I hope by this point you realise that I am talking about a cat. Anyway, my baby Tom was a Molesey boy until he went of to join the great cat heaven in the sky. Nowadays, Molesey pet store rarely sell cats, but occasionally you can find some kittens here. A few weeks ago there were some gorgeous Burmese cats here, but they didn't stay long. They treat what ever animals they have here really well. There are no dogs sold here, which is a good thing - I don't like the idea of pet stores selling dogs anymore. But they do sell plenty of doggy treats for all you pet lovers out there. This is where I pick up my dogs chocolate buttons, which are so much cheaper here then they are in Tesco's. They sell a few different types of birds here, like love birds and parrots. Plenty of fish too, and some bunnies, guinea pigs and hamsters. I melt when I see anything furry or fluffy, so I try not to come in here to much, as I would probably leave with something squeaky.

Sadly, Chris is not for sale. . . He is the owners pet, but he is adorable! My favourite animals are the degus. They are wonderfuly active, and are so cute and fluffy! I would just love one! Right now they are doing a deal where when you buy a cage - hamster cage. You get a free hamster with it. I realise that the hamsters are only £10, but this really helps when it is only three days from Christmas! Anyhoo, I recommend this pet shop to anyone reading this because it is truly delightful, and they will get you a great bargain!

On a couple of occasions now, I have visited the store during my lunch-break to buy pet food. But on taking the items to the till to pay. I have been served (if you can call it that!), by a young lady who makes you feel a 'nuisance' by your mere presence! And cannot muster-up a ' hello', 'please' or 'thank-you' during the payment process! Pets at Home, may not be as cheap or local. But at least you are greeted with some politeness and actually feel like the 'CUSTOMER'.

I ordered a cat scratch tree which included a hammock and sleeping box etc. The plush material it's covered is cheap rubbish which falls apart like wet tissue paper leaving the hammock unusable and bits of fluff shedding everywhere off the rest of it. Had to remove it in case the cat swallowed bits and choked. I complained within a few days of receiving at and enclosing photos and asked for a refund which they refuse to give me. "Tracey" has emailed me saying all i'm entitled to is a replacement cover for the hammock which is pretty pointless as it's obviously in the same cheap material. She copies bits of consumer regulations in her emails and tries to twist them to make her point, saying the manufacurer is entitled to offer a repair and she's not responsible as the retailer even though I pointed out that the legislation actually means i'm entitled to a refund as I rejected the goods straight away as substandard. She also expects me to pay for return delivery (of a 9kg cat tree!!) when i've already paid for it to be delivered to me, so she can inspect it and report to the supplier. Never had such a disgraceful service from any shop online or otherwise, they've no idea about customer service and seem to think their Terms and Conditions negate Consumer Law-don't give them your money, there are plenty of other traders out there who won't mess you about, just wish i'd done a search for reviews before i ordered. She's twice said she's arranged a courier collection and then cancelled it, the last time saying i couldn't return the item as i don't have the original box. I've since complained to Consumer Direct who agreed with me that i was entitled to reject the goods under both the sale of goods act and distance selling regulations and that not having the original box made no difference at all to my rights. I sent her their advice and she now admits she was wrong about the original packaging being needed, but still won't give a refund until she's sent the material off to the supplier to inspect and report-meanwhile i'm still out of pocket when I was entitled to an immediate refund as I wasn't satisfied with the standard of the goods they delivered. It's annoying having to give them even the 1 Star the site makes you give as they don't even deserve that.

I had to pay for him to be treated despite their alleged policy of covering these costs (they were fully aware of the situation). Their current budgies are in dreadful condition, the manager lied to me and they do not care one bit about animals. I will never be returning and would never under any circumstances trust these people to look after my pets. Animals are not "stock" and the manager needs to learn this before he tortures more animals.

They raised the price in 1 month by 20% without telling me when I gave them my card details on a repeat order (from £57 to £70!) on my brand of dogfood and gave the only reason for doing this is the RRP on the Origen website had increased. (They did not, however, state that the unit cost price had increased so I would speculate that it hasn't!). I was refused a refund on the unopened bag (the difference from the original price paid) and refused a full refund. I can & will source the same food from my local Pet Store at the original price and they will deliver to my door. Dunk
