From the very beginning, working with Jess and her team has been such a positive experience. We truly have nothing but great things to say about them. Unfortunately, we had to put our home-buying plans on hold, but Jess continued to stay in touch with us throughout the years. There was never any pressure or feeling of being rushed--which was especially important considering it took us five years to finally buy a house! This summer, we were ready to restart the home-buying process, and Jess was there to guide us every step of the way. We found a great home, submitted our offer, and the sellers accepted it! We couldn't believe how smoothly everything came together. Jess brings an incredible amount of knowledge to the home-buying process. She not only understands the market and the buying process, but she also has a great eye for evaluating the condition of a home and pointing out things that we may not have noticed ourselves. She also provided us with several recommendations for contractors and other professionals throughout the process, and we wholeheartedly trusted every recommendation she made. Her knowledge, guidance, and network made us feel confident in every step of the process. If we ever decide to buy another home, Jess would be the first person we call--without hesitation. We are so grateful for everything she did for us and would highly recommend her and her team to anyone looking to buy a home. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I are extremely grateful for having met Anne several months ago as she helped us find…read moreand subsequently buy our new home this past week! Anne has all the qualities (and more) which we sought in a real estate agent; friendly, patient, knowledgeable, available and most importantly, she was an advocate for us. Anne was always willing to accommodate to our oddball schedules. My wife would often see places on weekdays during lunch hours while I would go see places that met her initial approval (isn't that how it always goes???) past 7pm or on Sundays. When we placed an offer on a house in early November, it was Anne that helped us remain firm rather than increase our counter since she believed the property was overpriced. Think about that for a second...an agent who wanted us NOT to increase an offer which would have sealed the deal. In other words, she would have made more money, spent less time and been able to move on. Once we identified the property on which we subsequently wanted to place an offer (our new home), Anne was able to navigate us through the complex world that is the negotiation. Having been living the condo life for the last 15 years, there were many (MANY) clueless points for us. Anne took the time to explain matters and recommend that we ask for certain things/items as part of our proposal. We probably earned ~$15-20k in equity from her expertise there alone. Lastly, she was a great bridge for communication with the listing agent. We probably saw 20-30 houses and everyone seemed to know Anne and had a great relationship with her. That was worth a lot of value to us as well. If it wasn't obvious above, my wife and I fully endorse Anne and recommend that you strongly consider her for your home searching needs! We couldn't have been happier and are excited to move into our house in a couple weeks!

I honestly don't know where to begin - and if you look at my other reviews you'll see "finding…read morewords" isn't usually a problem for me. I worked with Marco on the sale of my condo and couldn't be happier. I had met with several agents before finding Lucid and while I liked all of them, Lucid's commission structure interested me greatly. Marco and Gary came to see my condo and I shared with them where I wanted to be price wise. I thought my expectations were in check, however, they firmly believed that my property was worth a large 10+% more than I thought it was worth and significantly more than the other agents "swore" I could get for it. In fact, when I mentioned my ideal price to another agent (which was much less than what Marco wanted to list it for) the agent suggested I hold on to it for another "couple" years so that it would appreciate. When Marco told me what he wanted to list the property at, I was a little concerned (because it was SO HIGH) and a part of me began to question whether or not this was the "catch" on the "hourly model" with Lucid - that they price high so they can bill bill bill. This, absolutely, is not the case. Marco was right on with his pricing analysis! The property received several offers within the first four days of listing and closed within 40 days after we listed. The process was so seamless and Marco was so hands on I, honestly, felt like I was his only client for that month. During the negotiation phase with the buyers agent, I REALLY wanted to accept their first offer (it was tens of thousands more than I was willing to accept) but Marco calmed my fears and coached me through being aggressive. I was afraid, again, that his desire to stand firm was because there was no "harm" to Lucid if it didn't sell (since I was paying hourly) but - like the listing price analysis - Marco was spot on with his advice to me during the negotiation phase. I can't recommend Lucid, Gary and Marco enough! I have referred my friends to them and I will shout from the rooftops to anyone that is willing to listen to me - this brokerage is amazing!!! You will get white glove service and expert advice. Mind you, I saved over 48% in commission fees and got BETTER service and TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars more than other agents told me was possible. I couldn't be happier and Lucid Realty has acquired a client for life. If you want to save money, receive better service, get a higher price, and truly be "wow'd" look no further. I am a firm believer in that if it "seems too good to be true" there is likely a catch. I assure you, however, there is no catch! Thanks, again, Marco!

For us it was a home & not a building. Marco helped us choose a decorating scheme that attracted contemporary buyers and suggested a way to stage the living room that we couldn't have dreamed of. After the prep, he had 2 offers after 7 showings. One of them was full price and "as is". Marco helped with negotiations after the village's pre-sale inspection came back with requirements that would be found in new construction and were not common when the home was built in 1950. The house was listed after Labor Day and closed at the end of October. I recommend Marco as a realtor and would not look anywhere else.

Weichert Realtors

Weichert Realtors

It would be an understatement to say I'm not a fan of the Weichert realtor who assisted us when we…read morerented a property in Bartlett last July, stemming from this office. I don't want to name names here, particularly because I found this man to be one of the most incompetent I've ever met, so I'll refer to him here out as The Realtor. We looked at several properties online at Weichert's web site, and finally used the online "make an appointment" feature to attempt to do just that: make an appointment. Nothing happened. Apparently, when I submit all of my contact details on Weichert's web site, including my availability and telephone number, an automatic email is sent with the name and contact details of a realtor, whom I am then supposed to call. No one from Weichert ever contacted me (and I went through this process three times). I finally ended up calling The Realtor myself. So much for the online appointment system. The Realtor rather reluctantly agreed to meet with us on Saturday morning, but not before letting us know just how busy he was that day. He could squeeze us in at 9:30 a.m. and we could look at two properties in Bartlett before 10:00 a.m. when I presume he had another appointment. He asked no questions at all about what we were looking for or whether we might be interested in buying down the road...questions I suspect most good realtors do ask, as they are, after all, trying to make a sale. So we piled the kids in the car early Saturday morning and drove from the city to the suburbs. The Realtor shook my partner's hand without a smile, but barely acknowledged my presence at all. In fact, he didn't even ask for my name. And of course, no questions asked about our house hunting activities or interests. Instead, The Realtor simply unlocked the front door and ushered us into the house, where we roamed, unattended. Now I don't mind wandering the house by myself - in fact, I rather prefer it - but coupled with his disinterest and unfriendliness, I took The Realtor's decision to stand at the front door until we were ready to leave as a sign of laziness. I'll cut to the second half of this story now. We decided to rent the second house we looked at, despite the fact it was filthy and badly decorated. Our attempts to negotiate with the landlord through The Realtor were completely pointless. We discovered, much later, that he didn't even bother asking the landlord many of our questions. The Realtor assured us that the landlord would not clean the house before move-in (it was, the cleaning woman WE hired said, the dirtiest house she had ever seen), nor would he fix any broken screens or windows. The house was "as-is." Being the dopes that we are, we agreed to rent it anyway. Signing the lease with The Realtor was a complete joke. He provided us with a blank lease and told us to fill it out - so we were actually checking things we would/would not be required to do, and things the landlords would/would not be required to do. And while we were trying to ask The Realtor questions about the lease, having never actually filled one out before, he kept pressuring us for the check ($) for a background check! The irony is, when we finally sent the lease back to The Realtor, he suddenly told us that the landlord had completed one he would like us to sign. Um yes, that is actually the way it's supposed to work in the first place! Best of all, his chauvinism continued throughout the process. Although I was actually the one calling/emailing most of the time, he continued to address his responses to my partner, not me. It was as though I was "just the wife" and not an important part of the process. And once the lease was signed, The Realtor went MIA. He passed us on to some other realtor, who showed up with a set of keys and a garage door opener. I ran into The Realtor again on election day, and he didn't even recognize me. I would guess that with the current economic downturn, realtors would want to hang on to a client - especially us, as we told him we planned to buy in a year. But obviously not! And so, I won't be using Weichert again, and would encourage you to look elsewhere too.

From our initial interview, Lance showed that he understood the market, appreciated our home's position in that market, and would use all his experience and expertise to get our home sold quickly and at a good price. In all fairness, Lance did say we had a great product to sell, i.e., a completely remodeled ranch home in a desirable neighborhood, a home he described as, "warm and rich." Given that, we just don't see how anyone could have worked any harder or done more to attract buyers. Lance started by contacting his team's list of buyers who were looking. Then, he placed our home on the Private Network. We began showing immediately. By the time we got to actual listing on the MLS, we had over thirty showings and six offers. Our home was on the MLS for one day and we accepted an all-cash, no contingency offer 13% above our asking price. Of course, you may have a different experience depending on what you have to sell and where it is. Maybe our outcome was just exceptional. Regardless, we were totally pleased with our choice of Realtors and believe you will have your best shot with Lance and his team.

Margaret's organization, attention to detail, and negotiation skills far exceeded all of the others we worked with. Margaret is an expert in this area and was able to provide us with confidence, guidance, and market insight while we got our house ready to sell. She worked with us for eight months in advance of the sale in order to help us get ready. Her network is full of people who think she is the best in the business, and are willing to help out her clients. She hired a fantastic photographer to Since we were only moving across town, she was conscientious of our time restrictions and personal cost and helped us schedule back to back closings for both house transactions. When we were house shopping, she worked hard to get us in to every house we wanted to see no matter how last minute. She crawled on her hands and knees in dirty basements looking for signs of water damage for us. Above all, she is a good person who really cares about her clients.
