We made a reservation to golf with my family for 5:50pm on a Friday night. When we arrived it was very unorganized and the line for our course was at least 40 people long. It was clear the establishment was understaffed as they only had one person working at each course checking people in and troubleshooting issues for players. As we were waiting in line to check-in, I observed a staff person move golf clubs from the "used" area, where players put their clubs after playing back, to where new players pick them up. I asked, should we wipe down the clubs before using them or does someone here do that for us. In a rude response he told me they don't clean them and to just grab a club. At that point we decided to leave as we had been standing in line for at least 15 mins with no movement. We went to the host stand and asked for a refund which we were told we have to email customer service to request a refund. As we were explaining why we were frustrated with our experience the other woman at the host stand just rolled her eyes at us. We won't be returning given this experience. Additionally the company should consider conducting customer service training with all of their staff so others don't have the same experience as we did. read more

Too crowded. Rude disengaged ignoring staff. Service didn't care. Took one person's good order and walked away with out taking my food order. Never came back so I never ate. Waited for our table that we reserved ahead of time. Had to check in with the table multiple times and was told 2 min wait over and over. Im still sitting here now, my wife received her meal and I never got asked what I wanted to order or eat. Im to the point of being ignored so ill starve and eat else where. read more

My husband and I wanted a casual date night spot on 12/23/21, so I set a tee time for 6 pm. At the same time, there was an emergency situation and the mall went into lockdown. I just want to say that the staff at Puttshack handled the situation extremely professionally, not inciting panic, and allowed us to eat and drink and play mini golf until we were allowed to safely go home. They were amazing and should all be commended for their hard work and professionalism in the face of an emergency! Plus the food and drinks were good too! read more

My husband and I had planned visiting Puttshack for a while and are so glad we finally made it out. We arrived early for our reservation so we grabbed a seat at the bar and tried a few cocktails that were delicious. The bartenders were super friendly and the drinks were great. As it got closer to our reservation time, we went and checked in at the kiosk and were greeted by Dave who directed where to go next as it was our first time. Dave continued to check on us during our round and when we got to the last hole we realized we needed a rematch. We ended up booking a second round because of Dave and will definitely be back. Great concept, however it seemed to be overbooked. Ball machine was not working and the line was out the door. 2 different times our balls stopped working, and the back up was crazy from it. Hugely overrated and the service is awful. Although the courses are cool, the putting holes are so close together that there's hardly any room to stand, and people are practically on top of each other golfing/waiting between courses for the group in front of them to finish. The staff is unhelpful in directing you where to go and how things work, and the staff for the restaurant portion is even worse. No one knew who our waiter was, and we waited 30 minutes after sitting down just for water and silverware. Plus they messed up our order and brought the wrong items, then continued to disappear for long periods of time. I wish I could say the poor service was due to the fact that they were short staffed, but there were SO many people standing around and talking to each other, meanwhile customers standing around looking confused. We had a group of 7 adults with a golf reservation at 6p and a table reservation for 7pm. We went on a Sat and when we arrived it was really busy. The golf course was congested and if you had an issue with a hole it was hard to find someone to help. There were a lot of families there at that time. Overall the course was fun and moved quickly but it seemed to get less busy after 7:00. We finished golfing at 6:55 and went to check in with the hostess for our table. They said it would be a few minutes while they waited for a table to open. Although we had a 7:00 reservation we understood it may be a few minute wait. We ordered a drink at the bar. Drinks were good but on the expensive side. However this is where everything went downhill. After waiting about 15 mins we asked how they would notify us when our table was ready. There is not a buzzer or text notification. They said they would see us. Meanwhile they were seating other tables and appeared to not be trying to figure out how to seat us for our reservation. No one came up to us and gave us a status update. After 40 minutes of waiting and the staff making no accommodations to seat us or even apologize for the wait we just left. I don't even think they noticed. So long story short your reservation means absolutely nothing. We wouldn't go back. The golf is not compelling enough to deal with the lack of organization. read more

I decided to celebrate my birthday with a few of my friends at this location. I saw all the advertisement on Instagram and Facebook and decided to book a game. Initially the night was going well. We was asked to show our ID before going upstairs. You couldn't be in the location unless you was 21. We had drinks at the bar (No problem) & (Not asked for our IDs). We decided to move to a table for food before our game. We were seated then our waitress came, took our order then singled out one of my friends for his ID. Literally only asked him!!! Unfortunately, he only had a picture of his ID. The waitress makes a big scene about his ID by getting Not One but Two managers!! We told them your Security guard allowed us to enter with that form of ID with no problems. We had already been there for 20 minutes and had drinks. The manager went back and forth stating "He was the Security Guards Manager and basically my friend had to leave". Instead of taking ownership for your security guard mistake and continuing to allow my friend to stay... The manager stood near our table until my friend left! Not only did We drive all the way there from the south suburbs! They would not offer us a refund for his game that he already paid for! Not once did we see THAT Waiter or any Waiter CARD anyone sittings at the tables or at the BAR! We were one Black group, singled out and mistreated! Two more of my friends arrived shortly after and the D*mn waiter didn't card them! But made my other friend leave the group and take a Uber spending almost $50 to get back home. They wouldn't refund him his money, so we was forced to stay to avoid wasting our money because we already paid for our games. Besides that the staff wasn't following covid guidelines with face mask or reinforcing everyone else walking around freely. There was no tissue in the rest room & overall I do not recommend going here! This will be the and last!! Planned a night out with friends with a party of 6. 2 of the 6 people were unable to make it but we thought we would ask if there is anything Puttshack can do. We were understanding that there was nothing they could do for the 2 people who didn't show up as it was past the 12 hour window to modify a reservation. The manager who went by "Papa Joe" gave us 2 free game play coupons. We asked if it was possible to play a second round after our first 9 holes and we were told it would be impossible due to it being a Saturday night. After finishing our first game of 9 holes, we found it it was possible to play another game by using one of their kiosks that is used for checking in and checking available times. Because we were originally told we were not able to play, we had no other option but to choose a much later time for our second round. Once again, we were still understanding and proceeded to book another game at that later time on the kiosk. When trying to use the coupon codes, they would not work so we brought this to the attention of "Papa Joe" who originally gave us the coupons. This is where frustration and the disrespect by management begins. "Papa Joe" told us that the coupons would not work for that night and could not give us an answer as to why they would not work. We were given every excuse under the sun for why WE were doing things incorrectly and were given absolutely no assistance. "Papa Joe" has now risen his voice and has now ripped the coupon IN MY FACE. It was not until I lost my patience and had to tell "Papa Joe" the level of disrespect he has shown me and my party before absolutely any assistance was given. "Papa Joe" muttered something under his breath before rudely handing us off to another one of your team members and telling her to "handle it." Team member Gianna and D'Andrea felt so bad for the way we were treated that they were able to help us get a more reasonable time for round 2. To add, it was not until we got home and found the one coupon that "Papa Joe" didn't rip up has been expired for 5 months. Which is why it wasn't working in the first place. I can't help but feel that "Papa Joe" knew this and was using these coupons as a way to "Shut up and move on." This would also explain why he couldn't give us a reason for why the coupons wouldn't work. Prior to this experience, we have genuinely enjoyed our experience at Puttshack and unfortunately after this experience I am not sure we will ever return again after the level of disrespect in a public business setting. read more

First time here i took my 12 y/o son for a mother/son fun evening during the week. I was pretty crowded for a weekday at 430 pm so I couldn't even imagine the crowd on the weekend. Parking in the mall lot adequate but crowded as usual. Check in when u first walk in then head upstairs. Interior pretty cool. Upstairs we were direction to our station and given brief instruction on the game. Of course mini golf I've done a zillion times but this was a little confusing at first on moving on besides the follow the arrows. At the first hole i kept trying to hit it in like 3 times from the start which was not accurate. The attendance was busy but tried to be as helpful as possible. We got it and moved right along. If it's not crowded the game can go pretty quick like 20 mins but can be longer with larger groups. We sat down and ate Ryan was the server he was attentive when needed. The very berry mule, Yuck I'm not sure but it was not tasty and I've had many mules. The Chicago tailpipes were delicious and my son liked his hatch chile burger and garlic fries. Food was pretty good i must say. I would definitely go back to try other food and the tailpipes again. Overall nice pic to hang with friends, family or date night! read more

Avoid at all costs. No signage, outside doors are mysteriously inoperable. Coat check desk attendant wouldn't even look at us. Walked upstairs to a gaggle of highschoolers at the upstairs desk which seems to exist for no reason at all and they could not have cared less about showing us where to go or what to do. We wandered around trying to help ourselves but it's pretty terrible. Every single hole had a table completely filled with dirty barware. It was honestly disgusting and minors were around random leftover alcohol. No one offered us any service. We were stuck behind a group of teenagers that were messing around, whatever, no big deal. Then they started to complain that they didn't finish a hole and then got stuck in-between holes? I was over them by that point and told them to stop acting like 5 year olds. You can putt any hole in any order because the balls are recognized at the hole. It's not our fault that they weren't staying together, the screens switched to our names so there would've been no way for us to know they hadn't finished. Many groups were large and there's not enough room for that many people. Then when the groups are backing up it takes forever waiting for the next hole. I saw someone else post about a scam second game booking and I think that happened to us, too. No board had our information for a second game. Luckily, the workers didn't care and they put us in for another round. Similar issues with large groups. I'm glad we didn't spend any additional money in this venue. I will never go back. read more

Overall had a good experience here. Went on a Saturday night, booked it the full two weeks in advance because the slots fill up quick! Booked two people for two games. I think the price per game is reasonable. The cocktails were good, service was quick for the number of people there. Did not have food so I can't comment on that. If you are covid cautious, I would not recommend going here at a peak time. Masks are not enforced and you can be in close quarters while waiting in line on the course. I was disappointed in one main aspect - we were not able to select which courses we wanted to do. The courses are assigned to you. There are four courses here and we got two courses that had almost identical holes! There about four holes in common between the two courses and I would have loved to do one of the other courses with different holes. Also for some reason the courses we were on were extremely crowded while the other two did not seem nearly as crowded. Not sure what is going on with the booking here, but it would be great if you could pick your own courses at the time of reservation. Also for your knowledge, if you book two games it will space the reservations out about an hour and twenty minutes. But they let us start the second game when we wanted so we didn't have to wait the full time in between. I'm not sure what we would have done if we had to wait because there wasn't anything else to do other than stand and wait, which there wasn't much room to stand anyways other than at the bar. Great experience but don't know if I will be back because I can't guarantee I will get a chance at doing the other courses! Also, on the trivia hole, my ball did not register and so I didn't get the bonus points for getting it right and my boyfriend doesn't think I got it right even though I know I did and there is no way to prove it :( read more

Lively fun atmosphere. Cool concept in the games (connect 4, beer pong, Tetris) and technology (it knows your call and keeps score). Unfortunately, the scoring must not be accurate since it said I got two holes in one, but I didn't get any. It was also way too short a game for the price. Holes are shorter than traditional mini golf (usually took 2-3 strokes per hole) and it's only 9 holes. Group of four took less than 30 minutes to go through. read more

Finally came to Puttshack to see what all the hype was about. I will definitely be back! While we were there we met Dave who made the entire experience 10x better. He helped with any problems we had with the golf balls and offered free dessert when one of our golf balls died. He also let us break our tie for free by letting us do a shoot off. I was so excited to visit this place the past few weeks. I decided to wait until the holidays were over and visit during the week. I made a reservation for Monday afternoon at 4pm. When I walked in the place was busy there were people everywhere. The hostess had her mask pulled down and continued to help guests to their tables. Patrons were walking around unmasked. When I made my way over to the putting area there was no social distancing and only about 10% of people were wearing masks. We asked the attendant to cancel our reservation and he told us to speak to the manager. We went over to the manager and informed him that we do not feel safe golfing right now due to the rising Omicron variant and the lack of safety procedures being followed. We wanted to do an activity and after reviewing Puttshack's committment to safety online and seeing the signs posted on the doors, we decided to come out. He stated that they could not enforce the mask wearing in the building since they serve food and liquor. Mind you, I only saw one person with a drink golfing but all the other people golfing maskless had no drinks in their hands. He said that he could not give me a refund but he gave us two free game cards. I left so disappointed. read more

I had a lot of fun here. It's definitely the most unique mini golf I've ever played! Drink prices were exactly what I expected and the bartender was very kind. I went on a Thursday around 8pm and it was pretty busy, but I was still able to play right away. My only issue is that it's only 9 holes so the game goes by pretty quick and I think it's a little overpriced at $14 per game per person. Still, I can see myself coming back. read more

We had alot of fun golfing. It was a cool concept. After we golfed we went to the bar to have lunch. We asked the bartender for a menu, after 15 minutes still no menu. We finally saw what appeared to be a manager behind the bar and asked her for a menu. She gave us a menu. We decided what to order but nobody came back to us to take our order. The guy working behind the bar seemed frustrated and said he was the only one working the bar. Not smart during a Friday lunch crowd. We went for our fist time over the Christmas break. The golf was fun and the food was good, however, they charged us $27.50 for one of our drinks. We asked why and they said, "that's the price". The games sections need to be better monitored by staff, as kids were running around from hole to hole cutting in front of people and just running all over the courses verse just playing there round and being done, staff should be monitoring that as it is a terrible customer experience. Went to another course within the bar and grown adults were just cutting in front of others hoping course to course verse following the holes as you should. Again if the courses were better monitored by staff it could be a better more structured experience. Instead you have people cutting holes, limited staff to wait within the courses, and kids running around. I would not recommend for a date night at all and that the courses should be adult only or parent supervision required. read more

Made reservations days in advance, for two games of golf and dinner reservations as well, the first game went smooth. But the second game? Beyond packed waiting in line for one hole for over 30 minutes on each hole... for a second of putting... decided to cut the 2nd game short and just sit down for our dinner. We got sat at 11:10 pm, waiter took about 10 minutes to come up and greet us and offer us beverages and when asked for a minute to look at the menu, he completely blew us off and never came back to take the order. Also.. was watching our "waiter" standing around with a bunch of other workers basically waiting for us to leave just so they didn't have to put our order in. Will not being spending another penny in this establishment.. hope this review helps some out.. would not want anyone else to have the same experience as we did. read more

They do not enforce masking while playing mini golf. I overheard a someone saying that they do not have a sense of smell. She was not masked. I complained and was told that they do not enforce masking. The employees were also not wearing masks over their noses and mouths. We had booked 15 friends for a Saturday 2 weeks in advance for my birthday. 4 days later we get an email saying the day had been already booked by a private event and our reservations would be canceled. They did refund our money but wouldn't even acknowledge that I asked for a free game as compensation for this mishap on their part. If you get an email from Kelsey after booking odds are you got bumped for a larger party as well. This is specifically for the Oakbrook (chicago) location. read more

What a mistake! They fit right into today's world of business.....NO Personal contact if they can avoid it at all costs....and when the situation calls for contact, make sure its with someone who has no idea what they're talking about. Made reservations for an adult B'day party well in advance and planned for cocktails and dinner for 10. I arrived early so I could let them know 2 people were not going to make it and asked how I could get a refund. I was told by the "greeters" it wasn't policy to give refunds but they would have someone speak to me. After playing the game, I really couldn't understand why they wouldn't offer a refund because by cancelling 2 of the 10 people.....it didn't affect anything except Putt shack not being able to keep the money. Poor management decision. Now the best part of the night was actually playing the game...creative, fun and I noticed it took no personal assistance from any human being. Before we started to play and when I registered I made a reservation for dinner. They told me before we started the game they would have a table ready when we finished....they were busy, but not slammed or as busy as they said they normally were. There were many empty tables...many. I went to the desk and was told there would be a 30 minute wait for a table.....I looked around and saw tables empty, but needing to be bused and cleaned. I mentioned it to the two girls at the desk and they said there wasn't anyone to handle it. I looked around and pointed out 5 people in uniforms who were standing around doing nothing . At this point, not wanting to disappoint my guests, I stood firm and one of the girls at the desk begrudgingly went over and started to clean a table. We sat down and we're immediately approached by our waiter, who I will state now....did everything in his power to satisfy us, without any help from anyone. He took drink orders and appetitzer orders. He arrived with some appetizers before the cocktails.....but when he brought the cocktails, on a large tray, it collapsed and fell all over.....glass breaking, drinks all over...in fact one guest got drenched from the cocktails spilled. I actually felt bad for the server...he had truly tried very hard, but was in need of training and busboy assistance. I calmed him down and told him he was fine...lets just get it cleaned up. I have been in the business and know what needs to be done in these cases...when the crashing and breaking of glass is heard....its a "all hands on deck" approach.....NO ONE CAME. The server went and got a bucket and mop and towels for the person who got wet and began to clean it up. That shouldn't have been his job...he should have had back-up. I then asked for a manager and it took about 10 minutes for her to show up. I's been my experience when one of these unfortunate situations happens a manager is Johnny on the spot. She came to the table and said "what's the problem." A friend of mine who owns over 20 restaurants in Chicago told her what happened.....she apologized and offered not other accommodations. He finally looked at her and said, "don't you think you should pay this mans cleaning bill?" She took his information and disappeared. At that point I was approached by a young man who was extremely polite and offered me two FREE games for the 2 people who didn't show up...I declined his offer. This is obviously about the work as it exists today....Little or no physical interaction with the client if possible...from the bar prior to playing, where the bartenders didn't not know what liquors they had when asked ....to the people greeting who wanted you to go over to the kiosk and register. The final blow came when our server came to me and told me HE was going to pay for the 3-4 deserts we ordered. I said I wouldn't hear of and for him to put it on the bill. I spent $120.00 on Golf for 8 people.....$110.30 at the bar to your prior to playing plus a $20.00 tip for really bad service.....$233.27 for dinner plus a $70.00 tip for the server, which he definitely deserved. Thats over $500.00 and to be treated the way we were treated does n to speak for a company who should be focused on a great Customer Experience...from Golf to Cocktails and Food Service. I tried to reach out to your company 4 times since the date and left messages...got no response. Finally yesterday I called and asked for the General Manager, was told to hold on....did so for 10 minutes and was summarily hung up on. Called back and got the same girl, who was extremely rude.....I ended up talking with a girl in the Sales Department named Hailey....she was very helpful and listened to my issues and told me I would hear from an Operations person. We shall see. I understand this is a new venture...but as with any restaurant venue...it takes training and practice...soft openings with loads of people. If these people dont get it together......you will not see many more.... read more

My family and I went to this business to try it out and have a nice time, unfortunately that did not happen. Our party was originally for 8 but other guests joined us and our server was not very accommodating to us, I believe her name was Blossom. But at one point she even rolled her eyes when I requested something not sure why the bad attitude but realistically this business is quite new and the service should not be that horrible. we made reservations online a couple days earlier to celebrate a birthday. we thought that if we made reservations it would be like any other place where we wouldn't have to wait in like, we were wrong. we waited an hour and a half to play! once we got up to the ball dispenser it broke down so we waited longer for them to figure it out. once we got on the course the balls wouldnt connect to the tv and we constantly had problems, and we weren't the only ones. no one came up to help us so we just gave up and tried to play without points. definitely not coming back. as something that's somewhat new they should have everything all figured out by now to operate everything smoothly. read more
