, dogs barking- I stayed here with my dog and I'm a dog lover- had to change rooms because refrigerator was leaking water everywhere. Parking lot was disgusting. The only good thing I have to say is the receptionist checking us in was very nice, respectful, and helpful. read more

Where is the quality, Quality Inn? We stopped here on a cross-country trip based on favorable reviews on several travel sites. Don't believe anything written there! This hotel is run down (huge scary water stains on ceiling, wall coverings torn and frayed, trim and furniture nicked up) no elevator, refrigerator missing from its slot, not squeaky clean, no alarm clock, NO HAIRDRYER, iron but no ironing board, with hard-to-connect-to wifi and no hot breakfast even though the description blurb says HOT breakfast. The breakfast discrepancy could still be Covid related, but that doesn't account for bagels as hard as hockey pucks. Because of the low price, I could possibly overlook some of these shortcomings except for the behavior of the front desk clerk. This was the rudest check-in experience we've had in a long time. As elite club members we were supposed to get extra points or snacks at check-in. There's a placard on the desk to this effect. When we inquired, all we got was a stare and then a snarky reply. Note to owners--don't advertise something you're not going to provide! There were a few positives: there was a bed, it has a bathroom, always-on hvac fan, and French vanilla cream for coffee. Carpets feel damp and dirty, shower curtains have mold on them, the washer and dryer were busted, the pool looked like it was full of algae, air condition vents were very dingy, room smelled like smoke and musty, rust around the doors and outlets are cracked and missing plates. The plus side is they allow pets, the breakfast area and front desk area are really clean and attractive and the only staff that were so nice were Danielle, Tia and Tarra. The things that once attracted me to the quaint place are now non existent. My husband and I drive here all the way from NY and loved coming here. We started our journey as a family here and loved it so much, we even brought family here. Mind you we drive 5.5 hrs in traffic to get here. The area is quiet, something we look forward to. A change of oace from the hustle of the big city. We noticed since Covid and Karen leaving, this place as truly taken a bad turn. It breaks my heart to say it but we may not come back. I paid for the amenities and to smell smoke (which i feel shouldnt be allowed in a hotel as its not in NY) even in my room is a huge turn off. Of course on top of the other things. Also the housekeeping staff i can say are not doing a great job and most look like guests in the hotel, not employees. Its almost as if they simply just dont care. I hate that the place i drive so far for and was attracted by so many pluses has really declined. It breaks my heart but unless there are changes made, i will not be coming back. read more

I don't know what kind of person gives this place anything over a 1 star rating. The halls reek of cigarette smoke and it's obvious that the mattresses are holdovers from when smoking was allowed in the rooms. The room smelled better than the hallway but you could still catch whiffs of smoke when laying in the bed. Broken Formica was covered by contact paper. The microwave was filthy. There was mold all over the bath and faucet. One of the room keys didn't work the next morning. There was all kinds of debris behind the couch, which I'm sure was hard to move to vacuum behind, but you have to look behind it to turn on the floor light. Room was very dark, even with all the lights on. Maybe that was a blessing. Just disgusting. I don't know what we were thinking that we didn't leave immediately. My husband and I had a difficult time choosing between 3 and 4 stars. I think it's more of an overall 3 star expectation with a three star hotel...however we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel, the comfort of the beds and the nicely packaged treats for breakfast during a time when some hotels aren't providing anything due to covid. I don't particularly feel that I should rave about the pillows--they were strangely shaped and small on our bed, though there plenty of them. There was not any jacuzzi tub in the room--which I would never expect nor am I am upset about it's absence--just wanted to mention as there are numerous reviews claiming every room has them. The towels smelled clean but no frills or softener here, I still feel I got more than I expected based on a very reasonable price. This was the last of the hotels that has decent ratings that was not full at the late hour we checked in, so we were exceptionally pleased by the quality inn not price gouging. The pool looks like it would be so much fun to swim in on another day, though the murkiness this morning leads me to believe the PH or chlorine is out of balance. All in all, we are happy with our experience, we needed sleep and showers; and now we are rested and clean. Tip--if you can't get the tv to work, plug it in. read more

Nice, clean, comfortable and the price is great for what you get. We were amazed by this place since the hotel we stayed at the night before was dirty and old and this place was the exact opposite. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable and there was enough outlets on the sides of your bed to charge all your devices. They have a jacuzzi tub in each room and it was great. Beware!! This hotel does not have the AIR CONDISIONERS going in there rooms. You have to turn it on when you enter the room. Our family was there July 6.2023 at 10:00pm and as went to our room on the second floor it was getting very hot and then when in the room it was even hotter. We went to turn the Air Conditioner on and the front cover fell off. When it did come on it was only blowing a small amount of air. The man at the desk and I checked 3 other rooms and they were all the same, Air Conditioner off and extremely hot. He later gave us a room on the first floor (that did have the Air Conditioner on in the hall) so even though this room did not have its Air Conditioner on it was already cooler and the wall Air Conditioner worked. I spoke with the manager the next morning and he said that it was policy now not to have any Air Conditioner running, not even a little. He was not sympathetic about the heat but did give a discount due to the dirty room. We have stayed here every year for the past 4 years and this was the last. I am thankful for the night clerk, he was very helpful in getting us a room that was cool so we could sleep after a long drive. read more

We were on our way out to visit some family and needed a place to just crash for the night and recover. Most hotels we looked at were outrageous and then we found Quality Inn. We really didn't expect much when we drove up, however it was one of the nicer hotels we've stayed at. The room was clean, wasn't freezing and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff gave us some insight on where to grab food and gave us some coupons as well. The hotel has a nice warm pool almost similar to a giant hot tub which was great after a long drive. The morning breakfast was also great and had many options even some yummy apple cinnamon waffles! If we are ever out that way again to see family we may just crash there again! read more

Had one night stay in Clarion and couldn't get in the hotel door. The key that was given to us to enter didn't work. Once this was fixed the room was extremely cold had to leave to get the right temperature to reset and get back to normal little frustrated. Wanted to clean up before we headed out but room was below 60 degrees. The breakfast wasn't that great. Coffee was luke warm and no microwave in the pantry. Little inconvenience to go back to the room to heat up coffee. Not that much food available. Waffle maker. No batter. Rooms were clean and bathroom was clean. read more

We have returned to the Quality Inn in Clarion a number of times, because of the high-quality experience, beginning with reservations made directly with Patty at the hotel to cover specific requests. Check-in with Christine was efficient, as was the check-out, and the room was spotless. Our queen-size beds were covered in deluxe linens, and the bed was very comfortable. Multiple pillows were provided to choose from (from soft to firm). We slept well during our one-night stay and awoke refreshed. The hot breakfast was fine with an interesting selection, plus the opportunity to make and create your own waffle. This is a dog-friendly hotel, and there is plenty of grass surrounding the facility. Within a short walk, there is a shopping mall with several restaurants; an Aldi grocery is next to the turn onto Dolby Street to the hotel, which is off Route 68 (South 5th Ave), just North of I-80 Exit 62. read more

We have stayed at this hotel more than 20 times since 1998 and have been loyal customers. My family has had several parties in the meeting room and my extended family has stayed here dozens of times. The last few years the cleanliness, quality, and maintenance of this hotel has drastically gone downhill. But we always came back because we liked the staff and the pool. The staff we loved seem to be all gone. I don't recognize any of the staff now. My daughter got into the pool and within a few seconds yelled, "Eww! This is nasty!" I took a closer look and the water was brown. Pool desperately needs cleaned! We spent less than 5 minutes in the pool area. That was a huge disappointment since the kids always look forward to swim time when we come here. The refrigerator wasn't cold. The TV didn't work, so no cartoons for the kids either! The room outlets are stripped and don't work when plugging things in. We made 4 trips to the front desk and no less than a dozen calls to the desk our first night. Most of the calls went unanswered because the lady working the desk was always out front smoking. She acted annoyed like we were bothering her when we went to find her. Every time we talked to her, her story kept changing. She would promise us a fix, we would wait a while, then when we asked for an update she suddenly couldn't do anything for us. We caught her in several lies because she kept contradicting herself. We are not high maintenance guests either. This is the first time in 23 years I've had a terrible interaction with the desk staff at this hotel, all due to broken things in the room and a lieing, lazy, rude desk clerk. During our 2 day stay we witnessed several other guests at the desk with complaints of unanswered phone calls, maintenance issues, dirty or missing items, excessive noise, etc. The lady was constantly saying, "There's nothing I can do about it!" She said this to everyone. She was full of excuses with no willingness to help or even try to find a solution for anything. She needs customer service training since she doesn't know how to speak to guests and makes it known how much you're interrupting her smoke breaks and time hiding in the office. Heaven forbid you make her get up out of her office chair. She'll come huffing out to the desk with an attitude. Twice I caught her hanging out in the office ignoring the phone. It just kept ringing and ringing from other guests trying to reach her. The housekeeping and desk staff we interacted with during 1st shift were all very friendly. It's just this lazy, rude lady that works 2nd shift who really needs go. Maintenance and upkeep are also a huge issue. They don't seem to give each housekeeper a cart anymore to clean the rooms. Clean linens and cleaning supplies were sitting out in the halls in several laundry baskets. We watched a housekeeper get out of her car and pull a basket of cleaning supplies out of her car as she arrived for work. Please tell me the owner is not that cheap that housekeepers have to bring their own supplies to work! Mattresses are getting really old and worn out. The beds in our room are not comfortable because the springs are collapsing. 3 of our bath towels were stained. If bleach doesn't take the stain out of a white towel, THROW IT AWAY! The bathrooms need to be completely gutted and remodeled. The tubs, sinks, and mirrors are the same ones that were there many years ago when the hotel was new. Door frames are rusting, wood on doors are splitting, mold around the tub and baseboards, wallpaper is peeling, hairdryer is gone and all that's left are holes in the wall where it used to be. The tub is badly stained with a lot of built up soap scum. The ceiling in the lobby has big cracks and is peeling. The lobby and hallways have a strong mildew smell that hits you when you walk through the door. The hot breakfast has been replaced with low quality, prepackaged pastries. The juice is watered down. It used to be a great breakfast. I don't buy the whole "we took away the hot breakfast due to the pandemic" excuse. If it's safe enough for 20 guests to be in the breakfast room unmasked, standing 2 feet apart, grabbing cheap prepackaged pastries, then it's safe enough for us to grab a plate with a hot breakfast on it. It's just another excuse for the money-grubbing owner to save a few dollars. It is obvious that no money is being reinvested into the maintenance and upkeep of this hotel. The current owners are running this place into the ground. The entire hotel is in desperate need of a remodel and intense cleaning. All the things we used to love about this hotel are now gone. We have stayed here for the last time. It's time to be loyal guests to a different hotel. read more

Great rate, clean, quiet, super breakfast and pet friendly. I have stayed at all the hotels in the Clarion area at some point in the past few years. This spring we tried the Quality Inn and its our new favorite place to stay. The rates are among the lowest for this area but the amenities are great. Free coffee & cookies 24 hours. Free WiFi. Pool is always nice and warm. Rooms are clean. Staff is extremely helpful and addresses your concerns in a timely manner. Unlike another large hotel in the Clarion area this hotel is quiet and not overrun with loud, inebriated guests and children running amok. My young son always enjoys staying here and it is pet friendly, we have brought our dog. And did I mention the free breakfast? Its not your usual "continental breakfast" with doughnuts and coffee. Bacon, eggs, belgian waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, potatoes and more! read more

We chose this hotel in the thriving town of Clarion only because it was the closest area/hotel available prior to going to Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney. The hotel was outdated. The lobby smelled like smoke, but the front desk staff was pleasant enough and provided us with some helpful tips for Groundhog Day. Our room was fine. Just fine. The sheets felt like heavily bleached razors, but the bottle of wine we engulfed allowed for that to fade into the background. The bathroom of our room featured a jacuzzi tub. And, please don't judge me for this, I HAD to use it. I NEVER use hotel bathtubs for actual baths, but like a jacuzzi?! Anyways, filled that puppy up with hot water and proceeded to turn the jets on to begin relaxation (escape the fact I was dragged to the stupid Groundhog event) and it sounded as though a Jet was taking off. Too loud in my (courteous) opinion for 9:30 PM so there went that idea! read more

The website had these bright beautiful pictures so I booked with confidence while on the road. When we got there it was about 8 p.m. and the room was incredibly hot and stuffy. The hallways smelled musty and a little like old cigarrettes, but the room didn't smell much different. It took hours for the room to cool off after turning on the a.c. to "High Cool". Luckily the price was inexpensive, but I'd rather spend more to stay in a nicer hotel any day. read more

Very impressed. I stay at quality inns at least once a month. This was the first stay in clarion. I was looking for a place halfway between home and work to cut my 9 hour drive in half. This hotel is the best quality inn I've stayed in yet! Huge room with a couch and a whirlpool tub. Check in was quick, they gave me a bag of chips, a granola bar and a water. They even gave me a coupon for 10% off a local restaurant. I got my choice of first or second floor as well. I didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked clean. Hotel was clean and neutral smelling. Water pressure was great! I am writing this before I wake up and get breakfast because I'm just so impressed with this place. Easy on and off 80. I've found my new halfway point. Best part is I used my rewards points and got the room for free this time. read more

We were very pleased with the room. It was clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and the King bed was nice. In the morning we went to the free breakfast not expecting much. It was fabulous! My husband had eggs, sausage, and a waffle. I had coffee, oatmeal, yogurt, and a banana. There was a nice girl restocking everything, so there was plenty of food for all the guests. There's a market right next to the Inn. I'm very impressed with the the Quality Inn. It was much nicer and convenient that our stay in Chicago at a fancy hotel. read more
