It's a…read moremodern and sleek gym, always clean, never crowded, and the perfect balance of community and private gym space (meaning, you'll see enough regulars here to become familiar, but also not so many that you have to wait for equipment). Pricing is reasonable, a bit more pricey than some of the factory gyms (Retro, Crunch, Planet Fitness), but you kind of get what you pay for here because it's more personable and less crowded. Overall I'm very happy with my membership, and the new owners have been kind and accommodating. Bonus: the backyard space offers gorgeous, breathtaking views of the mountain, and I found this area crucial during the covid months when I didn't want to be indoors.

Just drop by one of the kids class and observe their interactions. He does equally well moving thru the ages groups of the students as there are adults who join up in their 40s. They also offer Cardio classes besides karate. What I think is great is that he also has classes for special needs students, and I he goes offsite where other students resides for their lesson. Just watching their faces in a Shiai is priceless. Is a good lesson for the kids.

The large facility is two floors with plenty of cardio equipment, free weights, machines, and more. Positives: Only ~30 bucks a month and you get access to a nice and clean facility. Usually doesn't get too crowded (evenings busiest) and almost everyone I've seen wipes down their machines / equipment after use. Friendly staff and get to support local business. Any machines that break (not to common) seem to get fixed in a reasonable time. Plenty of cardio equipment located both downstairs and upstairs. Their website details all that they offer. Negatives: 90 Day notice required if / when you decide to cancel your membership. The one free 'personal training session' was more of a gym orientation where I tried out some of the machines briefly and was given a paper with suggested workouts. Free-weight room is a bit small and seems to get crowded some evenings even if there isn't too many people in there. I've been going here generally 3 - 4 times a week over the last 6 months, and overall I'm happy with the money I spend here. For me, the positives outweigh the negatives. Day to day, I get my workout done with little to no disruption.

The only thing I wish was different was more turf space to do things across it, but if u dont mind using a hardwood floor the studio room is completely empty when theres not a class so I will sometimes go in and use the space to do things like farmers carry, jumprope, lung walks etc. The front desk staff and other ppl that use it are really friendly and nice. I would say in the afternoon crowd its about 85%+ male and 10-15% female, in case that matters to u, but I havent noticed any creepy guys at all!

I HATE using those hand drying machines. The rags used to clean the machines should be replaced with pre-moistened cleansing wipes. Also, the membership locks you in for 18 months. When you want to cancel your membership, you can send an email to stop the membership if need be.

The manager went on to explain to me it's not an issue in Pennsylvania, which is fine but the gym is in New Jersey. The owner only put on his mask when I came over and didn't cover his nose. I suppose it's hard to enforce a policy and owner doesn't believe in, even if it's a state mandate. I asked if it's optional to wear a mask to which he replied no but some people have a medical condition. Which is great to know people with a medical condition impeding lung function means you're healthy enough to go to a gym where a policy is loosely enforced at best. I used to love this gym and their staff but the entire attitude is a slap in the face to every medical worker who had to deal with peak Covid, to every family who lost a love one, and anyone who tried to abide by public health and safety initiatives.
