I have an old 1995 Corolla Wagon that is just about to turn over to reach 300,000 miles on…read moreodometer. My rack and pinion went out. Because this part is rare, it was ordered (1 day delivery) from O'Reilly for $237 plus $119 core charge. O'Reilly had the cheapest price. Well guess what ! I paid my mechanic $200 to install it, and the O'Reilly part was already leaking before mechanic took my car off the rack. My mechanic would not take it off, unless I brought him another one, so I had to buy another one without getting refund for the first one. After another week went by, the second one was defective too. I had to pay another $200 in labor. You think I am gonna buy same part from O'Reilly a third time? Manager named Wyatt said he never heard of two defective parts in a row, in 10 years. So Carquest has a new one, which Carquest says Toyota Dealer buys this one cos it is what OEM used. I have to pay $160 MORE for this new one, than the one I bought from O'Reilly, but no core charge on top of that, that is why it is so expensive. And it has to be special ordered and shipped. I had to pay for it in advance and wait 6 days for UPS shipping. And I had to pay for car rental. When the part arrived, Carquest employee showed me the part in the box, cos of the 2 defective ones O'Reilly sold me. I paid $200 a third time to have this one installed, and after about 4 days, it is still working and not leaking that I can see. I brought back the 2 defective ones to O'Reilly and they refunded my money including the core charge. I am submitting receipts for being out $500 in labor. because of the two defective rack and pinions in a row. Plus I am asking the manager to submit request for manuf. to pay me the difference between the O'Reilly one and the Carquest one that cost me $160 MORE. I was told it takes MONTHS for manufacturer to process a labor claim. Napa told me that O'Reilly and Autozone's remanufactured parts, they only replace what was wrong with it, the bad seal, not everything in the core. Napa says their remanuf. replaces everything in the core, whether it is bad or not. I don't know what to believe, but I did not buy from Napa because they wanted to charge me $18 for shipping, which Carquest did not. I have purchased parts from Carquest in Phoenix, before, and I never had a problem, and sometimes, their prices are the best. I will never buy remanuf parts from Autozone and O'Reilly again (I won't detail my Autozone bad experiences with remanuf electrical parts such as starters and alternators). But I will continue to buy from Carquest and Napa. My car was disabled for 3 weeks, and Carquest made it driveable, finally.

Service until I got into the store was great. I ordered a battery online for in store pick-up…read more Idea was go there pick up the battery they install it for free and take the core right there. What actually happened was the manager decided to give me som BS story about how if the battery takes longer than 30 minutes to install they won't do it. So I ask them to look it up because I checked before I left and it stated they would install it. He asked for year make and model of car, I give it to him. Since it's COVID, I can see the screen as he pulls it up. It states may take up to 30 min and it's highlighted in green. He says yeah we can't do that, sorry. I brought up the fact that it doesn't say it takes more than 30 minutes and I was dismissed. Long story short I had to drive home to get my tools, install it and got back to the store in 30 minutes to get my core charge back. Manager is a clown...

I'm really grateful to Gino and Tony for being good, honest people and for helping me get my dream car. Yes, they're salesmen, but at the end of the day they're also hardworking, decent humans doing their jobs.Tony kept it real and Gino really took the time to hear me out and make sure we could come to an agreement. Finally getting around to showing my dad the serpentine belt (drive belt) I was told needed changed for 300+ dollars because it's dry and starting to crack and my dad told me it's brand new, he changed it last summer he double checked and it doesn't have a single crack on it. These guys have been scamming me for a while now, probably using me to make quota. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars here and they just took total advantage of me. PLUS put my life in danger leaving a service rag in my engine, PLUS getting all defensive basically calling me a liar or that I put the rag there, PLUS the nissan corporation telling me to kick rocks service department at the dealer works with them not for them so we can't help you. $30000+ USD of service and this is how the treat me. Almost 6 years of bringing it in the shop, 3 different service advisers later and this is how they treat customers.

Incredible experience at this AutoZone today thanks to Sage…read more Before coming here, I actually stopped by a competitor's auto care store nearby, and they weren't able to help me at all. I'm so glad I decided to try this location instead. Sage stepped up immediately and provided the kind of customer service you just don't see much anymore. He helped me find the right bulbs for both my front and rear lights and stayed to assist with the replacement. He was knowledgeable, professional, and went completely above and beyond to make sure I was back on the road safely. On top of being a pro at his job, the guy is a total legend--he's got the long hair, looks like a total rockstar, and it turns out he actually plays guitar in a band! If you want the job done right by someone who actually cares, go see Sage. He truly did an amazing job and saved the day. I'll be back for sure!

This place used to be knowledgable and customer focused. Now there are a handful of useless people…read moreworking there that know nothing and don't care about anything let alone customers. And why would a "reputable" business sell a car battery that only has a 3 month warranty, not inform the customer of this when all other batteries have multi year warranties and then "coincidentally" it goes bad at 3 months and 3 weeks. The employee's response, you chose to buy that so buy another. Been using Autozone for 30 years, but it will be Pepboys or any other place from now on.
