I booked an appointment with Queenie during her $100/hr special. I've had over a dozen tattoos, and my husband is fully covered, so we know how tattoo sessions typically go. What I experienced here was unlike anything I have before. I sent Queenie pictures when I initially scheduled the appointment and then a few more on the day of when she told me that she had already drawn something up and would have to delay our appointment by an hour since I was changing that. When I booked, I had only sent her a few ideas of what I was thinking so she had a rough idea of placement, timing, etc. I assumed we would work together to design something when I arrived. It was never communicated to me that she would be drawing something up ahead of time. We had to spend a good amount of time taking elements out of the design That she had created because it was much busier than I wanted. Then she spent a long time creating the stencils and even running downstairs several times to replace the toner cartridge. None of this was a big deal when I didn't realize I was getting charged $100 an hour for it. When she put the stencil on I said I felt like the scale was off and that we needed to go smaller. Instead of working with me, she snapped, "Do you just want to come back another day?!" and told me that she would need to charge me if this kept taking longer. I told her I was happy to pay to get this tattoo right. We removed a few more elements and at that point, I just felt pressured to move forward and super overwhelmed so I said we were all good to go. During the tattoo, I asked what she was considering for her back tattoo, and she made multiple comments about how bad ornamental work (Which is the Style of tattoo she was doing for me) looks next to realism (which is the large back piece that I already). She was basically saying how bad my design choice was without saying it. I didn't even hear it at the time but I can't imagine that's accidental by a tattoo artist. To criticize putting the two styles I'm having permanently on my body, right to me, was pretty rude. By the end of the session, she charged me $400 for four hours, even though a large portion of that time was on design and stencil. I still tipped 20% and even left an additional $100 deposit for a follow-up appointment, hoping to move forward and not realizing how much I compromised the tattoo I was getting. When I later texted her about the timing and thought maybe we did the math wrong, she stood by it and told me my tattoo would've been $650 with anyone else. Then I told her my concerns with the tattoo and she asked how I would want to fix it - basically agreeing to work on it and apologizing that I wasn't happy and felt rushed. When I sent her pictures of what I was thinking, and that I was even considering lasering off part of it so that I wouldn't have to compromise the design I wanted, she suddenly said that she didn't think we should work together anymore--but still refused to refund my $100 deposit. So not only did I have a terrible experience and get overcharged, but she also kept an extra $100 deposit for work she refuses to do. Tattooing is personal and Not everyone is a good fit for each other. I totally get that. We clearly shouldn't work together, but to not return my deposit when you are the one not willing to book another appointment is wild. I absolutely wouldn't recommend booking with Queenie. read more

By far the worst tattoo experience I've had. Shawn was rushed, sloppy, rude and homophobic. My fiance stopped into the shop earlier in the day to see if they had time for a couple walk-ins because we were passing through Boise and wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate our road trip. They said they had plenty of time and we came back when they told us to. My fiance went with a different artist and he was much more personable and more talented and I got Shawn. First he complained to his coworker that he was supposed to go home so he was clearly already pissed he had to stay. Not sure why you would agree to do a tattoo that you didn't even want to stay around for. I brought in a design from Pinterest and he immediately complained about it. He was clearly bored and wanted to get out of there and had zero interest in it. He put the stencil on and it looked pretty good so he started on the tattoo. He was friendly enough at first but when I mentioned that my fiance was a woman he was quiet the rest of the time. He got through the tattoo VERY fast. I've had way simpler tattoos take much longer. And considering I paid for the full hour of his time, I was pretty irritated that he put so little time and effort into it. When he finished, he had gotten the stencil ink literally all over me. My entire hand was solid purple, there was ink on my face and later I noticed it was all over my shirt that I had kept tied around my waist during the tattoo. Not sure how you could be so sloppy to literally get ink everywhere on me but he was also just super unprofessional. He didn't tell me how to get it off or apologize for getting it all over my hands and face and clothes. Also the tattoo was on my arm so literally don't understand how he spilled ink everywhere else like a toddler. I literally had to ask one of the other artists how to clean it off. I kid you not the whole tattoo, which was a fairly intricate wildflower design, was done in about 15 minutes. When he finished he rudely asked, "Do you want to go show it to your friend or whatever?" talking about my fiance who I was clearly with and who very obviously was not my friend. I just paid you good money for a tattoo, you had a whiny attitude, rushed through it, and then call her my "friend". Then I went to the bathroom to wash all the ink off me and get a better look and the tattoo looks nothing like the design I gave him. Not to mention I have weird bruising that I haven't gotten with any of my other tattoos and people agreed that he must have just been very rough and rushed for it to bruise that much. 0/10 would not recommend, will not be back, and will make sure to tell people to avoid Shawn. I included a picture of the design I wanted vs what I got and I almost have to laugh it's so badly done compared to the original. To top it all off, they hid my original Google review calling them out on their bs. I have since reached out to them directly to discuss my experince and received no response. I later texted the shop number from a friend's phone pretending to inquire about a tattoo and got an immediate response. Any decent business would make an effort to resolve a valid complaint from a paying customer. Guess "pure blood, patriot, flag and freedom loving, gun caring mother fucker!!" (from Shawn's social media bio) doesn't translate to decent human being. Considering you don't know how to spell "carrying" I'm not surprised by your complete inability to have a conversation about this issue. read more

My niece and I wanted matching tattoos and had originally planned to go in March. Unfortunately due to COVID 19 we weren't able to go as planned. This week we were able to call and make and appointment and consult for the tattoos with Patrick . Everyone was very friendly and the location is super sanitary and comfortable. Overall we had a great experience. I was a hit disappointed that none of the employees were wearing masks, which I think is a requirement, but we felt safe. Nonetheless. The tattoos turned out great and the price was totally reasonable. Patrick was very professional and is an amazing artist. I strongly recommend this place, which I think must be a hidden gem! Also, there is parking the back of the building which makes it super easy to access! Finally, please remember to tip these folks, they work hard and deserve tips! read more

Pyramid Tattoo Co. is an incredible business that resides in a building with a great history behind it. The 5 artist that tattoo there are all very talented and offer different but beautiful styles and ideas.The artists are willing to work with you and I have never had an issue getting in for an appointment. I personally have been tattooed there 7 times and every experience has been full of funny jokes and amazing work. Awesome shop. Kevin Blamires has tattooed my father, brother, and I and we are all very happy with his work. I was a little nervous to get a somewhat large piece that covers most of my forearm considering how visible it would be, but Kevin did a great job and I get complimented on it at least once a week. He cooperated with me to give me exactly what I wanted, wasted no time, and was kind and professional through out the process.
