Enter the escape room, filled with puzzles and mysteries for you to solve!
Mark V.

One of the funnest nights I can remember - 60 minutes to escape a room by solving puzzle after puzzle from the clues within! What a great and different way to have fun! Spend an hour or less than usual at dinner/the bar/or a nightclub - DO THIS - and then go to your usual places! Talk about "changing things up!" First let's address the myths: if you are claustrophobic or afraid of being locked in a room, throw those fears away! For one thing you can always leave the room if you have to through the door that you entered. Secondly if you are claustrophobic, the rooms are not small, they are large enough for a dozen people with extra space. Plus as I said you could always leave if you had too. So just forget those for fears. Now some important information: they will try to book 12 people per session, so best thing is to get a large group of your own friends, and if possible 12 people. Otherwise you will be paired with strangers, in my case I had great people join my group. But I'm sure there are other stories. Of course if you have an open mind and like to have fun it won't matter anyway. Another thing, some of the rooms are easy, some are medium, and some are very hard. Make sure you sign up for a room that matches your expectations (and skills)! I did the Wizard room with four of my friends and four strangers. What a totally awesome escape room! I couldn't believe the attention to detail and the number of props and items in these rooms. Much more elaborate than I would've thought. Obviously I'm not going to tell you anything about my adventure, but you will be pleasantly surprised with the design of these rooms! There's plenty to do for everyone, if you're smart everyone will spread out and look for clues and report to the group if they find anything of use. I was surprised how excited the group would get when we would solved a piece of the puzzle! I mean this is fun with a capital "F." Really!! Your group is not completely alone. A game master watches over you through hidden cameras. They'll give you a clue if you're completely off track, but they're not going to solve it for you. The room I was in only had a 35% chance of success! And yes we did beat it with nine minutes to spare! We saw lots of groups come out still laughing during their group picture even though they didn't escape. It's just as much fun either way! I did not include any pictures from within the escape room as we were kindly asked not to take any photos. So the only way to see what's inside is to go there! Highly recommended for a different, amazingly fun experience! I would recommend saving the drinking until after you leave the escape room. You might want to use your mind here. After you're done... then go have your drink(s)!!

Beautiful escape room options, great service! I can tell you that we picked one of hardest room to solve but we were fully engaged and had so much so fun. I would definitely go again to this place if I go I would ask our guest master Andrew. He was amazing! Next time I'll try the train escape room for sure!

Fun fun fun! This is my 7th room escape and I will definitely give them a thumbs up with their clues!!! LOOK FOR SPECIALS ON GROUPON!! First off.....place looks like a regular white house and there's a parking lot in the back....entrance in the front. WHAT TO EXPECT: Choose a room and date ..we did SECRET AGENTS Get there 15 min early to sign a waiver on an IPAD Listen to the rules There's a board with best times for the day A game master is assigned to your group so if you feel stuck, pay attention to the TV and they may assist you. Lots of combination locks to open and clever clues. I really enjoyed it. It was the 6 of us and I never felt we were cramped in the room. If you love puzzles, riddles, competition.....give it an try! Tons of fun! Its awesome with a group of friends! Very friendly service! Cool clues and hidden objects. Would love to come back to do another room!!!

We visited the Amazing Escape Room of Freehold and it was awesome beyond expectations. I've been to an escape room once before and my husband has been to three. My husband and I definitely agree that this Freehold Escape Room was very well done and organized. Your group will be assigned to one of six rooms that were offered by the business. Our room was called "The Wizard". You get a run down of rules, what to know and safety tips before you get started. The staff there were friendly and helpful throughout the process. The room was so interesting and fun and we employed a lot of team work to escape! Our group escaped with six minutes left! After you exit you come back towards the lobby to take a group photo with a choice of a variety of props! We loved it and couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was!

At least I took responsibility... Sheesh!

How many people in a room?

It depends on which room you pick! Wild West and Apartment each hold up to 8 people. Jungle, Wizard, Magician, and Time Paradox each hold up to 10 people. We can accommodate a couple extra people in each room, but to do that you'll have to call and…

We were simply told that we could not throw the larger items, only the cups, and then left to figure everything else out on our own. To make matters worse, we paid extra for the "360 video experience," only to find out it was nothing more than our own phone being placed on their device -- something that was never properly explained beforehand. Charging customers extra for that is extremely misleading. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of care and professionalism from the two staff members working. After sitting around for an extended period with no communication, we literally had to go out and ask whether our session was even over. That level of disinterest and poor customer service was obvious the entire time. My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and instead we left frustrated and disappointed. Spending nearly $300 for this level of service was a complete waste of money. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

I'd been curious about rage rooms for a while, and after stumbling upon The Ragery while walking my…read moredog, I finally decided to check it out with a friend. We went for the $200 room, which came with one large item, one medium, one small, and a variety of plates and cups to smash. The process starts with signing waivers, storing your stuff in a locker, and suiting up with a helmet (with a face guard), gloves, and a thin jumpsuit. They also give you a wireless speaker so you can blast your own music while you rage which adds a fun personal touch. Inside the room, the rules are pretty straightforward: don't break the walls, don't hit each other, and keep communicating. You get a choice of "weapons" including bats, pipes, crowbars, a skateboard, and hammers. For about 30 minutes, we were on our own with plenty of room to let off steam and smash things to our hearts' content. Was it fun? Absolutely. Smashing stuff is as therapeutic as you'd hope. Was it worth $200? That's a tougher call. It felt a bit steep for what you get, but the experience did match what was advertised. I imagine you could find similar rooms for less money outside of Manhattan, but this is New York; just about everything is pricier here, even breaking stuff. Overall, I had a blast, but if you're on a budget, keep in mind that the cost is definitely part of the thrill in this city.

Hot Sand - Pumpkin Season FTW!

Bottom line: Hot Sand is a unique glass art shop and interactive experience in Asbury Park…read more Beautiful glass items on display and for sale as well as opportunities to interact with the artists there (see their website) to make a unique glass object as a result. I dig it. The Deets: When I went to visit my parents on the recent Easter holiday, I saw the glass eggs I had given them in the past and it reminded me of my visits to Hot Sand on Cookman Ave in Asbury Park where they were purchased. I cannot believe I didn't come on Yelp and show some love but fixing that now. Hot Sand is a shop that is more like a showcase or gallery for some of the amazing glass blown/sculpted items they create and sell. Best thing I can recommend is to look at the pics here on Yelp as well as their own website to get a feel for what they offer. Speaking of offerings, Hot Sand also has interactive opportunities to help create your own glass blown/sculpted items with their artists in the workshop area in the back (check out their website for details/FAQ). Their website states the "immersive, exciting hot glass experiences are one-of-a-kind" and I agreed with what I saw on my visits there. Beautiful glass art made and sold as well as interactive opportunities with the staff does make Hot Sand a unique experience that I recommend visiting when in Asbury Park.

Shortly thereafter, my wife and I signed up for the Fundamentals cooking course at The Farm Cooking School - a six class series covering everything from knife skills to roasting, poaching and braising. What we experienced was far better than we expected. These are hands on classes, where we learned about the ingredients, how to utilize them and why they worked in each dish we prepared. At the end of each class, we all sit down and enjoy a delicious meal that by itself would likely cost as much as the class if we bought it at a local restaurant. What a bargain! Since that first series, I've taken over 30 other classes, and continue to take classes every week. I've made French sauces, Mexican moles, Italian pastas, Indian curries, pies, breads, and just about everything else you've seen on a plate. The variety and quality of classes and the food we've eaten has been amazing. Through these classes and the down-to-earth teaching styles of Ian and Shelley, I've learned that it's possible for amateurs like me to prepare meals that taste as good or better than those I get in restaurants.
