The positive part of my experience at Qnails in St Albert was the walk-in service. The experience declined from there... .The technician arrived seemingly flustered and rushed...she was not friendly and spoke to her colleagues without acknowledging me as a client. .Her tools came from a glass on the table not containing any disinfectant .She proceeded in a very hurried fashion to trim my nails and cuticles and left 3 of my fingers bleeding at the cuticles' sites .She blamed this on my 'dry' cuticles .The shop overall was untidy and did not appear clean...the towels she used on my hands were stained and she did not wash her hands between me and another client .I saw no evidence of tool cleaning or disinfection between clients .People other than the technicians and clients (could have been technician's family members?) strolled around the shop casually eating and randomly dropping food bits Overall this was not a pleasant experience because of the factors mentioned! Infection control measures and good communication are the hallmarks for a business supplying person care of this nature...this company did not deliver those elements read more

I have been here before and had no issues. However this experience was different. I called prior to coming in. My two grand daughter and my daughter and I had our nails done. My youngest got a manicure with nail polish. My second grand daughter got tips put on. My daughter and I ask for gel over lay on our natural nails. It was a complete rush job. My grand daughter was cut and bled. When I was choosing the nail polish there is no marking of what polish is what. I was looking for a Christmas green. I picked my colour. Not aware of what I was getting and pricing. While already doing the procedure she then informed me of the price $70 for this gel overlay. I went in with long nails at least longer than what I came out with. So I was upset how short they are. I had spoken to this lady while doing my procedure telling her I was nervous and she ignored me. I finally got her attention saying excuse me. But let me tell you she did not miss out on a conversation that the other ladies were having. I didn't even know they were talking to her and all of a sudden she would blurt out something. Of course I couldn't understand what was being said. Regardless of that, the whole procedure was rushed and caused me to be uncomfortable as I'm not one to get my finger nails done. In the end we paid 269.00 for the four of us ....38.00 for manicure, $55 tips and $70 for my gel overlay, and $ 55 for my daughter gel overlay. My issue isn't with the work they did but just how sneaky they are and lack of transparency. They don't give you a receipt. They don't discuss charges right up front and they do something they are not asked for. I was given two rings to choose colour off of. Only one had one Christmas green. I said I liked this one and want something like it. She never explain it was chrome based nail polish or offered me any other choices. I was unaware my daughter had already paid. She was standing in the mall looking at their pricing and one of the ladies rushed out to explain what her charges were. Basically, I think there needs to be more transparency upfront about prices, types of polish and treatments ......make it clear before we have anything done. I've never had someone rush so bad....ever. Barely even scrubbed my feet. Was 15 seconds because I timed it. missed entire steps And then when she noticed I was upset she started trying to start conversation. Annoying.... Worst pedicure ever. Please save your money and go elsewhere. I regret the moment she started the pedicure. I should have just got up and left but the other ladies were half way done my daughters feet. read more

This nail salon is terrible. When I walked in, several staff members were eating lunch as a group on one of the nail desks. I thought this was unsanitary. Next, I had my nails done. I got acrylic nails with a gel overlay. I told the woman that my natural is very thin, and to please be careful. She filed my nails too much with the drill, despite me asking her not to. Then, she used a nail file to file the edges. She filed to the point of bleeding on several nails, despite me asking her repeatedly to be careful. Lastly, my nails are full of tiny bubbles all over. They look terrible. When I brought this to her attention, she offered me a free fill in two weeks. I said that I didn't want her to do them again, and so she told me it would be free. Then she repeatedly said "go, go, go" until I left the salon. Overall, the customer service was horrible and my nails look bad. Avoid this place, unless you like being treated like crap and having you fingers bleed. read more

The staff kept asking me to do a more expensive pedicure, although I refused many times. I didn't enjoy the pedicure at all. The staff heard that I only wanted the basic pedicure. She only did her job super fast and didn't care how I felt about her service. It was too rough and rushed. read more

I told her I had ingrown toenail surgery - she still proceeded to clip where there was no nail until I flinched in pain and saw red on my nail bed. I didn't notice any of their instruments were in any sanitizing solution. She changed the colour of my polish without consulting me. Not happy. I had went in and asked for a gel set, nothing fancy, as we are sitting there i over here he tell a lady it cost 50$ for a gel set, once we were done I was charged 80$ for what?! I only asked for two Color's and couldn't get what I wanted done, said she couldn't put the gems on if I wanted matte. So that's fine. I pay and leave. 4 days later a mail brakes like nothing, and now just today another one breaks while I'm trying to put my pants on. If I wanted them to fall off that fast I would have went with stick on! I don't not recommend this place at all read more

Wanted to get a nail fill they said a new set would be better said ok but god they are so pushy and they want to charge you for the air you breath every time Iwould ask for a color or design they say its 10$ extra then 5$ extra all what they care about is money not service... left with ok nails didnt have the colors I wanted and didnt want to do the design I asked for cz they were rushing and of course not to mention them speaking in chinese complaining about me as if you can't tell if somebody is talking about youso rude! Went to get a nail fill , had daughter with me . They asked if I wanted to get her nails done , I said no thanks . They kept pushing. She is 10. I said how much ? she said 25! I said sorry that's too much for a kid. She said she will do them for 15 , I said that's ok . She kept insisting, finally I agreed on 15. Then she said she will also do her feet. I said no , she insisted only 15, to my dismay, I agreed . I said, don't do shellac bc it's too damaging to the nails for a kid. She said she will do only a thin thin layer . I go to pay, she said 50 for my 10 year old. I said you said 15 for each . So 30! She said I gave her a manicure . I said I never asked for a manicure !! Or shellac !!!! Then she tells me 55 for colour on my nails for fill . I said I usually pay 42-45! All in all Michelle has terrible customer service is extremely rude. Argued with me , I will never go back and tell all my friends especially those who live in St. Albert to stay away from this place . I felt sorry for the girls who work under this woman. Treated my daughter to a visit here today, promising her it was definitely one of the best salons I've been to. Again, not a single complaint. We both had a pedicure/manicure combo with gel polish, carefully attended to the entire time. Linda was attentive and offered good advice on how to tell future workers exactly what I preferred. I seldom allow anyone to do my fingernails because I detest messiness, but she did a lovely job. I'll be back! read more

If I could give this nail salon 0 stars I would. Absolutely the worst service and workers, so horrible I had to get up at the beginning of my appointment and leave because they continued to push towards acrylic nails when I repeatedly said I did not want them. At one point there were 5 nail techs crowded around the space trying to figure out what dip powder I already had on. Not sure how they are even open here anymore. read more

Went into get my nails done today, left with big chunky nails. I went back a couple of hours later as I walked in to the salon the ladies where all at a desk eating. I apologize to the lady but asked if she can fix my nails. I even said I'd pay for her to fix them. She just argued with me and told me that's how they were supposed to look. Then all three ladies gathered around arguing with me. So I just turned around and left. So I went across the parking lot to awesome nails and they fixed me right up! Ava was amazing read more

I normally get my nails done in Edmonton, but broke two and needed a place close to home. I live in St. Albert and I'm very picky about who does my nails. I stopped in here and they were able to fix the two and refill the rest quickly and professionally! They have the new chrome colours and she did an amazing job and a gel overlay to keep them from breaking easily. I was very impressed. The only downside was the price for the fill and chrome but I'll take it for nails that are done right! Definitely coming back. read more

Terrible! I have gone here for both manicures and pedicures, never receiving good quality any time I went. I finally went with a friend and our daughters and it was horrible! They cut my toe so badly it bled for 10 minutes, my friend had blisters they continued to hit and they charged full price for our 9 year old daughters. No discounts at all and we were also forgotten for half an hour. Terrible service and I will never go back. read more
