Bed Bug infestation. Really nasty.
Lionel T.

Booked a room for one night while on a week long motorcycle trip discovered a bed bug. (I admit that I saw the killer, nothing more) A picture of the bug corpse can be found the photo gallery. We immediately asked for a refund, and left. Finding another motel, at night, on unfamiliar roads, with a storm coming in. Is really stressful and was totally unnecessary. Choice Hotels, clean them up or shut them down.

Our room on the last day
Dang L.

Looking at all the other reviews in the last year (6 in total) I cannot see ANY of the problems that was described! They obviously got their act together!! In my opinion, Quality Inn is an above average motel establishment for the vacationing family on a budget (we found a deal online for less than $100 per night) and we've been vacationing for the last 7 years. The room that we got was comfortable and well air-conditioned for the hot summer. The door was conveniently faced outside, right next to where we parked our mini-van, a BIG plus for a family of 4 on a crabbing/fishing vacation. The deal maker was that they accept pets, since our dog is getting up there in age we don't like to leave him at home and finding a place that accepts pets was a must and a hassle to be sure. The staff was always friendly, the complementary breakfast was always fresh, hot and delicious(my sons especially liked the homemade waffles that they themselves can cook!) And to top it all off, the TV cable had MASN and MASN2 for the National and Orioles fanatics like myself!! All in all, our stay was a very pleasant and comfortable experience at the Quality Inn in Exmore!!

Mirror message

Reviews of this place are pretty on point. Staff was super friendly at check in and helped us get a last minute room. Checked into room 216 and always check the sheets and pillow cases. Stains everywhere. To the point that we had to request 4 new pillows. They brought up 4 "new" stained pillow cases. At that point we knew we weren't going to get any better than what we had and slept in my clothes. Woke up the next morning and sat down to drop a deuce and was welcomed with a wonderful message written in sharpie under the mirror. F you too quality inn.

Good afternoon, I just want others to know this is not what…read morethey advertised. It started within 20 minutes after check-in. I get it, you get what you pay for. But at $170 a night i assumed that it was a decent place to sleep and get back on the road. I had to change my room twice. The first time was due to the room smelling of mildew and the sheets where wet. The staff brought a dehumidifier down and asked if we could let it run for one hour and see if that helps. Remember the sheets where wet also. Finally the staff offers to move us. We got a room on the first floor due to having back issues. They no longer had rooms on the first floor So now I had to repack and carry my luggage to the second floor. Yes, carry my luggage they had no elevator. Room two. We carry the luggage up two flights of stairs with no help or offer from the staff. I took out what we needed and went to get something to eat. After dinner we returned to the hotel, Quality Inn. Try to use the key card and that did not work and it was not abled to be fixed. You guessed it had to repack and move to another room without even the staff offering to help. You would think that they would try to make it right but they did not even offer. So that's my experience staying at the Quality Inn in Exmore, VA. My first and last time

We were welcomed the moment we arrived, and that didn't change the whole time we were there. Our thanks to them for all the advice and help making our vacation a relaxing one. The room was, in short, gorgeous and spotless. No loaner beds for kids, but we just brought an inflatable one that was promptly ignored by our little one who preferred to join us in the comfy, king-sized bed. Can't say I blame her. The room had a full kitchen stocked with plates, pans, glasses, large mini-fridge, etc. We could see parked trains from the window, which made our daughter happy. the bathroom is big and also gorgeous (though as a practical matter a couple more hooks to hang up wet stuff would have been helpful). The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast of cereal, yogurt, and coffee, which was perfect for us. The bright breakfast area turns into a gathering space for the rest of the day, with games and a big section of wall set up for dry erase markers. If you want to go to the beach, they have beach chairs and towels you can borrow and outdoor showers if you want to avoid bringing sand into your room when you get back from the beach. If it's pouring rain, they have umbrellas you can borrow. (Did I mention the staff is awesome?) The beach is walking distance from the hotel, and we went there often. Lots of sand. Lots of beach, and plenty of room to set up and chill. The water is warm and shallow enough for a good distance out that it works well for kids. In town there's not a huge number of restaurants, so that kitchen came in handy. There is pretty a good ice cream shop though, and they do a baby cone for little ones. There's also a playground and park within walking distance of the hotel if you need a break from sandcastles and seashells. I'll also say that as a multiracial family we fit in around just fine. The 4th celebration was fun, with music, food, a fishing competition for kids, and fireworks. A crowd of people, but not overwhelming at all. Even though it was late enough we watched the fireworks from our hotel room (kind of awkward, but it worked), it was a lot of fun. So, both the town and hotel are recommended for a visit. Good times.

There was nothing left except yogurt that was just sitting out in a bowl. I made the front desk aware and the man that had been standing there went to let the staff know. No response. No replenishing. No communication. If you are going to charge over $300 a night, care about your customers. Having stayed at boutique hotels here and in the UK, the skimpy breakfast option provided was disappointing.....well, it was nonexistent. Cereal and fruit were empty. I don't expect a European spread, but a simple continental breakfast was, in fact, part of the reservation. We finally just left. Post-survey, nobody followed up. Customer service was so terrible (other than the people working the front desk). The front desk team was helpful and professional. So, clean room and front desk team was great, comfort and customer service were nonexistent. Not a good experience AT ALL.

I feel so strongly about sharing my recommendation to stay here that this is my first-ever (and possibly only) Yelp review. The rooms, property, restaurant quality food, and service were impeccable. Sherry, Ridge, and Sara are so kind and will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay, even communicating months in advance to see if we had any requests. The unlimited ice cream and snack bars, speakeasy and all-seasons room were our favorite amenities, but the list is plentiful. Our room had a private patio with firepit, heated bathroom floors, a soaking tub, and so much more. It was beyond clean and comfortable! The icing on the cake: they are pet-friendly, and even provided organic dog treats to our corgi. We came in March for my birthday (they gave me flowers, a note, and a gift) and are already planning a trip back in the summer to utilize the heated pool, kayaks, bikes, and other outdoor activities. A must-see for a relaxing getaway or event, just a short drive to the charming town of Mathews. Thank you to our hosts for a fantastic weekend!

Had a great pizza truck which was awesome to bring pizza back to the room especially since the Italian restaurant shut down during COVID.
