I was pleased with my meal here. I ordered their Buffalo Bar-b-que Chipotle Wings. They were delivered hot, cooked just right, and had plenty of sauce. The Bar-b-que and chipotle combination made for a great taste with a nice bite to it! It was a multi drink and napkin meal, ha! Speaking of drink, I ordered a Michelob Ultra. It was cold and went well with my meal. My server was polite and efficient. She came by at just the right times to check on me. The only downside to my visit was that I wanted to order their mozzarella balls which was highly recommended by previous Yelpies, but when I ordered them, I was told they were all out - what at 1:30 in the afternoon?? ... So hello wings. If you're visiting Silver City this is a worthy place to check out. There's a nice covered patio one can sit at. Waitress seems kinda nice. Update: she smelled like alcohol the text time we saw her & she never came back after that. We got a new waitress who we had to hunt down for the check. It took a total of 2 hours to get our food. Hot tea was cold on arrival. Ordered seared ahi tuna not breaded received breaded. We sent it back and they brought back the same dish but pulled off the breading and extra seared it instead ( it was like chewing rubber). Ahi tuna was the appetizer. My friends ordered a pizza to split and it was incorrect to what they ordered. My caesar salad tasted spoiled. My husband's enchilada and steak were bad enough he didn't finish it and I hardly see him leave food on his plate. Asked the bartender up front where the restroom was and she went back to talking to her coworker instead. The bar looked cool at least with all their stickers. All in all only the food runner didn't smell like alcohol and he was the most helpful. High key recommend against eating here. read more

We waited an hour for our food. I asked for a glass of water and it tasted like chlorine. When the food finally arrived (2 burgers & a salad with steak), all the meat was completely overcooked. We realized the waitress hadn't asked us how we wanted it cooked. The fries that came with the burgers had no flavor. And yes, 3.5% feet to pay by credit card. I strongly do NOT recommend this place, despite the crowds you see gathering. What an incredible disappointment. read more

This place was within walking distance of where we were staying in Silver City, so we decided to give it a try. While there was nothing really wrong with the food, there also wasn't really anything that made us say, "Wow, this is great!" We got seated right away out on the patio. It was kind of loud with traffic going by, but it was pleasant with a little breeze blowing in. We ordered the appetizer sampler and deep fried chicken dinner to share. All the food came out at the same time, which wasn't ideal...Table all full of various plates of food that we were trying to eat before it got cold. The appetizer sampler...The mozzarella balls were amazing! The chips were crunchy and crisp. The spinach artichoke dip was good, although fairly standard; wings ok; cheese quesadilla was pretty bland and didn't have a lot of cheese. We would've liked some salsa for the quesadilla, but it came with one dipping sauce. The wings did have a little ranch for dipping those. The chicken breast was huge, with lots of crispy coating and was plenty for us to share. The meat itself wasn't overly tender and had very little flavor. The onion rings were crispy and very tasty. The salad was probably my favorite item. It had lots of lettuce, peppers, green onions, tomato, cucumber, cheese, and croutons. It was fresh and delicious, but could've used a little more salad dressing for our tastes. Our server was very busy, but friendly, and checked back several times during the meal. We lucked out and were there on a night where there was some patio entertainment. A banjo player was performing some lively tunes and sometimes played a harmonica and banjo at the same time! I went twice while in town.. I was kinda disappointed they are usually really good.. first off the waitress was the same both times and was super slow. And we were the first ones there at 1130. And then even in the evening the following night, wasn't to busy but slow again my drink that night was watery and the chilie cheese fries were not that great:( and it took so long for the food and even longer for my kids quesadilla... We have tried this restaurant 3 times and we have been disappointed with the service, food being served cold, couldn't find our reservations, and this last time, we had to eat in 50 degree and Smokey room because owner hasn't fixed the heating system We had to keep our jackets and coats on! We came in on Friday night. Not many people in the entrance area, at the bar, but they were definitely loud! Waitress was very busy, but the eating area was pretty empty. My friend's chicken was undercooked. The prices were sky high. Waitress took a long long time to get out to our table, another waitress showed up. There were probaly only 15 customers. I guess when the "dinner rush" is low, the service is LOWER. Got the bill...I payed for my friend's 2 drinks, and one appetizer. I had one entree and 2 drinks also. $77.45. Then, cause I didn't have at least $80 in cash, I used my Visa. They charged me an extra 3.5% for using that. There goes part of my terrible service 'pity' tip. Waitress said "all the other restaurants do that." which is a LIE. Never going here again. I can now see why it was so empty on a Friday night. read more

Tallyah was our server who will one day, I predict, own her own restaurant because of her attention to detail and her winning smile. The three of us all picked fish dinners. Two rainbow trout and one organic salmon. All dinners came with several choices. We each picked a salad. The two trout meals added asparagus while the salmon got mashed potatoes. We waited an hour for our appetizer, after we had to remind the server. She was very sweet and admitted to forgetting to place our order and gave us 20% off the bill. We did leave her a decent tip. Understanding we are all human. The food wasn't very good. It wasn't warm and didn't have much flavor. I would not recommend. Maybe the locals get better service. read more

We were not greeted walking in the door just sat ourselves. Our server was rude and snotty and acted above us the entire time we were here. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was hot and it was supposed to be a ceaser salad and they gave me ranch. Out of everything. Water tastes funky. Burnt chicken. Went for Taco Tuesday I'd give it a 2/5 tacos weren't terrible but from what we've had in Silver City it could be way better! My meal was okay but the menu is posted no where, and many of the best options were sadly taken off. I've been here before but feel it's gone rather downhill since a few years ago. I think there's many other places to visit first rather than here it was just okay in my opinion. I really enjoyed the food here. This is hearty deliciously filling food. The mozzarella balls were out of this world! So convenient to downtown area and waking distance to other amenities. I was craving fish and chips and being in New Mexico, the seafood is kinda sketchy since it's the desert and no ocean to be found. But it was not bad at all. That with a side of sweet potato fries and call that a meal. Of course you couldn't forget the Bloody Mary. Perfectly made. But they did not but the works .. celery bacon etc on top. But food was excellent. No complaints there. We ate in the patio, cooler weather outside and even got a few drizzles . It was the perfect weather with a perfect meal. read more

I have no idea why this place is popular. The food is terrible, the service is low bar, it's over priced and the restaurant is filthy. They also have Mick's and the Buffalo Bud next door... I haven't tried the other two, but if the quality is similar to Q's, I am good. read more

The health department needs to check this place out. The half rack of ribs, recommended by the server arrived at the table and looked fine but was room temperature. I sent it back to the kitchen and it appeared to have been put under a broiler for a few minutes. It came back to the table slightly warm on the outside but again room temperature on the inside. The cole slaw was room temperature and had a sour taste. The only thing that I deemed safely edible on the plate was the fries which were actually quite good. The server was pleasant but there was no offer to comp the ribs or substitute for another menu item. We also got charged $6.00 for the chips and salsa which the server offered us while waiting for the meal. I've never been charged for 25 cents worth of stale chips and salsa especially while paying over $20 per entree. I now understand why there was only one other table in the restaurant. if you want to stay healthy eat elsewhere. The staff needs some serious training regarding food born illness. read more

Requested to be seated inside when asked by the lady at the door, and were seated outside. Eventually, staff forgot we existed. I will, at this point, acknowledge they were VERY busy and understaffed so that my words may make me seem even a little less furious. Our server got to us after around fifteen minutes and asked about drinks for the second time and did not take our order. After the drinks were brought to the wrong table ten to fifteen minutes later, they arrived and the waitress left again - without taking our order. I fully believe this one particular waitress was dragging the crew down significantly. She was anywhere from 5'0 to 5'3, wore round glasses, and due to a lack of polite way to describe builds nowadays, was heavy set. We placed our order successfully after around 40 minutes. Our food arrived at the table an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, but not after being served to the wrong table, just like our drinks. Our side dishes were all cold and we received three sets of silverware for a table of four. Two of the four at my table finished their waters very quickly, but could not get a refill even when it was requested and a voice was raised. The food wasn't half bad thankfully, but the service was abysmal and either this waitress needs to be fired (three of the four at my table did better on our first day doing restaurant/waiting work) or more staff need to be on the clock on days (or in our case, days AND nights) like these. read more

Well shoot! We thought we'd give this place another try after a long hiatus. We were both jonesin' for fish and chips, and were hoping for a new and improved meal this time around. Q's used to be our to-go place and when we ordered the above-mentioned food, it was awesome. You'd get a huge pile of fries and at least two large planks of fish. It's understood that prices are rising, as is the case here, of course -- but at least make the food worth the extra price! Nope. The photo of fish and chips shown on this site is totally misrepresenting the actual meal one receives. Our plates each had a slim piece of fish, with another one broken in half between the two of us! The fish was oily and I wrapped a napkin around the one whole piece to remove as much of the oil as I could. DItto the fries! And, they were so soggy you could spell with them, and so I did. I mentioned this to our server, who was really sweet, and she offered to have them "re-fried." As we were super hungry, we went ahead and ate what we could. I left a message for the cook on my plate, and asked the server to show it to them. I spelled out "Soggy" with an un-smiley face mouth and ketchup dot eyes. Another thing: my husband's beer arrived at our table with no head on it at all, totally flat. Surely Q's could do better than this? I doubt we'll ever go there again and it's sad because it used to be our favorite eatery in Silver. read more

Were seated right away on an add on patio. So I felt like a step child eating at the kids table. On to the food. We ordered rib eyes even though their website advertised prime rib. We settled for the rib eye. Both plates were served cold and the steaks were so fatty and grisly. My companions steak was undercooked .The sides were very good but everything on my plate was cold. My wife and I are frequent patrons at Q's Southern Bistro but our visit today, May 2, 2022, was somewhat disappointing. My fish & chips were fairly good however my wife was not happy with her luncheon burger. It was very dry. When the server brought our food she gave us each a plastic fork wrapped in a napkin! I thought this is not Blake's LotaBurger, Arby's, or Sonic, so why give us plastic forks? I walked up to the front and asked for two knives and asked the server why they were giving out plastic forks instead of silverware? Her reply was that is all you need. Oh, really? We used to love to go here as a once-a-month treat and enjoy an evening out while splitting a generous order of Q's fish and chips. Well, since the pandemic hit we'd not been there in several months and were jonesin' for the above-mentioned treat. It appears that their chef must have said "adios" while this establishment was closed because we got a to-go order of fish and chips and also ordered spinach artichoke dip. Someone called to say they don't offer the dip anymore so our split decision was an order of onion rings. Boy howdy, were we disappointed. We were astounded to find a large clump of fused-together, overcooked rings nestled on a bed of wilting shredded lettuce! And the fish portion was much smaller than we've had in the past and it was wayyy overcooked. The fries were greasy and cold. We like to treat ourselves to dinner during these hard times, and to support local businesses when we can. BUT altogether this was a very non-rewarding meal and felt it was truly a waste of money. Let's hope that when things return to 'normal' that Q's steps up and their food is as good as it used to be, post-pandemic. read more

Our server was brand new but she did a good job of double checking things with us to get the order right. The chips and three dips was okay. The guacamole was good, queso okay. I wanted to love the spinach artichoke dip but it was overwhelmingly peppery, too much black pepper. The El Mexicano plate was excellent. If you like a spicy red sauce enchilada this is your dish. BEWARE: If, as you are being seated, you see the manager compensating a table for poor service/meal, maybe it's not a good night to eat there. My wife and I have been to Q's on three separate occasions, each time with mixed results. The first time was a Saturday night. We didn't want to sit on the open patio and requested a booth in the interior dining area. The hostess quickly advised us that area was reserved for parties greater than 2 and seated us at a table in the bar area. Unbeknownst to us, the bar area doubles as the IGNORE AREA. We placed a drink order and after waiting 20 min for drinks and a waitress who never arrived, we left and went to Diane's for a fine meal. The second time was a year later and on a Friday night (6/7/19). After much debate, we decided to give Q's a 2nd chance. It was not as busy, which made for a relaxed atmosphere for wait staff. We had a wonderful meal, our waitress was great and a sensational soloist on guitar was performing on the patio. Only downside, no prime rib (served on Fri and Sat) The third and final time (6/22/19) was on a Saturday night. We witnessed the manager "comping" another table for a poor meal/service. The service was awful, the appetizer was undercooked, my steak was overcooked and they no longer serve prime rib on Saturday, even though on menu. The takeaway: DON'T go on Saturday night. read more
