A small slice of their plant selection.

Gorgeous shop. Wide variety of plants and pots available. Also well priced candles, gifts, cards etc. Attached to coffee shop next door and supports local community and cultural events. Very friendly staff. Shop local and stop by!

After having some pho and Vietnamese baguettes and desserts - it's great to swing by here and check out their plants. I have a green thumb as my grandma owned a nursery before WWII broke out, in the Philippines. So you can say that it comes naturally to me. I've purchased bonzais, a calamansi (lemon/lime) bush and a Sampaguita (otherwise known as a Philippine jasmine) bush. This is a great place to pick up deals and they are pretty knowledgeable on keeping these plants alive and well. I just clipped my bonsai the other day and it's very relaxing, you should give it a try.

The bamboo tiered pieces made for gorgeous centerpieces

This is a review I meant to post a LONG time ago. When I got married, I wanted something unique, something living to use as centerpieces. I've always liked bamboo, so I began looking around. Someone my parents knew recommended Qideas. I worked with Bill who I coincidentally knew as a little kid but I hadn't seen for many years. Bill was incredible in helping me decide on the appropriate pieces, and prices were very reasonable. It was really easy working with Bill. Every last detail including delivery and specific setup instructions were discussed and went exactly as planned. When the ballroom doors opened, guests were really impressed and commented on the beautiful centerpieces on each table. No one had seen anything like it before. Really the only problem regarding the bamboo plants was that at the end of the night, guests started fighting over bringing them home. Several rounds of intense rock paper scissors competitions broke out. Afterwards I told Bill how popular they were and that my family didn't get a chance to bring any home, so I wanted to buy a few more. He actually delivered the plants to my parents house (22 miles away from the store). Bill is incredibly thoughtful, easy to work with, and provided the most gorgeous centerpieces at a very reasonable price. We were very impressed every step of the way. My grandma in the Chicagoland area was elated to get a plant from the second delivery, and my other grandma visiting from San Francisco was able to get one from her table during the reception. She wrapped it up and put it in her suitcase, and it's still growing well to this day! I highly recommend Qideas. My experience was so positive that my sister also ordered centerpieces for her wedding which also turned out really well. If I ever host another event, I would definitely work with Qideas again. Or if I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I will absolutely support this place. Genuinely good people, reasonable prices, beautiful plants. LOVE.

Brief summary: Beautiful plants. Great prices. Information posted in each section. Excellent customer service. Bought 4 new additions. Did our research into plant shops prior to buying new plant babies. We usually have an idea of what we're looking for prior to going to any shop, yet we still like to browse around. We were mainly here for a sale we saw on their Instagram, but we perused their kitchen section also. I can't speak much on their kitchen section as we briefly browsed, but we definitely liked their items. Qideas offers quality plants for a great price! There was a variety of plants and the owner's knowledge was impeccable! I heard her explaining plant care to other customers and she had great ideas for the. It sound like they were just getting into the world of plant care. If you're in the neighborhood, want to start your plant journey, but are easily overwhelmed OR if you want new additions to your plant babies, I highly recommend Qideas.

Zenzi, ZZ, Siam aurora aglaonema, fish emulsion fertilizer. These will eventually be planted into their permanent pots.

I'm so glad I found this local shop! The prices are great and Ellen's customer service was above and beyond. With her help, I'm sure I'll keep these alive! I am now a forever loyal customer!

My new plants! They even gave me this box so I could easily walk home with them.

Ellen and her family were very kind and even allowed me to pet small adorable dogs at the front counter.

Damn, this is a great store. I wish I didn't like it so much because I can easily see myself…read morespending far too much money here. I heard of this store months ago, when I was looking up plant shops to visit. I've driven by a few times because it's only about a mile away from me. Finally, when I saw that Charlene H.'s review, I first added her as a friend and then decided I needed to get to H+T sometime soon. Serendipity would lead to me to be just a couple blocks from the shop today so I decided I should stop in. That was a mistake, because I spent a lot more money than I had intended to spend. This store is at its core a home decor store, so it's not specifically a plant shop. But they DO have an extensive collection of plants, both indoor houseplants and outdoor plants. They have starters and they have seeds as well. Of course they have just about everything you need to care for your plants too: pots, gloves, potting soil, pruning shears, and so on. They have a really nice collection of pots, by the way; in addition to some of the ones I've seen at just about every plant shop, I got a couple others that I haven't seen elsewhere and are quite beautiful. Their prices are not out of line with other plant shops in the area. But I didn't stop there, because they have a seriously beautiful collection of items to decorate your home. I restrained myself to some extent but I could have gotten a lot more. I bought a photo frame, a basket for the new ZZ plant I purchased, a raven ZZ, and the two pots. They have really beautiful picture frames here so now I need to identify photos that I want prints of so I can buy more frames. (Can we bring back film photography, please?) Clever and cute idea to put photos of Lizzo in all of the frames, I dig it. I really like my plant basket too, so I may need to buy more of them. They had some really nice side tables that I would probably use as plant stands since some of them are small... or if I had more fancy furniture in my home too, I suppose. This is a store that I would love to buy things from because they'd make my home look sophisticated. The staff were really friendly, welcoming, and happy to help me. They charged me twice for one of the pots, but I realized that before leaving and they fixed it straightaway. Then when I realized I had bought a 5x7 frame instead of a 4x6 frame, the return was easy. But they do have a more conservative return policy than a mass merchandiser would, so be sure that you understand the return policy before you purchase.

She didn't catch the name of the woman she worked with on the phone but raved about her energy and how helpful she was. I appreciated that they made sure everything was cat friendly, no lilies here! A gentleman called to confirm my availability for a delivery and it was easy to give instructions on where to leave the flowers. He was so friendly! They were delivered with care. The bouquet is simply gorgeous and I cannot stop looking at it. I will definitely work with Rogers Park Florist next time I need fresh flowers!

First, orchids are hot house flowers so should be available year round. Second, the family should have been contacted for approval prior to such a severe change. Lastly , dang the florist substituted a high market value flower for a exceedingly less costly alternative (we were never offered a discount for the substitute) If you can imagine ordering the photo below... but on that special day getting a sunflower arrangement, poorly done Roger's Park Florist, poorly done

This is a tiny shop, but it is PACKED with botanicals…read more The shopkeeper was friendly and quite knowledgeable, but he wasn't wearing a mask and this was a few days to a week before the mask mandate ended in Chicago (February 28, 2022) and I'm already a bit wary so I headed out. I'm not sure if that was on purpose or he didn't realize, but it was getting a little crowded in the store for me anyway so probably would have been ready to leave regardless. There are lots of plants, and my understanding is that not everything is on display since they're short on space in the main area of the shop. They have a nice collection of orchids, too; I actually considered getting one, but changed my mind. For some reason I think of them as being somewhat... difficult, or needing more attention (whether that's true or not I'm not sure), and I have enough responsibilities with the plants I already own (especially one of my calatheas that's being a bit of a drama queen at the moment!). I may have to try my hand at an orchid sometime, though. The aforementioned shopkeep gave me a huge boost of confidence that I could. In our discussion he mentioned the crucial point that orchids are just plants that flower more often than other botanical houseplants folks might keep, even though many green houseplants may flower under the right conditions. Once an orchid stops flowering, they're still plants without the flowers for you to care for. Food for thought! They also have a shop pet, which was a surprise! I don't like lizards, but luckily this one was in an enclosure. I was a bit startled, though, so be forewarned that the little guy is hanging out in his plexiglass home--he won't hurt you, since you won't be able to touch him, but I as I said, I was surprised! They don't have a huge collection of pots, but the plants all looked lovely and healthy. They have some popular favorites, but it also seemed they had some more unusual and harder to find plants. They have displays for live plant walls for which you can consult with them to install in your home or office, too, if you wish. Parking on this stretch of Damen is touch and go, and it's paid, so plan accordingly.
