I travel a lot and like to see a movie in the road now and then. This theater is one of the better I have been to. Comfort, picture, sound and cleanliness are my top priorities and this place does well in all four categories. Did seem to be staffed by very young employees that were neither a positive or a negative. Food prices are crazy, but that's true at most (all) theaters. read more

Yes you can watch many first-run movies on TV now, but I like the BIG screen. That is the real movie experience. AMC provides what I am looking for! This AMC is relatively easy to get to and there are a number of good food places nearby if you want "dinner and a show." Parking in the very large lot is easy since attendance is low. We have seen a number is shows where the theatre was nearly empty (saw one that was a "private screening"). One complaint: the parking lot needs a serious resurfacing; beware the pot holes and low spots. Service is fine. Limited staff like everywhere, but the job gets done. I can see why some might pass on applying. Here's a story from 2 nights ago. I witnessed an angry customer show why customer service is a deterrent to young, new hires. An old guy gave a young new employee $X.05 to pay for tickets costing $Y.02. Change was to be $Z.03. Totally confused the kid. Why? No one knows how to make change any more because the cash register does the computation. And somehow the cash register didn't tell the kid the change. The old guy went ballistic. Yelling at the kid. Making a scene. Absolutely NO need for that. An older employee at the adjacent register helping us apologized, but the old guy wouldn't hear it--he continued. The adult employee said something like, "It doesn't help the kid by yelling at him." The old guy still went on and then even continued to grumble about it to his wife as we walked into the theater. What a crab (comment edited for publication ). Kudos to the adult employee for standing up for the kid! Concessions are as one would expect. Restrooms could be cleaned more often. Not horrible, but floors get a bit slick with moisture in the men's room. Theaters are nice. The chairs will rock, though this location is not equipped like the newer ones with recliners and with food service. Multiple screens make it easy to find a movie to enjoy. We will go back. honestly never heard of a theatre closing their registers 15 mins after the last movie starts. they were not accommodating at all. if your hours say 11am-11pm I assume your registers are still on at 9:15 pm. read more

This is a nice movie theater. There is one kiosk I saw when I entered the theater. I expected more as this is a large theater. However, the front desk had sufficient staff to handle the small number of people coming in for movies. The food stand was adequately staffed for the number of people there and we were able to move quickly through the lines. We arrived early, so were able to take advantage of the chairs and tables set up around the lobby. It would have been nice if there were a few other activities (video games/games, etc) in the area to allow people to do other things while waiting for the movie. The theater itself was nice and clean. We love the stadium seating and the fact that the chairs recline. The volume was not too loud nor was it too quiet so hearing and seeing the movie were a great experience. If you want to have a movie night with a family or friends, this is definitely a good choice. read more

Overall a nice theater. Decent snack selection, comfortable seats, clean theater. I did find in the main hallway that the rug was billowing up, causing a tripping hazard in multiple locations, not a good situation for a patron with hands full of treats. The main issue I have with this theater and the reason I will not be returning is the outlandish charge for the 3D glasses. At $3.50, the glasses' cost was almost as much as child's matinee admission and almost 50% of the admission for an adult matinee. read more

Very nice, newer build theatre -- large selection of snacks and drinks at the concession stand and stadium seating with seats that rock, yes literally rock! So if you don't like the movie, you can probably rock yourself to sleep and have a great nap. read more

As much as I enjoy going to a small town movie theater. I also have fun at the cinemas. This one I really like. Located on the north end of Dubuque, the place is easy to get into and out of. Minimal traffic, unlike at some cinemas. A larger selection of food and beverages compared to a small town theater. And the actual theaters offer more leg room with wider seats. Making for a very comfortable movie going experience. And the prices aren't too bad either. read more

My husband and I went to see a movie at AMC. We typically go to a competitor theater because if I'm going to pay a ridiculous amount of money to see a movie I might as well be in comfort. I was extremely disappointed to see how AMC has became greedy. We got a large popcorn and drink. In prior years we could get unlimited refills on the popcorn if we had a large. Now you can only do that if you're a stubs member. We live in a neighboring town 25 minutes away. We would have no use for it! Also, many soda flavors were out of order in the machine. A whole set of bathrooms were out of order. Then a butter dispenser was out of order as well. I'm sorry to say, AMC is not what It used to be. read more

Make sure your pretzel bites are actually cooked before the movie starts. Biting into frozen pretzel bites is the worst.

Your average movie theatre. No extra frills. I did notice that it was not adequately staffed though...but I did go on a Sunday afternoon (around 5), so maybe that's why it was like that. read more

I've been to a few movies here over the years. I found it a nice, comfortable place to watch movies. The food is good. The seats are fairly comfortable as well. My only complaint (and its one I have with a lot of modern theaters) is that they turn the volume up a bit too high on films - to the point of being painful. read more

This cinema is clean and friendly. The seats are roomy and its not totally freezing inside like other movie theaters.

Worst experience in my life! First I forgot my ID so I couldn't see the movie I wanted to see after driving 45 minutes to this theater and then the lady called me retarded! WHAT?! I am a willing paying customer and you call me retarded? No! I traveled 45 minutes to a movie specifically for one movie that was playing at 10:10 PM and they refused to let me see the movie because I forgot my ID. So dumb I seen a different movie since I drove all that way but worst experience won't ever go there again! read more

I love this theater the only thing to change is the prices are outrageous and the snack bar closes very early! I bought a drink and went to get a refill and they were closed. Going to AMC is the high point of our weekends! We LOVE the Service here! I'm always impressed to see the Managers stepping in to work Concession side by side with the clerks, role modeling their exceptional customer service style. Lines can be long at great theatres like this, but these people RACE to get you taken care of! The wide variety of hot foods and snacks are always fresh and tasty! (We love the fresh baked Pretzel bites with hot Nacho Cheese sauce!) The popcorn is constantly flowing from the popper and they only use 100% Coconut oil (Healthiest). And you gotta see this huge Lobby! It's like walking into a Cathedral dedicated to Motion Picture Arts with a beautiful 30 foot commissioned mural done with a Riverboat theme. It's really thoughtfully suited with tables and chairs and even a video game room. The restrooms are modern and kept sparkling clean. The Stadium Theatre seating is roomy and plush and yes, they even recline! (We lift up the armrest so we can cuddle up while watching the show). There's always an abundance of movie choices and the Sound system is top notch: not too loud, not too soft. Always warm enough in winter and cool on those hot summer nights.
