Really enjoyed this place for the Island Social portion. We didn't go to the casino we went to the Duck pin Bowling and the arcade. The staff was great and really checked in on us. The beer selection was good and the food was great as well. If you haven't tried duck pin bowling it's a great time and a great way to waste some time away.

Nice video poker games but the smoking will make it unpleasant

Casino's that are non smoking not only see higher gambling and attendance but create a healthy environment for employees. This casino chooses to put their patrons and employees at risk by allowing smoking which is very thick as soon as you walk in. I only was there 1 hour and now my cloths smell and my eyes burn. Not going here again unless this policy changes. If not for the smoking casino would be nice.

Decent casino. I was shocked and thrilled it was not filled with smoke. People were smoking but mostly everything filtered out quickly. A couple times people were smoking cheap cigs and that wafted over and was nasty but overall very tolerable. Lots of seniors gambling. There were plenty of tables and slots open. We saw Kings of Radio in the Q room. Way smaller than other casino theaters. There were a few tables and chairs scattered in the room but it was mostly standing. The sound was bad. Very disappointing. It was tinny and distorted. The sound guy must have been off that day. Bartenders were friendly. Definitely not a Vegas casino but okay for Dubuque.

Have your IDs ready when you walk through the door or thou shall not pass. I really like this casino more than the Dejope chains, it's much less smokey and the center bar in the casino is reminiscent of the casinos in Vegas. The blackjack tables had really friendly dealers, maybe that's how I was able to turn a profit from my measly $20 buy-in. Most BJ and Roulette tables were $5 minimum. The Video Poker machines are in the back, just look for a sign on the wall towards the back.

Johnny Bench and Ozzie Smith. The Mystique brought in a bunch of hall of famers for a charity softball game

We spent 700 and didn't get into one bonus. I have eaten at the buffet but was not impressed.

The general admission floor area gains you an up close and personal experience right up to the stage. Unlike many venues there's even a concession stand near the front area. You can't beat $3 cans of beer at a concert. Of course being a casino there's even a few dozen slot machines within the venue to pass the time while waiting for your act to start. We saw The Struts and they really put on a high energy show. Our tickets were $30 and with that we were within touching distance of the group throughout the show. This was our first venture to Mississippi Moon Bar and the Diamond Jo Casino, and likely will not be our last.

Also, cigarette smoke. But I really wanted to see The Mavericks perform so I went with my best friend. I was surprised how nice it was. I had a floor GA ticket and my friend was stuck standing by the bar. I tried to upgrade her ticket to no avail. They said the floor was filled to capacity due to fire rules. However we were able to get her down there anyway. I almost laughed out loud at their definition of "full". In New Orleans or Philly, this floor would only be considered 2/3 full. There was plenty of room which made it great! The acoustics were quite good. Great sight lines. Staff friendly and drinks cheap. No one was smoking in the music venue, only in the casino itself. Free garage parking. There are a couple of restaurants and a Subway if you want a quick hoagie. I did not eat here.

A person would think they would have more available on the property itself. The idea is to keep people at the casino and playing. We go off property for lunch also. I don't know maybe a person needs to bring food along like packing for a picknick? ‍We bought two cups of black coffee at $3.50 each and the coffee was barely warm. Many of themed slots they had for years that we did like to play are gone. We have fewer for choices, that's for sure. At least they have kept some of the older slots which is a plus. We had some problems with our room. Our mattress at home is a newer firm mattress. The mattress here appeared to be a newer one and it wasn't firm....it was outright HARD. Just about like laying on a piece of plywood, well almost. My wife could only sleep on it about 3-4 hours and then slept on the couch. That wasn't much more comfortable. Maybe they got some deal on them when they replaced a number of them at once or something? If that's what happened we don't think it was a very good deal. And this is from people such as us that prefer a firm mattress so, IDK. Some problem with HVAC. If you get the temp about correct for the front room the bedroom is very cold. Confusing thermostat, no selection if it's set for heat or A/C. Just arrows up and down for temp. I've never seen a thermostat like that anywhere that I've ever stayed before, not ever. We tried to call down and get a blanket from housekeeping or the front desk but when you press the buttons on the phone for housekeeping or front desk they are "busied out". They just go to a busy signal and that's it. Bad enough if just staying for one night, but more than one night, not good. Seemed like to us that some taking are of the customer is in need.

Got here pretty late post 11 PM CST, booked a room through their website, it was fairly priced, out the door 160-170 ish a night. No hidden Vegas Fees. Was tempted to go on their casino floor, but decided not to, they have tighter security than Yamaava in Highlands California, too lazy to go through their check point. My net loss for the period was over $4,000, and what did this "generous" casino give me in return? Ten measly dollars in free slot play. That's it. One sad little $10 voucher for the "Mystery Gift Card Giveaway," "Spring into Slot Play," and "Match Board Madness" promotions they plaster all over the place. After SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in action, they hand you a coupon worth less than a tank of gas. Disgusting. I've been to plenty of casinos, but I've never seen a rewards program this insulting. Elite Casino Resorts (the company that owns this dump) clearly thinks their customers are suckers. The flyers promise "free slot play" and "gift cards," but when you actually show up and lose tens of thousands, you get treated like a broke tourist who wandered in off the street. The entire operation feels deliberately designed to squeeze every last dollar out of loyal players and then spit in their face with pathetic crumbs. The casino floor is tired, the promotions are a joke, and the player's club is an outright rip-off. If you're dumb enough to gamble here, don't expect anything resembling value or appreciation for your business. They'll happily take your $62k and hand you back enough free play to maybe win $8 on a penny slot before it's gone. This crooked, greedy, worthless business can rot. I will never spend another cent at Rhythm City Casino & Resort or any other Elite Casino Resorts property. Save your money and your dignity -- go literally anywhere else.
