We did the Sacred Stones escape room and it was SO much fun. The Sacred Stones room was a pretty tough escape room in my opinion and because it was just the two of us we needed a bunch of clues to help us along. Unfortunately we didn't escape but Megan was an EXCELLENT game master and gently helped us along our adventure. We tended to be on the right path but needed a little nudge here and there at times. The room was themed so cool and it was so much fun figuring out the clues. It was such a fun way to enjoy one of the last weeks of 2023. It was a first time for my brother-in-law and his wife, and it started getting them kind of hooked. We've all done a few here and there since then, and we still think that this place does a particularly good job. There's a good level of challenge, and they provide some pretty good backstory to go along with the room too. More recently, we went to try out their second room, The Estate, which has a story connected to the first room. It was another fun and challenging room, and they introduced some really interesting aspects to the puzzles. Looking forward to when they open their third room!

Tina greeted me at the door and when I told her I overpaid she did not offer to do anything. Then, after about 5 minutes in the room she pulled my daughter and her friends out because she overbooked the room. Her response: "I made a mistake, what do you want me to do about it". How about make it right? My daughter and her friends were very polite about it and moved as she demanded. The room they were put in was not prepared and they were constantly interrupted so the room could be fixed.

The design of the room, Pierson's Mansion is the one we chose, was full of intelligent clues and hidden meanings. Alone, I would have taken 5 hours to escape. Together we were so close to finishing on time. We would have if we listened to any of the clues offered. You get six. But of course, we thought we could succeed without them. It meant our ultimate demise. It wasn't easy but with ten brains we almost did it! I cannot recommend this activity and location enough. Our host Matt was polite and helpful. The girl that greeted us couldn't be bothered and the guy checking us out came into the room 8 mins after time expired and chastised us for still being there. Well, you didn't come get us so we just stayed. Then he accused us of taking a physical clue item when he just didn't look hard enough inside the cabinet. Now onto the escape room itself. It's a great theme and the decor was good. But it's clear the room has been around for awhile because everything is old and not everything worked seamlessly. Many of the puzzles involved pushing buttons that have been slammed on over and over again through repeated use. They failed to register so we had issues releasing the clue even though we were playing the game properly. Two of the games were like this which ate up so much time. They give unlimited clues which is great but their system sucked. They had no idea where we were in the escaping process and kept giving us clues we already solved. They can't hear us (or maybe they pretended not to) so it was one way communication. We would wave at the camera and it would take several minutes for someone to type in a clue. Again, so much wasted time. Overall, I would not recommend this place. There has to be better escape rooms in New Jersey right?

Of course failure in this instance is an accepted result for fun. Our host David, was great in setting up the event and moderating our experience. Our group was setup with the room was closely matched the experience in our group. The tasks involved might have been a little much for the three person group I was in, I'd say a group of four to six is probably best for escaping without help and on time. David informed us of new rooms in progress, including an adult themed crime scene room in the works. There is also a hatchet throwing setup available which I didn't partake in. The costs are fair for the rooms they have. I'd surely be up for another escape (or failure) soon.

I was NOT impressed by the size of the room. But after figuring out how to open a door that did not lead outside like I thought it would, I took back every bad thing I said about the size of the room. The second time we did Museum Heist. This was harder than the Cabin in my opinion, but it's all subjective. I also recommend 4-5 players, not the 10 you can max out with. Eric, our game master, gave them a good introduction and started the room. The flow was different than many rooms I've been in. Most rooms have a few quick wins so you get your momentum going. This room was challenging from the start. No matter, we used a couple of hints and moved through the room pretty well. There were definitely times that we felt completely stuck and then all of a sudden two or three things clicked at once. I'd go back to try their other rooms. I think we may have a new Black Friday family tradition for next year. Oh, the first puzzle? Recognizing that the front door isn't locked, just really hard to open! :)
