DO NOT STAY HERE! Do yourself a favor and choose literally any other hotel in the area. My sister and I stayed here for two nights. We found BLOOD on the sheet, went to the front desk very calm even though I was disgusted inside. I asked for the sheets to be changed and was told there was no one available to change them and we could either change the sheets ourselves or be downgraded to a room with one bed and a pull out couch, which was not an option for us. So we changed the sheets ourselves. The outlets by the bed were not in working order, the shower head wasn't even attached properly and made a horrible screeching sound that instantly gave me a migraine. So for the two nights we stayed I couldn't even shower. The TV remote wasn't working so I took the back off to check the batteries and there was something sticky and gross all over them (not acid). I had to go down to the front desk to get another remote. There were ants crawling all over the coffee station, the biscuits were so hard we could barely pull them apart with our hands. The manager was EXTREMELY rude and not helpful. She initially told us if we requested a refund through the 3rd party we booked with that she would approve it. We were sent around in circles between the 3rd party, the hotel manager, and corporate Choice Hotels. In the end, our refund for one night (not both nights) was denied and in turn we were offered 12,000 points which is equal to one nights stay. As if we will ever choose to stay in a horrible hotel such as this again. What a joke. read more

We stayed in room 1311. The room was completely remodeled. Huge TV. All the amenities. King bed with a sofa bed. Very spacious. This hotel has a large indoor swimming pool. Weight room. Large lobby. I had the worse service ever was treated horrible, The manager on shift name Heather was very nasty and rude to me and my children. Just after 2hrs of checking in me and my children was kicked out for no reason at all I believe she was racist how she acted. I reserved a apartment suite for my daughter's 11th birthday I told them when I reserved it would be me and six kids that is what they requested I get so we could do her birthday there so I check in get room all set up food put away and head down to pool with my six children and one other adult to help with the children nobody under the age of 9 mind u no one was being loud or nothing next thing I know we was asked cer rudely who had a room I give all my information and she said nope too many people u need to leave so I'm confused tell her I spoke to them when making reservations and this is why they suggested a apartment suite she nope leave so I told her she was a bitch for acting like she was and she said I'm putting do not rent to u nomore and u got 10min to leave or I'm keeping your money so then we had some words and she gave me my money but they turned around and kept my deposit. No one will help Everytime u call to get corporate number they hang up on you, so hopefully someone does something about them through this. Worst hotel experience I've had. Let me first say the staff was very nice. I think they did great and probably need more support from owners/corporate. The hotel itself is disgusting. Sorry but there's no nice way to put it. For $90 a night, per person, my coworker and I each got a king size room with a jetted tub. My room had no number on the door- A lot of doors were missing some or all numbers. On entering my room, the light switch didn't work. It didn't control a light- there was no light around. My coworkers room had a light in the entryway so my room's light must have been overlooked? The bathroom is small and outdated, but served it purpose- shower (I wouldn't dare use it as a tub- it's small and the floor had those dirty-looking no slip strips), sink, toilet. There were fresh towels. They don't replace or launder them until the 3rd day so I used the same towels my entire stay (3 days). Fine by me. My bathroom had no fan; my coworker's did. The jetted tub in the bedroom is weird and looks out of place. Just kind of randomly next to the bed. Whatever. The light above it did not work. The jets did not work. So it's really just a big, deep bathtub next to the bed. Based on the smell of the room, I had no desire to even try it out. The room itself smelled like it used to be a smoking room and they never replaced the carpet or paint when it changed to non smoking. It got very humid in there, even with the air running. The air did come out nice and cold, though. It also helped drown out the noise in the hallway. There were a couple rooms around me that had people living in them. I know this because they would be in the hallway making noise at all hours. The second night of my stay they woke me up at 5:30 with all of their noise- arguing or laughing, I was too exhausted to tell. I was able to fall back asleep after they quieted down, but not before finding a bug in the bed as well as a short, curly hair. (Yep, that kind). The third and final night of my stay, the local residents of the surrounding rooms were leaning against my door and chatting at 11 pm, during which I learned a lot about their life stories. One of them had gotten rear ended, another was impressed with the hotel and how quiet it was (the irony, right?), and the two younger girls (a teen and preteen) were just happy to be awake so late and laughing and looking at pictures on one of the women's phones. I ended up calling the front desk and told them to come ask them to be quiet. We found a sketchy storage room inside the back entrance, people piled used towels and garbage bags full of trash outside their rooms in the hallway, a door that said it was to always remained shut and locked was propped open for the first day or two of the stay so smokers could get in and out easily. My coworkers room key didn't work the first morning. She got a new one from the front desk only to discover the entire key reader was dead. A nice maintenance gentleman replaced the batteries and commented on how often he had to change them. On the third night my room key didn't work and I had to go back down to get a new one. We didn't use the pool. The hot tub was roped off with caution tape. The vending machines were mostly out of stock, and they have a claw machine by the pool that was broken. Breakfast is free but you're only allowed one breakfast, so don't think you're getting an all you can eat type setup. The food is not good and if you didn't get everything you wanted on your first order, you're out of luck. read more

So I booked a conference room for a surprise party for my wife. I also booked 2 rooms. Upon seeing the guest list grow, we asked if the room could hold more people, we had told them 80. I was told it could go up to 200, so I asked to set up for 120, they said no problem. On the day of the party, while close friends and family are setting up the conference room, I checked in with my wife in the car. I asked about everything and was informed that there was a $300 upcharge for adding seating in the existing room. They changed the price on the day of the event, after we had begun setting everything up. I was furious, but was over a barrel. We also paid for a sound system that didn't work (an extra $50). Needless to say, I'll never go there again and will tell anyone else, there are better places just down the road. read more

My husband works in the nuclear industry and we travel all over the country and stay in hotels for months. We chose the Quality Inn because they are pet friendly, safe, clean and has free breakfast. Monroe's Quality Inn has the nicest staff we have ever met. They are friendly and care about their guests. The hotel provides dinner on Tuesday night. Homemade and delicious! Maintenance James Kevin is quick to respond to any issues that may occur. Cookies are served at 1130ish, which is about the time I get up. Fresh cookies and coffee to start my day is awesome. To be honest, I kinda dread going home and having to cook and clean. We have been here for 5 months. If we are ever back in Monroe, we will stay here. read more

Not impressed this visit. The employees, however, are courteous and helpful. The bed was quite comfortable. Our room smelled funky, sort of 'chemically.' Putting the fan on helped in the bedroom but not the bathroom. And the vanity light over the sink didn't work. The breakfast was good and the coffee tasty. I liked the night light in the bathroom. Run down! Desk receptionist always has an attitude. Have stayed here 3 or 4 times now. Our last visit they decided to charge my card for the room and 200.00? So I call today and they state I smoked in the room? Seriously, I don't smoke cigarettes. They have picnic tables in the back everybody was smoking weed at!!! This is a hustle for them! I recently hosted a meeting here in the conference area. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Meeting space was well-appointed with projector, screen, wireless microphone and podium. Located close to the lobby making it easy to direct guests. Alyson was an absolute gem! She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a positive one. I especially liked the snack basket, which allowed our guests to select their own snack to go with the provided boxed lunch. The only complaint I have was the main men's restroom was being renovated, so guests had to enter the pool area. Again, not a huge complaint as I understand they are working on updating the hotel. The only reason a place like this gets a 5* is because the only other hotels they compete with are the likes of "Knights Inn" Place is a dump, staff is rude and location is horrible. Had a decent stay at Quality Inn, the things I would complain about are minimal but worth noting. The front desk ladies were all very courteous and helpful, I really couldn't say enough good things about everyone who we encountered during our stay. During my routine bedbug check I found a butted out cigarette behind the headboard (of all places). They really should clean behind these things because it was extremely dusty, aside from the cig butt; no telling how long that thing was back there. Other than that, it was bedbug free and the mattress and sheets were clean and spotless. There were some short circuits in some of the wall lamps, as some of them would flicker occasionally. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, and we found that the toilet could've been cleaned a bit better; but not anything to freak out over. There are some disgusting stains on the elevator ceiling that is a bit of an eyesore, I'm tall and typically look up to make sure I'm going to clear the way (out of habit) so I can't help but notice these types of things. Upon the day of checkout we could smell marijuana very strongly throughout the 4th floor where we stayed, and it made its way to our room as well. I notified the front desk and they seemed very diligent to find who it was, and were treating the situation no different than someone smoking a cigarette which I found to be fair. Neither are pleasant smells in the confines of a hotel floor. We were disappointed to see that the hot tub was down, though it did appear that a new one may be installed very soon. There was a crew of workers who were working in some of the first floor suites also. We heard no noises and it was as if they weren't even there. The elevator did go down and out of service during our checkout day, but traversing the stairs was no big deal...the hotel staff was courteous and posted a notice to anyone needing help with their luggage, that help would be available. Luckily we didn't need any help. They had the elevator back up and running in a few hours time. Breakfast was good, the ladies who prepared it and greeted us were very nice and helpful...the staff is a big plus to this hotel and I would definitely stay again, I recommend anyone to stay if you're going for affordable and quiet. We came in just to lay our heads from a long day of travel. I been to this hotel many times with no problems.. Until now. This housekeeper her name is Lisa .. She was completely rude to me and my kids . my girls are 14 and 15 and I went out the glass door to the pool and she made my girls get out of the pool . nevermind I'm looking right at them.. And then she started complaining that my kids had no shoes on we are 4 rooms from the pool .. This lady is very angry... Picking on us since we woke up... We are not hurting anyone. Hotel was beautiful, looked like a very nice clean place to stay, until we went to bed an was getting bitten by something, I litterly had welts from something bitting me, then my grandkids were getting bitten and itching, low and behold we discovered a bug on my grandson and killed it to our suprise it was very bloody and we looked it up and it was a bed bug. We packed up and left around 11:30 pm contacted front desk and was told manager kim would contact us next day. Well 3 days later I contacted them again for an examination and definantly a refund, the manager tries telling me she had no note regarding the situation and basically thought it was something funny, I would definitely not recommend this hotel, it's definitely a health concern and I have also contacted the health department. This place has a sign out front saying they won some hotel of the year award which I don't buy. The place isn't that clean I found some hair in our fridge, the rooms services book had profanity written in it, and the doors in the back of the hotel don't lock. I would recommend driving right but Monroe Michigan. Oh ya and the wifi is awful. read more

Husband and I stayed here last minute choice due to coming into Michigan for Fathers Day Race and we were coming from Erie Pa trying to get closest and most affordable to the NASCAR racetrack as possible. We had reservations elsewhere and decided to see if this place had anything else more affordable to offer last minute. Hotel manager was there at front desk and welcomed us and made us feel wanted from the start! Only little issue came about which wasn't even more then a inconvenience was that our jacuzzi tub drained into the downstairs neighbors wall which made us and neighbor had to switch rooms out at 12:30am. My husband was more irritated then me cause I used tub and by the time we moved to our new room he was ready for bed and never used the tub! All in all this is a very nice hotel to stay in when coming through Monroe MI and if ever passing through would definitely pick here again! read more

I have been coming here for years. It's a great hotel and staff. As our children have cats, we had Christmas with kids and grandchildren in the hotel lounge. We had Christmas tree, fire, and wonderful decorations. Additionally, our teenage grandchildren developed a pool tournament. We brought food into the lounge and spent all day eating and playing games. It was great Christmas. read more

For a hotel chain with lower rates this is an absolute gem. Admitted I am staying in the suite side (which is still very affordable with my long term rate). Every morning there is an excellent full breakfast bar, with the most friendly staff which givee it a welcoming environment. There is also a customer appreciation dinner each Tuesday night which isn't spectacular but fills you up good (the mac and cheese is excellent though). I've been here for a month now and have over a month to go and I'm very happy with everyone from the desk to the breakfast and drink bar. They could use a couple more washers and dryers and replace the ones they have with newer ones. The pool is nice and the jacuzzi is nice and hot when it's working. The gym is small and sort of impersonal because it's right by the bar and lounge with large windows so people can watch you work out but it has what I need to get a good workout. If I come back to the area I will certainly stay here again. read more
