"You obviously took really great care of your car." That's what a potential buyer of my car, posted…read moreto Craigslist, said when he came to see it in person. I laughed inside and also felt a little bad. Some background: until recently, I haven't taken great care of my cars. I get the maintenance, but rarely clean them. However, when it comes time to sell it, I take it to Chris for a pre-sale detail. It goes in looking like a hobo slept there and comes out looking as good as new. The most recent detail is a particularly good example of Chris's work, and is why I'm posting this review. The car was our shuttle for 2 Corgis. To illustrate how bad the shedding is, we keep lint rollers at every door, in each car, and at work. I wish I had a before picture of the fabric. It was awful. I tried going at it with a shop vac and it didn't make a dent in the fur-carpet. When I got it back, there wasn't a single hair left. Even turning on the heat, none blew out of the vents. #mindblown Now that I'm getting nicer cars, I've gotten other services from Chris as well. He did paint correction on my Tesla, and has given me advice for what products to use to keep it looking good, and where to go for the best PPF application. The best thing about him is he's always honest. He's talked me out of using his services when they wouldn't make sense for my situation. Highly recommend Chris's services!

I want to leave a zero, but Yelp won't allow that…read more On 6/2/2014 this business transferred ownership (was purchased by a new owner, Karl Murphy , also owner of Carolina Auto Spa & Spiffy.) The previous owner Jim Petty had built a great reputation, as evidenced in many reviews that mention him by name. However he, nor anyone else from his company (he was a 1 man show) moved over with the new ownership. So these previous ratings no longer apply to the new owner. Both manta.com & bbb.org still list Jim Petty as the owner for some reason. However if you read the recommendations on manta.com, you will see 2 messages from Jim explaining all that I've just mentioned. In addition, if you call, text or email the contact info listed for Jim on manta & bbb, it is Carolina Auto Spa employees who answer, namely David. David also explained to me in person that the business was bought. Their continuing to use his website, contact info, positive reviews & failing to update their ownership info with Manta & BBB causes even diligent researchers to confuse their inferior reputation/service for Jim's great reputation/service. I recently was duped by this ploy & paid $200 for a detail that was not up to Jim's quality & reputation. I thought he was working out of/with Carolina Auto Spa, but it turns out that they are just using his reputation & website to attract business, but then swaping Carolina Auto Spa's level of service instead, which is sub-par. Please refer to Carolina Auto Spa's reviews. The workers were all very personable, but the misleading bait-and-switch practices leave a lot to be desired. They need to be clear in their ownership, packages (website vs what you actually get), honest in their ratings & actually follow through with superior attention to detail.
