I was really excited to visit this bar-turned-18 hole mini golf course. I know this was opening…read moreweek, but the kinks that still need to be worked out made for an unpleasant experience. Upon arriving, the door person gave vague directions on where to get balls and incorrectly told my party to start on the lower level. After talking with another attendant, after 5 minutes of checking the reservation, he cleared up that directions should have been given to start upstairs, instead. The place is best described as a cluster. Barely enough room to walk, trash at every golf hole, and tons of onlookers throughout the course who weren't playing but added to the crowdedness. Don't go here if you're claustrophobic. The holes are cute and innovative, but it's impossible to enjoy the game play because there is no comfortable pace. The people behind you start putting while you're still on the hole. When you're finished and waiting, there's barely any room to stand. It was so disappointing that on the first week, two holes were broken and down for maintenance, including a mouse trap hole that seemed fun and exciting. The breaking down of that hole caused a huge log jam that, while consistent with the massive lines throughout the rest of the course, was double the wait time. I feel like even a few extra staff members throughout the venue to help groups stay on track would be helpful. Also, bookings were so close together, that playing wasn't much fun. Half the people at the venue were just drinking and not playing. I can't imagine going here for a fun nightlife time, because it was uncomfortably crowded. From staff not knowing the organisation of the venue, to the mismanagement of bookings, to the failed maintenance of what people were paying to play on, Holey Moley turned what was a night I was looking forward to into one that left me bummed.

Being a sunny school holiday morning at this recently opened mini golf spot we were lucky to get the last parking spot, and the kids were excited to give this place a go. Also being new was a breath of fresh air for those who have navigated older, rundown mini golf spots. We were armed with our clubs and balls, and helpfully suggested to start at the 10th hole as there was less congestion. This was a good idea as we realised we were slower than many of the other groups, and that was mainly dads' fault! A great course with a couple of cool designed holes, reasonable prices, clean and tidy facilities and snacks, although only partially shaded makes this pretty warm on a hot day. Good for a couple of hours entertainment.

And yes, this is a bit corny. I guess that's why when I first came here I was on a date :p But really this place is a whole lot of kitsch fun. Great for an eccentric date, get-togethers with friends and old-fashioned family bonding. They have 3 themed courses priced at $22 for 3 courses or at the family special rates. One of the few putt putt venues available in Sydney.

This is a great place if you want to try your hand at some mini-golf or hit some balls at the…read morerange. The prices are fair ($3 club hire and $12 for 100 balls), although the price for 100 balls will be going up to $14 very soon. The owner is knowledgable and will give you free advice if you ask for it. They have a huge range of clubs for sale with prices ranging from $19 to $60+ for individual clubs as well as sets of clubs (I didn't see those prices). They also have demo models for you to try out before you buy. If you're going for the driving range, there is a huge range if clubs to try out when it comes to club hire. If you wish, you can try as many different clubs per session as you'd like, or you could bring your own. Overall, this is a great place for the seasoned player and the newbie, alike. They're undergoing renovations (at the time of writing) which will make it an even better place to slice.
