Stayed here a couple of times in a personal capacity and been to a couple of meetings here with work. It's OK, I guess. Nothing special to comment on, although the restaurant is decent and they offer seasonal menus. The staff have always been really friendly too. The rooms are OK - pretty standard hotel stuff with your teamaking facilities, TV etc. Can't remember if there is a mini-bar. The bar itself is kind of in the main foyer of the hotel, which isn't very cosy and doesn't make for comfortable drinking! There's a huge gap in between two lengths of seats and tables, which is very wierd. I'd probably pop to Tongwynlais for a drink if I stayed here again.
On the work front, the buffet is a bit lame. Chunky chips with a salsa dip and basic sarnies. Food that fills a hole but doesn't set the tastebuds alight.
One other thing to note is that they have had trouble with break-ins in the carpark (they have a row of 'ladies only' spaces by the front door of the hotel for security/safety reasons!) so don't leave any valuables in the car. read more
