I've been spoiled at certain times in my life…read more I was born in Southern California and spent my very young years living three blocks from the beach and a short drive from Disneyland. I got out of having to be in the band, chorus or orchestra in middle school because my mom was a PTA big shot and pulled some strings. Every time we drove up from Jersey to Penn State to drop me off at college, the same mom would stop at the beer distributor and pick me up a case of Yuengling. And The Chatham Club was the first gym I ever went to. But being spoiled doesn't always have its privileges. Every other gym is ruined for me because none can keep up with this place. I've been a member here three separate times in my travails in and out of living in this area, and every time they seem to have something new for the members. With my recent membership I noticed 3 stationary bikes with large screens attached to them. They aren't TVs but provide you the opportunity to ride virtual courses. Instead of just being told there's a hill by some LCD screen, you see the hill approaching with the ocean to your left. Very cool stuff. They have a huge assortment of treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and machines (a separate spinning studio also). Pretty much everything you could need is here and then some. If there's any sort of minor complaint, the free weight area is a little small and can get crowded if you go during a busy time, but it's not too bad. There are also 6 squash courts if that's your thing plus an aerobics studio, pilates and probably tons of other things I don't even know about. Just get off your butt and go already.

This gym is (thankfully) not a cheap membership, but all equipment is top of the line and everyone, from towel guy to manager (long time friend, Darren Worts) is friendly and conscientious (did I spell that rite ?) Geoff Mitchell has been the squash pro for as long as I've been a member...just don't play him at pool, for money....or for that matter, any other hand-eye related sport ! Great place and the long time former (retired) manager, Chris Rutgers gets a real five star review ...mwah

The food is consistently excellent, and the holiday buffets--especially for Mother's Day and Father's Day--are always a highlight. The building itself is stunning, filled with history, character, and beautiful architectural details that make every visit feel special. Whether we're dining, meeting friends, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, the experience is always exceptional. The Harvard Club offers a unique combination of tradition, hospitality, and elegance that keeps us coming back. It's one of our favorite places in New York City, and we enjoy every aspect of being members.

Almost like walking into a movie set or walking back in time. It was decorated from top to bottom and from side to side and I almost forgot I was in NYC. The chair we were sitting on wasn't very comfortable. It was heavy to move and hard but the table was large and spacious. Food wise, I had their crab cake for appetizer and their rib eye for entree. The crab cake was okay. I prefer if the side crust was more golden and crab meat was mixed a little too much so I couldn't taste the lump crab meat itself. Steak was good and tender but wish they gave a little more mash potatoes. As for dessert I had their tiramisu and thought it only tasted okay. It's not the authentic traditional tiramisu that I was craving for. All in all I'm glad I came here and got to experience what the Harvard Club is all about.
