The bar area is situated down stairs and the main dining area is up stairs, there is an outdoor terrace area which you pass through to the main entrance which on those rare days that the sun is out and it is not raining would be nice place to start off the night with a Belgium beer
In the foyer there is a sizable fish tank with lobsters
A quick read of the menu and my eye catches things like smoked deer and cuckoo amongst other mouth watering options
I was there with a small group so I took the smoked deer and another person tried out the cuckoo
The smoked deer was an entree, thinly sliced smoked deer with berries and salad. Quite nice, not overly smoky to take away any flavour of the deer
I had the beef fillet which was one of the best I have had in a long time. Served on a bed of veggies and again a side of frites (typical Belgium)
The cuckoo from all reports was excellent
The crime brûlée for dessert was possible the only weak point of the three courses mainly because I did not chose the ice cream with hot Belgium chocolate sauce option, thick and rich and full of chocolatly goodness.
Top this off with a French red and it was an all round lovely meal read more
