The top floor is more new merchandise and a large wine selection. Many of the food and new items are from local Iowa producers (manufacturers, wineries, orchards, etc.) which I love to see! The shop is clean and the displays are well done. Pricing is fair and plainly marked. I assume the woman who helped us is the owner/one of the owners. She was very helpful and social with us. #iowanice A nice little stop!

This concept was slightly different as the pasta portion was hands on. I really enjoyed that because I learned a good bit about pasta & Ive made it in the past but it was so dense. Food was delicious throughout. They also have a bar & have some seasonable cocktails so that was a nice touch. I enjoyed that it was interactive & open. The space itself is designed well & the kitchen is what I dream of having in my own home one day! Haha. They offer so many different events all with different price points.

French Macarons really intimidate me. So I thought there might have been a disconnect with the price and it not being hands on and only receiving 2 macarons. I know they are refining the experience so please give them a try. They offer many kinds of classes from savory to sweet! Give this super cool and hip joint a try!

They have a retreat center upstairs that can be rented for day or overnight stays and have a variety of classes. You can become certified to use their longarm machine and machine quilt your own quilts. But, best of all, is the customer service. Each employee is truly knowledgeable and takes the time to ensure you are truly satisfied. I've attended several "Come Create with Me" events and have spent time in the retreat center as a mother/daughter duo. Can't recommend enough!

The lady behind the counter offered us popcorn right away. We were so full from lunch we couldn't partake. They were super helpful in helping us. Located in an honored front display case location, Edward Linhardt's fine hand crafted knives beckon. Gayle wasn't about to let me spend a few hundred dollars on one of these beauties, but I did catch wind that Bladesmith did make a really cool letter opener that was carved from an old railroad tie. Edward has run his own blacksmith shop in Spirit Lake since the 1980s and in 2000 took up the art of metal engraving. After I returned home, I had a nice chat with Edward and ordered by letter opener and sent him a check for $51 (including shipping). And within about a week or so, this stunning piece arrived. It holds tight like a pistol, with nice heft and a precise slice. The picture of this work of art speaks volumes to me and maybe my Bladesmith budget for next summer.
