I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Razan & I showed up for my appointment with money to spend but I could tell the vibe was off immediately. She rushed me in quickly to a room, left, and sent in a different provider for a consultation. As soon as the consult was over "Ohh sorry we JUST NOW ran out of Botox" coincidentally. I know that I was basically getting services denied. I don't appreciate my time being wasted, the same way a Dr doesn't like that either. I hope they learn not to judge a book by its cover. the worse experience I ever had with med spas ! Razan Khattab was the Aestetichian ( owner ) she did the EM sculpt to my legs and arms I did 1 sesión and she BURNED my left leg !! Be aware of this place ! Do your self a favor a get better informed about the qualifications aesteticians got On top of that The EM sculpt machine was outdated it wasn't the EMS neo as they advertised So they misrepresent their services. Also I did a green peel with her and found out It wasnt the real green peel as I called the company and she wasn't certified to do that treatment ! Razan is excellent. I'm an avid walker and biker. But after having the baby left a belly pooch that I couldn't get rid of mostly where the baby hung during my pregnancy. So I tried cryotherapy. Where it's suppose to freeze the fat cells. Here is what I recommend. Bring in socks, warm clothes and your favorite fleece blanket. Mind you Razan does a wonderful job keeping you warm but if you're always freezing like me, take the extra sleep over stuff. Stay carb free for the day or very low carb and well hydrated. I've been going to Razan and Dr Dalloul for 15 years. Their medi spa is beautiful, serene and I love all their facials, pixles, and peels. Also I have done botox with Dr Dalloul. Razan knows how to care, extract and clean the skin so you leave refreshed. They always email new promotions out and I feel in comparison to other spas they are inexpensive and they get the job done. She recommends what will work with your skin or not. Schedule is always on time! And it's nice taking that time for yourself. I walked in 20 minutes early, and was not greeted by any of the 3 women in the office. I was 30 minutes into my appointment time and still in the waiting room. When I did get serviced, she immediately went into selling her expensive products and planning the next appointment. My chemical peel lasted 15 minutes, it was rushed and left me with a chemical burn that I am now treating 3 weeks later on my face and neck that I believe was caused from when she walked out of the room to handle business while the acid was still on. I had an amazing esthetician from CA that recommended me to this spa because of their Face Reality product use. So I decided to ignore the terrible reviews and go for an acne facial. Terrible decision. First, I made my appointment and got a follow-up voicemail confirming my appointment time(1pm). I showed up at 1pm and the receptionist told me, "It looks likes your appointment was moved to 1:30pm." I had somewhere to be so I told her I had proof in a voicemail that my apt. was in fact at 1. She told me to fill out the paperwork and by the time I filled it out, the esthetician would be there. She came in at 1:25 and the first thing she said to me is, "Yeah, your appointment was at 1:30." Haha how about an apology or some sort of acceptance of responsibility since I had proof you're wrong? Anyway... I've had countless acne facial/extractions. I now have very mild breakouts and just prefer being completely clear so I continue to get extractions. I have never had someone be so rough on my face. To the point where my eyes are watering from pain. Even when my acne was at its worst, I've never been in that much pain during an extraction. She was so rough with my skin and does not know what she's doing. I left there so inflamed and had SCABS on my face for 5 days! She really rubbed that sand mixture into my face and then didn't remove it entirely; the next step still rubbed into my face. I think my tech had a super bad day. Or racist, yo. It's actually a public health hazard. She didn't ask if I was wearing contacts.Or physically analyze my skin. Or even ask if I was wearing anything on my skin before she touched it. I was not super happy with the service at this place. I have gone for microderm treatments at several other spas with better service. I felt judged by the aesthetician the entire time my facial was happening. She told me I should get a different treatment than I had requested. I went with her recommendation but she then proceeded to go about doing the treatment without talking to me the whole time, or telling me what she was doing. I went to purity med spa last week. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. I felt like I was on a luxurious vacation from the minute I opened the door. When checking in I was greater by a kind soft spoken lady in a beautiful office. I was handed paper work an was sent to a calming pretty room to fill it out. Then I was sent to another serene room. This place is shady. Went there for a consultation for laser hair removal and was told that they use a diode laser. Later, after researching the brands of lasers, I emailed Razan to ask the name of the laser. She responded with one word answers in each email, but finally got a response of Alma Harmony, which after more research I found is not a diode laser. I emailed her again with this information and she says that she uses a different laser, which is a diode laser, but she doesn't know the name of it. I asked her to find out the name of the laser and she said that she could not. It's very odd and concerning to me that she doesn't know the name of the laser that she uses and makes me wonder if she is telling the truth. Needless to say, I will not be going here for my laser treatments and would not recommend it to anyone else!! read more

I am not one to leave bad reviews and complaints, but I just could not be more disappointed with a service. I purchased a Groupon for this spa in hopes to get a deep cleansing treatment, which they advertised as being either a microderm or a chemical peel. I've had both done many, many times with fabulous results, so I knew what to expect. I definitely had the classic Groupon horror-story experience, where I was treated as a one-time customer and given false information. My "appointment" was at 12:45. I always try to arrive early, especially since this was my first time at this particular spa, so I got there around 12:35. I filled out a series of papers, and was told to wait for the esthetician in the waiting area. She also gave me a packet and told me to read about their line of face products. Soon there after, the receptionist who greeted me said there was a mix-up and that she would take care of me. She led me into a well-lit room. I wasn't given a gown or anything, she just told me to climb up into the spa bed in my clothes. That was already strange, but every spa is different and I understand that. Next, she comes back and though I scheduled a microderm (since again, my intention was a deep cleaning of my pores), she said she won't do that, and recommends a chemical peel instead since that would be better for my skin. I figure she knows more than me, so I agreed. She leaves, comes back, leaves again, comes back. Two other estheticians come in and out of the room, grabbing various products while I'm awkwardly laying there. Very unprofessional. In the extensive paperwork I filled out, it asked me to list out the products I use for my skin, so I did. Once she saw I use Dermalogica, her attitude completely changed. I'm pretty sure that's when she realized I wouldn't be brainwashed into buying any products. I am not at all opposed to buying products, as a matter of fact, that was my intention. I bought a Groupon to see if this was a place I would come back to, depending on how the service was. If I liked their products, no matter the price, I would have been happy to purchase them. I did the same with Dermalogica, I loved the way the product worked on my skin, so I bought the whole line and have been using it for years. I am now looking for something new, which is why I tried this spa. In the end, she cleansed my face, applied a "peel" with a cotton ball (left that for 5 minutes), and cleansed again. This is when I asked about extractions. She said that's an additional $20. That's when I asked what this Groupon included, where she told me just a peel or a microderm. Any other time I've had a service of the sort, they first let the steam open your pores, then do a cleanse, followed by extractions, a peel or microderm if necessary, then a mask, and then finally moisturize. Usually, about an hour or so long. This woman cleansed my face, applied 2 "peels" with cotton balls for 10 minutes, did a few extractions after I practically convinced her it was ridiculous not to, then wiped it off, applied some moisturizer, and sent me on my way. She told me to meet her out in the front once I was ready to go. I come out, and she did not even get out of her chair to say goodbye. She simply said "call me if you decide to buy anything or reschedule!" I was shocked. I paid $40 to have my face washed! I could have done that at home. Can't figure out why there aren't any reviews - they do Groupons all the time. So, i bought a Groupon for 3 facial treatments. I have had 2 so far. The first treatment was okay. Too mild and didn't really do anything for my skin. The second time, I got a chemical peel. The aesthetician was better and I felt like this treatment did more for my skin. Of course, they try to sell you on their products. I find that annoying, but everyone does it now. The thing that I really didn't like about this spa is the customer service and interaction. It is really unprofessional. Scheduling was challenging. Their system went down, and then they kept calling me back. The woman on the phone was hard to understand. Then, when you get there, they bring you into an open office type area. That's fine until they bring another client back there while your discussing your treatment. I now have practically my whole body lasered and it has been the best investment I have ever made! Razaan is the best! I come here for laser tattoo removal, I went to Vamoose Tattoo Removal in Gurnee and had 5 sessions and they didn't fade my tattoo at all (if they did it was barely) so I wanted to find somewhere else, and this place came up. I've had 3 sessions and it's already faded it a lot. The price is $30 more but I don't mind paying that if it works. But my complaints are the other place used a thing to blow cold air so it was less painful and I asked for that here and she just says "I don't like doing that" which is annoying because I want it, so she puts fan which doesn't help as much. Also it's a lot more painful here so the cold air would be a lot more helpful. I just feel like they don't really listen to your concerns. Did not work! I went in for many treatments for my bikini area. After the initial 6 treatments the hair was still growing in many spots but was seeming to be less and less. Then it started to grow back again and I went in again for 2 more treatments. All spaced approx 6-8 weeks apart. They say pain free, but that it is not. The initial treatment did not hurt but then there were many visits after that it was extremely painful. Now months later the hair is coming back more and more and I am back to shaving every few days. Not only was it money wasted but time. The office itself looks very nice and clean but one day I went in and was given the robe to put on. When I put it on it was wet in the lower region with what I'm pretty sure was the gel they use for the treatments. So it was used on somebody before me and then given to me. Not only disgusting but very unsanitary. I took it right off and gave it to her and she just got me another and mumbled something I couldn't understand with her strong accent. I tried purity medi-spa yesterday for the first time. Here is a detailed overview of my entire experience: professional location, absolutely beautiful waiting area that feels more like a luxury living room than a typical waiting area. I was greeted immediately upon entering and within 10 seconds I was greeted by a second gal who had me sign in and gave me some paperwork to fill out. I turned in my paperwork and was greeted by the aesthetician within 2 minutes. I'm stating these short wait periods because they are absolutely indicative of a well run place. The treatment room was absolutely beautiful and all the equipment was high end and very current (in terms of looks, I am not a doctor). My aesthetician Lily had the most amazing glowing skin and she was extremely professional and sweet. I felt very comfortable and so much so that we had a brief conversation about a couple worries I had skin related, would you believe.... Lily was able to get the doctor into the room within 2 minutes and she was able to speak with me further. The microdermabrasion process was not painful and I'm writing this review 24 hours after the treatment. I was in and out of the spa in less than one hour, impressive! I do have one major regret, that regret is that I didn't buy a larger package on groupon. I was not sure about the place as I had never been, I will certainly return and send my friends too. After about a half hour wait I decided to talk to the receptionist who informed me that Razaan had taken a walk in right before I came in. So unprofessional - I got a little angry and told her what was the point of my taking an appointment. She went in to find Razaan who didn't even bother to apologize and proceeded to take me in for my treatment. The treatment lasted for all of 5 minutes and Razaan kept trying to sell me some creams and told me to come back for more treatments. Seriously!!. I dont plan to go back to this place ever again after being treated so unprofessionally and not even getting the service I paid for. I am not usually one to comment on another person's review, however, I have been getting chemical peels approximately every 6 weeks at Purity Medi-Spa, and I have been very pleased with the results. I too had a Groupon and feel like I got what I paid for. It was not advertised as a Classic Facial with a peel, it was just a peel. I never expected to disrobe, have a steam treatment, mask or extractions, as that would be part of a classic facial. My treatments were performed in a timely manner and I never had to wait.
