Like I would've loved to order fried okra as a side and get a smaller portion that having to order the whole app just to have okra as a side. My only hang up was indeed not having more variety for sides, especially when they already have the item on their menu. Other than that, the food was fantastic, service was great, and it was a great experience. I did see some non-fried options, but YOLO. Definitely recommend the grits. Okra was perfectly cooked. I had the clam strips and they were delicious. Gator bites were tasty as well. Highly recommend everything I had and can't wait to explore more. Service was fast and very friendly. Checked in often and refilled consistently. Plenty of parking out front and easy to spot off 98. I've driven by it many times, so it was great to finally come in and try it.

Found this restaurant as a convenient stop enroute. We entered right when they opened and there were already a few tables occupied. We were greeted by friendly Madison, our server, who could not have been cuter or nicer. The meal started out with warm biscuits and cinnamon butter. So good you could just eat these. We each chose a different fish dish from their lunch menu. Since they are named "catfish" country, I decided to get that. My husband ordered the cod. We chose the fish to be fried -- and they were lightly battered pieces and perfectly cooked. Each basket came with two sides. I got green beans and a baked potato. He had collards and cheesy grits. We both loved our fish choices. The only thing that I didn't care for were the green beans -- more like pole beans and peppery southern style (as in mushy). He thought his collards and grits were wonderful. I think we've found a new favorite place to stop mid-state.

The ordering system is a little different--you mark your choices right on the menu and turn it in at the front desk, so there isn't really a traditional waitress. Someone does bring your food and checks on you during the meal. The setting is what really makes this place special. It's right on a small pond, and while we ate we saw an alligator, a big turtle, and several fish! Such a fun Florida experience. There are also a couple of neat gift shops attached, plus an antique store that unfortunately wasn't open today. We'll have to come back! Overall, a fun, casual place with good food and a really unique atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

I can honestly say this place transported me to any big city in America. Classy, Sexy, Cool is how I would describe Oyster Bar. This is an upscale experience in a place you'd never expect. There is premium seafood, sushi, caviar. Portions are decent and Oyster at $25 a dozen is not bad. There is wine, beer including craft beer and they have expresso. They even had a rare cider on draft from Keel Farms. I can honestly say I was impressed. Inside is intimate, dark and sultry, but they also have an outside seating area. It's Florida, so outside is not an option when it is hot, or muggy, or dark. Still though I think I am in love with the experience here. Oyster Bar is first date vibes if you want to impress and set the stage for something more. It is also that romantic evening with that special someone. New Orleans vibes throughout. They are even live streaming from the French Quater on two of the TVs. Enjoyed the oysters: half a dozen raw, Kani salad and Oysters Rockefeller. They have crudos, caviar and a decent selection of sushi, along with tartar and some other savory options. The Oyster Rockefeller came slow, but everything else was 9n point and with the ambiance, decor and atmosphere we hardly noticed the delay. This is one place I feel I need to frequent, just because.
