I went this past week because I was looking for 2 specific items that I wasn't able to find at 2 other large Asian markets. Someone had suggested this Market because of the extensive ethnic choices. It has Asian (Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Filipino), European, South American, Hispanic and American items. There are sections that have premade Asian meals, fresh seafood, extensive fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, pantry staples, bakery items, almost anything you might want. It's a large market and you could spend hours going up and down the aisles exploring. I was surprised to find they even had a favorite pop that I only thought I could get in Michigan. Now I know that I can go here and get it, without having to have it ordered online. It can get busy on the weekends when everyone is doing their weekly shopping, but I went later in the day and was able to find parking and not bump into people or long lines.

You have to get one of the big shopping carts out the parking lot yourself. The produce section is huge and loaded with the freshest produce. The prices look bigger than Kroger put on the same level as Publix. This place is essentially an international market mixed with a farmer's market .The seafood section is humongous. I got some sushi, grilled Markel, and chicken fried rice from the korean section. In the butcher section, I got pork belly, goat, lamb, chicken wings, and pork shoulder. All the food was amazing.

I had found this syrup down at the Buford's Farmer's Market, but that's such a drive for me, so I was cautiously optimistic stepping into this little store in Alpharetta. Lo and behold they did have the syrup I was looking for, but the brand was different. I will say the taste was a bit off from what I was used to, but the bottle was bigger and the price was right. I'd say if I had the time, I'm driving to the Buford market, but if not...this place will do me just fine. Now moving past my entire reason for entering, I did notice this place has a variety of items from vegetables and fruits to nuts to drinks to the biggest pieces of flatbread I've ever seen. They take cash but can also do Zelle. Pricing was not bad. I spent around $90 for a large watermelon, 2 squash, 4 cucumbers, 10-12 peaches, 10-12 tomatoes, 2 cantaloupe, 2 onions, 4 oranges, chow chow and the peas. All of the items were super fresh. This event is held once yearly and is a rain or shine event. The mix of items and artisans changes - this year, we found an especially interesting woodworker who makes everything from tables to clocks from old wine casks and an artisan who turns empty wine bottles into honestly beautiful jewelry. There were several home decor stalls, an all-natural soap/lotion/bath salts/candle maker, some cool leather items for sale and one really artistic booth with vignette boxes featuring dolls. In addition to the European Market, many of the the Alpharetta merchants roll out their wares to the sidewalk and downtown becomes the place to be...stroll along the farmer's market and get fresh bread and vegetables (and a delicious scone for dessert!), then take in the European Market for gift ideas or for your own home. As with all events downtown, parking isn't a challenge - the large (and free) parking deck at City Hall is never full and with the new pedestrian crosswalk across Main Street, getting to the event is both easy and safe.
