I turned the heater on the other day, and it hummed at me. No air blowing, no heat at all, just humming. Now I know it's March, but here in lower Alabama we can get all fours seasons in the span of a week, and with 5 kids in the house, 3 of them babies, this was NOT okay!!! So, off I go into the world wide web (side note--today is the internet's 30th birthday, yay technology!!) to search for an HVAC specialist. We live in Mt Vernon, Alabama, a very beautiful, picturesque, and SMALL town, so finding someone to come out and check the unit is definitely gonna involve some travel. Keep that location in mind, it becomes important later. So I call four different companies, and none of them are available for the next 4 to 7 days. Then, (thank You, Lord) I come across Mr. Daniel Connell of Quality Heating and Air. Let me start by saying, that on the day of my service call, Mr. Daniel had been working in Daphne, Alabama which is about an hour and a half on a good traffic day, from my home (told ya it would be important!) Working so hard, in fact that he missed lunch, had to grab a bite after that job and immediately headed on to my house. On the way he encountered a backup from a wreck on the interstate, and rather than take what I'm sure would have been a much needed half day off and just reschedule for the next day, he instead called to let me know that he was still on the way!! This is well into the afternoon, approaching evening. Mr Daniel and his lovely wife showed up, checked out the system, fully explained my options and also took the time to explain how each option would impact future energy bills, which is HUGELY important to any person with children. They laid out very affordable financing options and set my service for THE VERY NEXT DAY!!! The two gentlemen who arrived were, prompt, courteous, extremely professional and very efficient. I went out to get my mail during the call ( which one of the servicemen graciously went out to my mail carrier and retrieved because their vehicle was blocking my mailbox, he placed it in the mailbox for me and dutifully returned to work!) I have a small dip at the end of my walkway and when I went to the mailbox I clumsily stepped down and twisted my ankle! So I'm down on the ground, howling!!! Now my husband who works overnight is home by this time but DEEPLY asleep, it would almost take the house shaking to wake him! So the younger of the two servicemen, rushed out to me, helps me up to hold onto the gate and and back up onto my porch, he went back out to bring my my one year old who was toddling around in the yard, brought my mail to me, made sure I was comfortable, checked on my other 2 three year olds, and continued to check on me throughout their stay. They completed their call, cleaned up immaculately, and spent time with me afterwards showing and explaining how things worked. I speak three languages and I dont have adequate enough words in ANY of them to fully express how grateful I am to have been serviced by this awesome family business. This has been the most pleasant, most rewarding experience I've ever had with any kind of service and because of their fantastic and very affordable maintenance policies, I am truly looking forward to a long business relationship. Not only is their service beyond reproach, but as I said, this is a family business, and they most certainly treated me and mine as members of their very own. To Mr Daniel and your wonderful family, I extend my sincerest thanks to you all for a job well done, it has truly been a pleasure and a profound blessing to have met you all!! read more
