I have stayed there before and no complaints! Well this time it was diffrent they actually gave me the same room i had a few years earlier and went to the bathroom and there was urine in the toilet bowl. Got ready for bed and the light bulb on the lamp next to the bed. Also hold on to your wallet they charged me $75.00 for my service dog for the night the last time i was there they did Not. At check out i believe it to be the Manager sated arguing with me saying there was no way there would be urine in the toilet and as i was walking out i stated that i wasn't going to argue ver the urine or anything else, $121.00 plus tax for me and then the $75.00 for the dog. POSITIVES: The staff was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Check in went well. The room was clean. Fridge and microwave were clean. Bed was comfortable--on the firm side. Air conditioning was EXCELLENT-cold! Noise level was at a minimum in hall. Although they allow pets, our room did NOT have any odor other than the clean smell. The entire hotel is smoke free as well. We had to have maintenance come in. He was there in less than 10 min of calling front desk, worked efficiently and was gone in 15 minutes of correcting the problem. Pool seemed clean, towels available and they kept a record of PH levels. I liked the shampoo and conditioner -- Zero. Friday the breakfast ~8ish was very good and plentiful, as was coffee. A few flies. Trash could have been emptied more often. Tables clean. CONS: Towels were lacking (2 hand towels, 1 washcloth, 3 body towels and one looked like it had been used), when we entered our room, toilet seat was up and no toilet paper on the roll. It made me wonder if the room was used prior to our entrance. The bathtub did not drain, however see positives. Ironing board cover needed replacement - stains, etc. Pillows were lumpy, but plentiful-4, but I was fine. Hallways were HOT--no air, with fans at both ends on hall, but it didn't help much. This was the standard on levels 2, 3 & 4. Received a call on phone, went to pick it up and the handset was not plugged in. Saturday morning I went to get new towels from cart and there were none. Front desk didn't have any and other floors didn't either. Got clean towels around 12:30. Housekeeping remembered I asked and she brought them. Saturday breakfast at 7 am. NO COFFEE, waited 20 minutes for replenishment; no fruit, orange juice was watered down. Trash cans needed immediate attention. Not enough trashcans. I noticed there was different staff from weekdays and weekends for the breakfasts. Later in day noticed the tables needed to be cleaned off. RECOMMENDATION: If you want clean towels daily on a multiple night stay, let the front desk know you want housekeeping service daily. read more

Check the closet for a super sweet cotton waffle weave blanket! We stayed overnight here on a Saturday as we traveled through the area. The front desk personnel were very pleasant. We had booked an accessible room which will explain the larger bathroom in my photos. The Hampton breakfast was great, I counted three employees making sure everything was kept stocked and full for the guests. The staff is friendly. There is a pool, but I didn't use. There are two sets of washers and dryers. It costs $2 to wash and $2 to dry. It takes 30 minutes to wash and an hour to dry. You can buy laundry detergent and dryer sheets for $1each. The building is having minor updates being done. Our shower head leaked and needs to be fixed which I will tell them. The bed was too firm but we got 4 pillows to help make it more comfortable. read more

We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. There were a lot of tasty restaurants nearby that cater to hotel guests, so if you are tired, they'll deliver some good eats. My tiny dogs particularly enjoyed their stay and one liked the room so much she didn't want to get back in the car! Everyone was so friendly and spoiled my doggies! Our first room showed little human hairs all throughout the bed linens that were supposedly sanitized. It was incredibly gross especially during this pandemic. We were ready to go to a different hotel if the second room wasn't any better. Fortunately for both them and us it was slightly better, but the image of the hairs was so horrible. I have used this property several times, both for overnight stays and for using the meeting-room facilities. The rooms have been clean and well-equipped, and I have never experienced an issue with lack of cleanliness or equipment failures. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, which is nice when you're grumpy about paying a tourist-season price for a room. I attached a picture of a small but useful feature in the room - a cushioned bench at the foot of the bed. This is convenient in so many ways. Overall, the experience here has been a good one. 10/25/17 - This place only gets worse. I want to leave but I'm afraid the owner needs the money more than I do. Room looks more worn and dirtier. Carpets and furniture are disgusting. I put towels on the chairs to sit down and work. Not sure how I will sleep tonight. I'm a loyal HHonors member but I will stay at Hilton next trip. Hard to believe Hilton let's a franchisee degrade their brand like this. Disappointing for a Hampton Inn. Waited for 15 minutes for the front desk person to come out from the back. There were two people in front of me waiting as well. The room I had was dirty. Dirty to the point that I was very skeptical sleeping in the bed. The towels appeared to be clean and I laid them over the heavily stained desk chair to sit and answer a few emails. Never a good thing when you can't wait to get out of the room you paid $125 for. I said hello twice to the front desk person in the morning to get her to acknowledge me. I just left after that. Ok so this Hampton Has everything that you would expect but it's definitely needing an update on decor. We stayed over one night on our way to Chincotegue's Hampton inn and you wouldn't think these two properties were even in the same chain. Our room definitely needed updated carpet and tile. Several of the tiles moved when you walked on them. I did appreciate having a small sink traveling with a baby but I didn't feel comfortable letting her walk around. The breakfast buffet was up to par and they had the grab bags for morning travelers which I always appreciate. I think I heard they were under new management so I'm hopeful they will be doing a room renovation soon! read more

We stayed one night, 11/18/22. Front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful. Room was 411. Bathrooms had not been properly cleaned. Lots of hair in the tub, toothpaste and lots of crud in the sink, on faucets and mirror. Tissue in wastebasket. It actually made me wonder if we had been given clean towels and sheets. We asked if there was a housekeeper on duty - there wasn't. We were offered another room but I figured if they were all "cleaned" by the same person, they'd likely all be in the same condition, so not worth packing up all our stuff and moving. The good news - there's a Food Lion across the street where you can buy spray bleach for $6. Hilton owes us $6 and a comped room. A clean one please. read more

I stayed for 5 days in their 2 Queen Bed Suite. The room was incredibly comfortable. We slept very well all 5 nights. The pool was warm and relaxing. The breakfast is incredibly varied. I booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay at the Hampton Inn Suites Exmore -Eastern Shore in Virginia. One room with Expedia and one room with booking.com We arrived at the hotel at 11 pm on a rainy night. When we got into our rooms we saw bed bugs on the mattress and we even caught one in a cup. There was also a leak in the ceiling and water came into the room. We immediately checked out of both rooms and checked out of the hotel, we were promised that we would get our money back and they apologized. We went to sleep at 2 am in a different hotel. 2-3 days later we got our money back from Expedia. I called booking.com 5 times and every time I got the same story that the hotel didn't authorize them to give me my money back, it's been 7 weeks and I still don't have my money. Today I was promised that they will refund my money, let's see. read more

This is a typical newer Hampton which is great because the entire Hampton chain has come along way over the last ten years compared to what it used to be in the '90s. The good stuff: * Free parking * All staff we encountered were great * The room was very clean * Free Wi-Fi. * Everything in the room worked perfectly * Typical solid-decent Hampton breakfast with lots of seating * The outdoor pool looked nice although it was closed due to T-Storms in the area * The appropriate bedding for the sofa bed was actually in the closet * Great location with a Subway, the Exmore Diner and a Food Lion all close by The nitpicking: If I have to nitpick (and I do because it's how I roll) it's quasi confusing to get into the parking lot coming in on 13 South because you can't turn into the parking lot directly from 13. Instead you need to go past the hotel, turn left onto Cathey Avenue, turn left again onto 1042, turn left again down an unlit access road that the hotel shares with a bank to finally turn right into the hotel's lot. Also, don't bother looking for a sign along 13 as it's tiny, not close to 13 and currently it has shrubs/weeds almost completely covering it. I suppose if traffic allows or if you're feeling it you could make a U-Turn on 13 to come back North again as that would make it a lot easier but the desk clerk who checked us in said that she's seen the local 5-0 ticket that maneuver several times so caveat emptor on that one. Poor signage aside, this Hampton outpost is solid in every way and will definitely be where I start my lodging search if we're ever in the area again. read more

This hotel is in a boring city and reminds me of Lumberton, NC. The room was decent for a 2 star hotel but it needs a little more cleaning with the upholstery. Even though I had clean sheets, I was greeted by a moth and a spider on the bed. Ugh! I did love the room size. It was great for myself, my boyfriend and our baby. Breakfast was decent but they are slow to replace food. The second day I didn't get to eat it and went right next door to Hardees. The biggest disappointment was the pool was closed due to unsafe levels. I really wanted to take my 4month old in the water since it was so hot on the 4th of July. Our stay was enhanced by the charming, efficient and friendly staff in particular Deanna Evans and Shannon DeCarlo. They were both lovely people always ready and willing to help. This made the reception at the hotel a real pleasure. Our in / out times coincided with Deanna's presence mostly and she was always so helpful and kind. The Hotel room was very good in particular the beds - comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were more than adequate but I did miss fried eggs and LIGHTLY fried bacon (I am English after all). My brother and I stayed here on a Tuesday night in March 2019. We liked it. The breakfast room was large, airy, spacious, and the breakfast food offerings were very good and certainly above-average for free hotel breakfasts. Our room was spacious, too, but it did not have a refrigerator or microwave. Bathroom was very good, except there was a cigarette burn mark on the toilet seat, and I was surprised that the toilet seat had not been replaced (easy fix). Lobby is attractive. Pool is outdoors so it was not operating in March. The hotel is adjacent to a Hardees fast-food restaurant, a gas station, and across the street there is a shopping center. There aren't enough accolades to say how wonderful our stay was. We used this hotel as a base of operations for a wedding this past Saturday. The entire staff went out of their way to make the whole wedding party and guests welcome and comfortable. Rooms were very clean and the housekeeping worked extra hard to get rooms ready early in order for the wedding guests to be on time. We used their lobby/seating area for a after wedding party. They allowed us to use their plates and such so the hungry kids could eat the left overs. They took pictures and fawned over my daughter when she came downstairs in her wedding gown. They asked about the party bus schedule so they could inform the guests as they saw them. They went above and beyond what they had to do. I am very grateful for all the staff for making a happy weekend even better. read more

This was a nice stay and the staff was very, very congenial. Room was very clean and I liked the fact that I could check in online (pick my room) a day ahead of time when I got an email. Room was very clean, air conditioning in room and lobby area was great...hallways it seemed off but whos hanging out in the hallways right? Breakfast the next morning was oatmeal, waffles, premade omelets, hard boailed eggs, turkey sausage and standard other continental breakfast stuff...everyone could find something. Overall I'd stay here again...and thought it was a good value as we booked ahead of time at a discounted cost. The WORST experience in a hotel ever. Pretty sure the hotel had recently did a skimpy bed bug treatment. To treat you must hear to 140* or higher. (I am a property manger, so I'm educated on the subject.) I saw the wallpaper rolled up the wall about 2 feet and then reapplied, baseboard carpet was removed and staples back down. There was white powered all over the edges of the hall. Only on the 2nd floor. ICK! Mold in the bathrooms, stained chairs. Dusty Shelves. Never staying here again. read more

Great experience! Booked through a third party. Needed to make last minute changes to four different reservations for ourselves and family due to a hurricane coming up the coast on the day of our arrival. Though past the free 48 hour cancellation window, they allowed us to cancel or reschedule with no penalty. We rescheduled for following night. The staff was over the top accommodating and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Probably the largest room I have ever stayed in. Allowed for a late check-out the following day for all four rooms and then helped us find another hotel with great rates further south and closer to our destination. Highly recommend. read more

A little pricey for the quality and locations. The important things were clean (ie: sheets, towels, bathroom) but the extras seems forgotten. There were a lot of cobwebs around the ceilings and dust in the corners. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious enough. Internet is slow but works. The staff was very polite and accommodating, especially the lady who put the continental breakfast together. However, there were way too many fruit flies around the breakfast area. Great hotel, price with AAA was 89.95 for the night. Front desk clerk was friendly and gave us the absolute best recommendation for dinner. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Next morning breakfast and coffee were hot so no complaints. If your in the area and need a place to stop don't hesitate. It is small, but very well-maintained by the engineer, Raymond who was just certified in pool maintenance.
