I booked a room and told them at the time I might stay one night or 2 and they said no problem. I ended up checking out in the morning after the first night and made sure that was ok and they gave me a receipt with the charge for a single night. Later I discovered a charge for the second night on my credit card. I called and they told me I booked for 2 nights and basically "screw you we have your money what you gonna do" (was the jist of the response I got from the sketchy guy that runs the place). So I paid for 2 nights for a room that smelled like rot and mildew, with a cold pool with small rags for towels, sticky floors, maybe the worst hotel breakfast I ever encountered, and horrible rude workers. read more

After driving across the country and after having two horrible experiences with Quality Inns, I do believe there needs to be a name change. I'm thinking "Shithole Inn" is more like it. Horrendous color palate (orange walls?), wrinkled drapes, nasty carpet, moldy shower curtain, no side table on one side of the king sized bed, no plug in on that side of the bed, and I could go on! If it wasn't 21 degrees outside, I'd rather sleep in my car. The first Quality Inn we had reserved in Benson, Az was horrible too. After our stay the owner calls and says he is charging $200 for his air conditioning he says we broke. What a joke it's 20 degrees who uses air conditioning he was just looking to get his subpar hotel fixed up on someone else's dime. Owner is a liar and a cheat. read more

I booked what I thought was a jacuzzi room. All pictures and descriptions showed me that it was. I get to the motel and they tell me it is not, so we called corporate, went through a lot of information back and forth with no results. The motel wanted to blame corporate, corporate said it was the motel's problem. We also found out this happened last week to someone else!! read more

There was no elevator. I could see into other rooms from the hall way it smelled like fish. The policy was refunds under 24 hours would not give us refund the beds had stains so did the curtains also who place reeked of cigarettes. The carpets were stained. There was a patch in the wall behind the toilet so it wasn't painted the Tolstoy paper was half used and had something brown on it. Along with all of this the whole town didn't smell very good. Extremely displeased with our stay. The good first. Front desk lady was nice. Bed was comfortable. That's where it ends. We booked our room specifically with a fridge because of kids and expected to have leftovers since we wouldn't be arriving until around midnight. The BAD: - Our room was missing the tv remote. For whatever reason, the tv was unplugged and there was no remote to be found, so we couldn't use the tv. - The fridge was missing. Even though we booked and paid for a room with a fridge, there was no fridge. - The bathroom door wouldn't shut and stay closed. This was a danger incase our toddler got curious in the middle of the night. - The main door to the room appeared to have been kicked in at one point. The strike plate was completely missing, the lock barely engaged with the hole in the door jamb, the security latch was also missing, and the door frame was so crooked that you could see out and into the room with the door closed. I'd assume this is a MAJOR privacy issue. We rely on the security latch to keep our kids from trying to escape the room but we lost a lot of sleep just trying to make sure they didn't get up in the middle of the night and try to open the door. - While the room was mostly clean, we did get a bonus can of mountain dew in our window-sill. - The next morning, we got to breakfast about 45 minutes before it closed but the hot food was all gone. There was no more hot food being made, so we settled on yogurt and cereal. - Went back for seconds on the yogurt and found that every single yogurt in the cooler was expired by 4 days. Cant' really prove if this expired yogurt was the cause of my son's upset stomach for the 5.5 hour drive home or not, but if a business is going to offer up complimentary food, it should not be expired just for public health reasons. My list of bad was more than I cared to deal with at midnight on a Saturday. I had 2 cranky kids with me that just were ready for bed and I didn't want to mess around with playing music hotel rooms. I sucked it up, slept light, and will never stay here again. The lady at the front counter was very nice, and she likely may have helped with all our issues, but it was just too much and almost to the point where we would have gone next door to the other hotel in the area. The 3 main reasons I won't stay here again though are the following: - Security issues: The door likely could have easily been opened up with a credit card the way the door was. - Privacy Issues: The door being cracked open, we actually went into the room and moved a footstool in front of the door. We also hung towels up so you couldn't peer in through the crack. - Food safety: Expired yogurt only scratches the surface to what else could be expired in the food area. Milk, OJ, Juice, any cooking products in the hot portions that I never got, etc. The slogan right inside my key packet says "Get your Moneys Worth". If that's true, then this room should have been 10 bucks, not 100. read more

This place was a joke!! They charged us extra to just check in. We used a 3rd party to book and was not told that there would be an extra $100 charge to just get in the door from either the 3rd party or the motel. The front clerk was extremely rude. When we got in the room the bathroom light didn't work, plus the toilet over flowed after only using once. The wall behind the bed was broke and the room was not cleaned there was finger prints everywhere. After we checked out and was on our way home we realized we forgot something. After contacting them, they wrapped what we left in the bag left in the ro that they brought us tje plunger in that we had to use ourselves to unclog the toilet. Conveniently located near lots of food choices. You won't find a better breakfast than Bob Evans 1-mile down the road and be sure to stop by Grandpa's Cheese Barn right by the highway!! Breakfast was really no better or worse than anywhere else although there was a lack of coffee creamers, they only had half-and-half and milk. Seemed to have a few less Danish choices than other places as well and I didn't take notice of any meats, but remember, Bob Evans :) On The plus side one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed! Very comfortable beds sheets, pillows and clean bathroom! And this might seem like a small thing but the TV remote was the nicest I've ever seen. Easy to operate, you didn't have to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out the TV or the remote and the most channel choices I've ever seen in any motel as well! Not bad. Worth a stop & reviews are far better than the cheaper motels... Motel 6 & Super 8, which are always hit or miss... they're either great or deplorable... little in the middle, in my experience. Pros: * Front desk staff. The woman who checked me in at 3-4pm on 10-2-19 was very professional & accommodating. I showed her a $90 rate on Hotels .com & she said she could get me a better rate & would even take my AAA discount. It was about $20 less... awesome. She also investigated into my 2-mo old Choice Hotel membership, which isn't working when I try to make reservations (it tells me it doesn't exist) & found out I have 3 accounts... so she gave me the 800# to have them consolidate the accounts... she couldn't do it from her end & was trying to ensure that I get all my rewards. Very nice to have gone above & beyond... I've been at 10 Choice Hotels over the past 2-mos & no one offered the same (they'd shrug when I told them I had an account & couldn't access it)... she even gave me a temporary membership card, which no one else had done. She left a very good impression. Since she also noticed that I had a headache, she said they were painting in the bldg & if it bothered me, I could change my room. Excellent customer service. * Very comfy mattress, sunny spacious room, brand new fridge & m/w (Rm #117), coffee pot, 2 full length mirrors, plenty of bright lights & outlets, alarm clock, tons of towels, tissues & some toiletries. * Hot breakfast 6-9am. Lobby coffee/tea 24/7. * Very quiet... the walls must be made of solid steel. My room was right in front of the side entrance & I didn't hear anyone coming or going. This is just 1 of the reasons it's sometimes far better to pay an extra $10-20 for a bump up in hotel quality. * Nice pool/hottub in the lobby that no one uses... it's almost long enough to do laps & a fitness center on the 2nd floor... both open 10am-10pm. There's also a 24/7 guest laundry, although I didn't use it. * Tons of cable stations, including all HBO. Huge flatscreen TV. * Wendy's next door... it is walkable, but they open late... 10am-midnight. A 24/7 McD's is on the same road. 24/7 WalMart across the street. You could also walk, but the store is about 1/2-mi from the entrance, so if carrying heavy items, I'd drive. Cons: * Nothing really. Hotel's a little outdated, but nothing egregious. * On the side of the bldg, a handful of parking spaces back out into each other, should a longer truck/car be parked perpendicular to yours & spaces aren't very wide... something to look out for if leaving very early am... you may want to park a bit further away to ensure you're not trapped... although the front desk does take car info so could call a guest should you be leaving early am hours & be blocked in. The back of the bldg has plenty of room & that's where the longer vehicles & trucks park. * They are painting some of the rooms (which is good, I'm all for updates) & although that horrid smell is noticeable in the hallway, it isn't in the room. I was charged three multiple times I booked my room through Priceline I went and spoke to the manager of the hotel he told me that they were pending charges I would need to wait a few days and see if it was credited back to my account I came back to my room I called Priceline to be proactive about the situation and make sure that these charges were not going to be posted to my account the next morning when I went to get my Continental free breakfast the manager told me basically that I should not have called Priceline because he already told me that I needed to wait a few days like I said I was trying to be proactive about the situation and make sure that I wasn't going to be charged so I called the company that I booked the room through he proceeds to tell me that I made a mess in the dining room and he was going to charge me for that mess then he proceeds to tell me that I better hope my room's not dirty because I'm going to be charged for it he proceeds to tell me not to come back to his hotel all because I was trying to be proactive and I called Priceline well it is now my understanding that if you call Priceline they charge the hotel that's what he's upset about is that he's being charged because I called Priceline because all I was trying to do was be ahead of the game and make sure that I wasn't charged three multiple times for my room because it's my money and I want to make sure I'm not being charged over for somewhere I only stayed one night at. I do not recommend this hotel at all I asked him if he had a customer service line he told me he was the customer service he owned the hotel. He was extremely rude to me I made the waffles wrong from the free continental breakfast and he said what is this man you made a mess you didn't use the waffle maker right I said I'm sorry I've never used one of those I didn't know how to use it I didn't know that the cup that was sitting there wasn't to fill with the pancake mix it was actually a spatula holder there is no sign that says that he proceeds to berate me the entire time I'm sitting there eating by breakfast while he's walking around cleaning the dining room and he's berating me the entire time telling me I shouldn't have called Priceline now he has to pay if he has to pay I have to pay. I certainly would recommend a one-star hotel before I recommended this hotel. read more

This was quite an interesting experience. When we first got there to check in there was a little hiccup in the computer system which the young lady at the front desk was friendly about but the manager in the office was not so cordial. She had some rather harsh words for my wife over a situation that was really a computer error (we booked it through hotels.com which dod not agree with their computer system.) So after we got that ironed out we got our key, toted my heavy luggage up to my room, opened the door and there's someone in there. They gave us the key to an occupied room. That's a pretty brutal blunder for a hotel to make. So I toted my heavy luggage back down to the front desk and the now embarrassed manager sheepishly gives me another key card and a half hearted apology and we finally get to our proper room. On the positive the room was spotless and had all of the amenities that a hotel room should have in this day and age. The morning breakfast was a very good spread and the lady that set it all up was very visible and clearly took a lot of pride in her work. The pool area was ok but there was some mold in the hot tub as well as some very visible towels and cups on the floor in there. There is a workout room on the second floor that looked like it had very recently set up and was kind of a work in progress. There were some good things about this place but there were some pretty terrible mistakes made and for that I cannot recommend this hotel. read more

Booked online, checked in paid and got my room keys. Went upstairs to bring in luggage and was immediately threatened because my mother and sister were helping my fiance and I carry in our luggage and our kids. We stayed in the king suite. There were greasy fingerprints all over the headboard and sliding glass door. Water damage on the ceiling. It's completely outdated and stains in all of the bed sheets and blankets and pillow cases. They then told me they charged my card again another 250 dollars and it didn't go through so if I don't pay it they were going to kick us out. I paid it in cash and was told I would receive it in the morning. I explained that we have four kids with us and that the older two were staying with my mother overnight and it was just going to be me and my fiance and our 3 month old baby and 2 year old in the room. We were only there to sleep as we were out of the room most of the time. Jay the supposed general manager accused me of having the kids in the hot tub in the room which we didn't and they gave us a huge attitude from the moment we arrived with our children. Keep in mind Noone was loud and nothing was damaged from us or our children as we only slept there and woke up to checkout the next morning. The next morning we go to checkout and I'm immediately met with hostility and with Jay saying I lied to him about the amount of ppl who were staying in the room I paid for like we were having some sort of raging party. Please note my next to youngest got sick at grandma's and I had to go get him so he ended up staying in the room that night as well. Shouldn't be a huge deal for normal rational grown adults. After Jay saying I lied to him he asked his wife to check the room before I got my deposit back and she refused and said we are not getting our deposit back and that we violated the hotel policy which is just her made up excuse to steal our deposit. They then proceeded to threaten to call the police on me bc I didn't agree. I went outside to call choice hotels who refused to help bc they are just affiliated and won't and can't do anything to help the situation my fiance went back in and heard Jay on the phone with what is presumed to be choice hotels saying that I should be removed as a member and that I threatened to call the police on them and he shouldn't have to deal with situations like that. They didn't know she was my fiance and I don't know how bc they were stalking us on camera and going into our room unannounced. This place is a joke and very very very very shady DO NOT STAY HERE spend more money and enjoy your stay elsewhere. It's just not worth it. When I talked to choice hotels again his wife said she was the hotel owner and I'm not exactly sure she is so things are super sketchy there. Trust me and go elsewhere my family and I did nothing to deserve the way we were treated we probably left the room cleaner then it was when we got there. They are criminals and should be investigated immediately! read more

Generally when I'm booking a room at a Quality Inn, I know not to set unrealistic expectations. They don't call it the "high-quality inn" or the "low-quality inn", just "Quality Inn." Their tagline could very well be "we exist." So imagine my surprise when, weary and exhausted and trying to get out of the snow pummeling the interstate, we rolled the dice and decided to get a night of some quality sleep, and it was awesome. Now keep in mind, at $75 a night for a room, you're not going to get a personal manservant to haul all your luggage to your room or have a fully stocked mini bar or a Jacuzzi with seven different types of moisturizing bubble bath options, but for all the basic amenities you need for a night in a hotel, they definitely went above and beyond. Every one of the staff were cordial and helpful, the breakfast spread was phenomenal with something for just about everybody, the room was spacious, the bed was soooooo comfy, and everything inside and outside was meticulously clean.
