I have been taking classes at the Putnam Arts council for over a year now and have learned many techniques that has greatly improved my artwork. I was a true beginner and now feel much more confident and have taken drawing classes using charcoal, graphite, and pastels. I really enjoyed the painting class and learned a lot more about drawing and painting abstract, landscapes, and portraits. Learning all of these techniques from Jim Sparks, an accomplished artist and college level teacher has been an invaluable adventure. He works with all levels, classes are creatively interesting and very entertaining. His constructive criticism is spot on and completely helpful and provides much needed insight. Never did I feel uncomfortable, intimidated, or inferior to pick up a pencil during any of these classes. I would highly recommend this class if you have any interest in art and drawing. Even if you think you can't draw, guess again, Jim's classes will help develop you into a better artist and definitely inspire you to improve. So sign up! read more
