Mr. Electric of Baton Rouge - Mr. Electric

    Mr. Electric of Baton Rouge

Original post: Josh was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend…read more 5/5. Update as of 5/10/24: I used their services again in Feb 2024 because half of the power went out in my house. A different Mr. Electric technician came and diagnosed the issue as one of the "legs" not working. The entire right side of my breaker wasn't working due to the error. The technician advised me to reach out to my electricity service provider, so I did and they were able to correct the outage issue. I was provided a handwritten note on the back of a scrap of paper from Mr Electric's technician detailing the reason for the outage (one "leg" not working) and an official invoice that just said "diagnostics". No other distinguishable information was listed on the official invoice. I needed a specific official document detailing what service was done and what was diagnosed so that I could seek reimbursement from my electrical provider. When I called Mr Electric to inquire about additional documentation, I was told that there was none. Also, the technician that came in Feb 2024, no longer worked for the company. A male got on the phone and informed me that the technician was separated due his poor performance and did not leave on good terms. I was then given the former employee's personal cell phone number to reach out to him directly to get the information that I needed. I asked why would I reach out to him, if he no longer worked for the company. I need an official document stating what was diagnosed. Common sense should tell you that he couldn't provide that because he doesn't work for the company anymore! I was being told just anything to get off the phone. This is unacceptable and disappointing. Mr. Electric is way too expensive to have such poor documentation. Also, releasing an employee's reason of separation and personal information is a huge HR "no no". Very unprofessional and could lead to lawsuits. I will not be using their services again.

As a past customer of "CDM Electric LLC" it is time to give my review that is long overdue as my…read moreright to do so. I really thought he would settle up with our family and reimburse our payment over period of time as he would use his so call warranties. So much for any stated warranty he tells you. First, I will just say, don't walk, but run for this contractor!" At the time we haired CDM service, this contractor was not a "license electrician" as he claimed at the time he was. We trusted him at his word. What a big mistake! He does his best in trying to impersonate a license electrician! Just look at his company name and business card. He is nothing more than a handy man and has a general business license. Try looking up this company on the Louisiana state website: https://lslbc.gov/contractor-search/. You will not find CDM Electric LLC. He still is not a license electrician as I looked him up again before submitting this review. This contractor failed the St. Charles Parish electrical inspection miserably! This job he was hired for was to rewire the whole house by removing all the old non-grounded frayed asbestos wire installed in 1955 when the house was built. Then rewire the whole house up to the current electrical code to include all the proper amount of ARC fault breaker, standard breakers, switches, GFCI receptacles, standard receptacles and proper gauge wiring throughout the house. All of his electrical work was unusable and had to be removed and demo out of the house. After the failed parish inspection and CDM was notified of all the "not to code work", he refused to correct any of his work, would not even come back to the job site and became very belligerent! He argued, screamed and cursed at me as he told me that all his work was done correctly and had the nerve to say someone else came after him to our home and change his install work. Unbelievable statement! When he left the property, he activated the 5 circuit breakers he installed for the whole house (this house required at least 10 to 12 circuit breakers according the current electrical code). His work left active live wires cut open, sticking out of the walls and from the open electrical boxes. The 120-volts would have shock or killed someone if accidently touch. I had to go around the house testing for live wires and electrical wire nut capping all the cut exposed live wires. I have many pictures I wish I could show of all the "out of electrical code" violations he installed. I could go on and go. He stated I talked him down on his bid for this job. That was his excuse for not completed this job, but that never happen. This job needed was after Hurricane Ida. My family had to take my deceased parents house down to the interior studs with most all the sheetrock removed. At this time after a hurricane, contractors were hard to come by. So, we accepted his first bid to get the work started. The job scope work we agreed upon was all work to be all finished, completely tested out and be "sheetrock ready". He walked away and quit the job with more than less than have of the work completed that was not even done to code! This is not an electrical license number. So don't be fooled! With no one living that this house at the time of this work taking place, CDM personal was unsupervised. We had no chance to check and verify his work. So, I guess is this main reason we were taken advantage of. Bottom line our family lost approximately $8,500.00 as we got scam and taken advantaged of from an incompetent unqualified contractor! I am sure he will have some type of rebuttal response of stating he did everything right or was not his fault or somebody else made changes to his work like he stated to other customer who rated him with low scores! There is so much more to the issue than I could write at this time but it would take up too many pages on the website. I cannot wait to see CDM lying rebuttal as he did in court.
