Newly opened, clean as a whistle, easy rates, friendly staff and a nice hotel breakfast with a patio. Great choice if you are on US 30.

Looking for a place to stay for the night, this place was 2/3 of the way to our destination. Make…read morethe turn by Bob Evans and then there is a road that leads to the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. There was sufficient outlets to charge devices. Microwave and refrigerator (large one by hotel standards) present. Coffee and tea bar available 24 hours. Good hot breakfast and on this day crispy bacon which was appreciated. Nice touch having sealed cups by the water fountain near the elevator on the first floor. There is a small business center as well as fitness center. Service was friendly.

It's okay but driving there is a little confusing. You have to drive near the Bob Evans and there's…read morean access road near there. Parts of the road have potholes so you have to be cautious. The majority of people here seem to be either workers doing a job in the area or perhaps folks traveling between destinations. Room was clean with a nice sized refrigerator and there is an ice machine nearby. We stayed on the third floor. My dad was in the hospital in Mansfield and I figured Holiday Inn would be nice but I'm not sure if this location meets most Holiday Inn standards. Breakfast options in the morning are good but it seems to go in waves. At times it seemed packed with people and at other times it seemed like there were few people. I think better attention needs to be paid to the breakfast. We got there after one of the waves and the scrambled eggs were few and far between and were cold. Then after most folks left, they put fresh eggs out. That doesn't make much sense. We were there 5 nights (4 mornings) and the people serving breakfast aren't consistent, so the quality and quantity of food available really depends on who is on shift that day. There are a few options including scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, bread and bagels for toasting, cereal, yogurt and milk. However the sausage doesn't seem to good and the options are either sausage or bacon depending on what day you go down. Parking likewise seems iffy. Sometimes it is plentiful and other times it's crowded. I almost feel like there aren't enough places to park. I've seen a variety of people parked their including semi trucks, trucks with trailers etc. vehicles this parking lot isn't designed to accommodate. It doesn't seem safe at times. Additionally, this is the only Holiday Inn I know of that allows dogs. One barked several times during the night keeping folks up. Another night somebody set off the fire alarms and we had to leave our room in the early morning around two or three am. Clients here seem questionable like they'll let anybody stay here. I would not stay here again if I had to do it over. I expect a little more from IHG properties. Pluses: Room was clean and a nice sized refrigerator. Lots of options for breakfast. Negatives: Parking is iffy. Potholes on access road. Breakfast area needs more attention when items run out. No persons to check me out when it was time to go, just a sign that said place keycards here. Hotel seems poorly staffed to maximize profits. It doesn't seem like customers are really screened here. I feel the price we paid was way too much considering the negative factors. Next time I will stay in Ontario, Ohio. There are better options there. This is not like most Holiday Inns. This is a relatively new property in Marion. I think it has only been open 2-3 months. After…read moreturning off the main drag, there is a traffic light that marks the entrance to the parking lot, but it (the traffic light) has not been activated yet. There is not even a large sign that lets the public know that this hotel exists. I am quite impressed with this place. It is a three-story hotel with all the basic amenities of home; hence, the name..."My PlaceHotel". It has an adequate lobby that has sturdy seating (some sofas and low chairs as well as a couple of bistro sets) and a large tv. The check-in area reminded me more of a curved bar than a hotel desk reception area. Next to it is the convenience store/pantry, which offers a nice variety of items, from foods, pharmaceuticals, and even housewares. At check-in, I wondered why this store sold pots, pans and other kitchen items. My room amenities would later answer this question for me. Once we went into the room, we were greeted by a FULL-SIZE refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker, spacious cabinets and a small sink, complete with cloth towels, paper towels and liquid dish soap. All these things were in the kitchen area. WHAT?!?! For hanging clothes storage, there is a nice-sized closet that houses a full-size ironing board, iron, hangers and a large clothes basket. While the bathroom was not overly spacious, it had an adequate size and contained my personal favorite- Neutragena brand toiletries. The size of our room with 2 queen-size beds was a bit more spacious than the typical hotel room. There was actually ample space to walk between the end of the bed and the desk that is against the wall. In terms of space, It really seems like this room is wheelchair accessible even though it is on the 2nd floor. I hope the other rooms in the hotel have similar dimensions and spaciousness. For recreation, there is a covered picnic area with two charcoal grills, a few tables and numerous chairs. Since the hotel is pet-friendly, there are about four stations around the grounds that supply bags for you to clean up after your beloved pet. Let me repeat... I just cannot stress just how impressed I am with this property. It offers just about all the amenities of home including a friendly and helpful staff. I believe we have found the place that we will stay on our repeated trips to Marion.

My caregiver had to rearrange the room so that i could fit my wheelchair next to the bed just so that i could sleep. The room only had 1 bed so my caregiver had to stay on the floor above me so anytime i needed help they had to run down flights of stairs or wait for the very slow elevator. There was a huge bug in the room and when brought up to the front desk they said it's fine they eat the smaller bugs in the room, my question is why is there bugs in my room, big or small? There was a family above my room that had younger kids who screamed and ran around the room until 10 and when i called front desk to ask if they could tell them to be a little more quiet, i was told he'd try and it was over an hour until they finally did be quiet. The breakfast was horrible, the waffles tasted like lucky charms and for the 4 days i was there they closed breakfast early. I stayed for 4 days and never had room service come once, they say they come every 3 days but yet when you get the room they only gave us 2 towels, I ended up having to ask for my own towels Bottom line don't stay here unless you like being ignored and inconvenienced

Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Negative: If you have animal allergies AVOID this place, the smell of dog dander is very overwhelming. Rooms especially the carpet needs completely remodeled, the carpet was musty and felt sticky under shoes with socks it was filthy. One of our queen beds had a used lottery ticket in between the sheets. The shower head is very low, Im 5'4" and it was barely above my head. The bathroom sink was very slow draining . You can hear TV/neighbors conversations in the rooms (kids yelling etc.) Its not the worst place to stay but at 139.00 a night, Ive stayed at much cleaner for far less. Update your property.

I was a little nervous to visit after seeing some of the pictures and reviews- even brought my own…read moresheets and towels- but we had a great time. We were able to pay $35 and check in at 1pm, the room was clean. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature it is a little bit old but everything worked fine and the kids had a blast. The free breakfast was great - warning it was a lot of food with dyes and sugar but I think that's the norm everywhere. They do charge $75 for any late check out - even 15 min which seems absurd considering the room was $67. If you get a room facing the harbor (indoor pool) it is very loud until 10pm if you have young kids with bedtimes I'd request a room that faces the parking lot. The train resturaunt on the top of the hill was very cute and my son Loves trains - closes at 4! The taco restaurant has a good happy hour and strong margarita.
