They stock things like notebooks, photo albumns, cushions, throws, money boxes and re-useable shopping bags. They do a great range of jewellery and some fantastic wine glasses made from recycled glass bottles. Buy your gifts here and shop with a clear conscience. The staff are friendly and the shop has a relaxed, laid back atmosphere; they're used to people just browsing. It's not cheap, but not too dear either and you're paying for ethical goods.

Other than that other things I've noticed they sell are general York and The Minster souvenirs and small keepsake items. It's a nice shop but really small so I steer clear if it looks too busy, which it often is due to tourists.

Porta Dextra is a wonderful little gift shop in the shadow of York city walls. It sells a number of handmade gift ranges from very talented artists ranging from classic to quirky and to suit all budgets. There is a good range of glassware, cards and jewellery. If I could, I would buy all of their cufflinks! The staff are always cheery and helpful. The shop welcomes browsers. If you're in the Minster area, why not take a wander up? You won't regret it!

Angela is a Master Florist and does everything from general bouquets to weddings and funerals. She once even made a car out of flowers (how?!) If you're looking for flowers in York I'd definitely recommend popping in here.
