From what I have seen and experienced they love to pull this cute trick where if you notice a charge and confront them it gets resolved relatively quickly. Then they wait, like a predator stalking its prey. And after a month or two...THEY POUNCE and you, valued customer, get wrongfully charged again, WHAT A DOOZIE. Now THIS is when it gets particularly fun for you, you silly Billy. As you proceed to get wrongful charges over the course of your subscription it gets progressively more difficult to resolve the issue, don't worry you're in luck, you get to try and resolve these issues with Michael and Ron...WOAH. Extremely helpful individuals who, if you're truly lucky, will ghost and block you for pointing out their questionable business practices. After some time you may realize your money is lost to the black abyss, otherwise known as real time fitness, but who needs their hard earned cash when you have a membership to the bestest gym in the whole wide world! Lake Hopatcong is totally no nonsense. Old school weights and equipment. A bit snug if it is a little crowded but gets the job done. No real locker room and no showers. Rockaway is the largest of the three. A bit newer equipment and more spread out. This is the location I visit the most as I go after work, never feel cramped in there. No formal locker room, but there are lockers on the main floor. There are 3 changing rooms and 1 shower room... I can't imagine that being a bit hectic for the before work crowd. Stanhope is the newest location. a bit smalller than Rockaway, but a nice layout. All newer equipment, clean, nice layout. Only been there a handful of times. This location has a formal locker room, with separate changing room and 3 shower stalls in the mens locker room. Cant speak for the womens locker room. Overall, Stanhope is a very nice spot. My only gripe, and it is with all 3 locations are the treadmills. Lake Hopatcong, can barely get them to operate. Rockaway, 1 is broken, 1 has a deck that isn't level and is broken, the rest are ok. Stanhope has the newest ones, but of the 8, 5 had slipping belts that make it dangerous to walk on, let alone try to run or jog, one is super noisy. I get it, these gyms are geared more towards lifting weights and body building, not oblivious to that. A day of maintenance on the treadmills would get 5 stars. Aside from the treadmills, I really like all 3 locations.

Talk about the extra sweat you put out when there is no AC to help cool you down during activity. This 4th of July weekend I happened to be with my brother and his wife/my sister-in-law was taking advantage of their outdoor morning Kickboxing bootcamp. She knows I love a good workout and don't shy away, even when on vacation to get one in. They had the extra space so for a small cost I was able to lock in the spot and attend as a visiting guest of hers. The young lady that instructed the class [daughter of owners] was super energetic and engaged throughout the entire workout showing and motivating all to put out what they could and more. If I lived close to this location, I would totally be making it my home gym. I could only image how great all on the inside is, but if the workouts are as good/better than the one I had outdoors, I'd be hooked for sure. It's good that no one films themselves here much. People also dress in respectful gym attire. The only annoying thing is that some customers do not put the weights and hand gear away when done. I was told that they are here from 5 PM to 8 PM but I never saw them for the six months that I went here. I had issues where other men which is like watch me as I worked out take pictures and videos of me and follow me around the small space. The first time that I reported it, it was taken seriously from the owner, but the subsequent four times were completely ignored. So I personally would not recommend this and I think management needs to definitely revisit how their text message and call service is being handled. I've met a few of the staff and I do think they are very kind and nice so I don't think they were intentionally ignoring me but at the same time I'm not gonna keep going out of my way to try and get in contact with them. It's also very small and has a small assortment of equipment. So if you're going during peak times, I don't think you'd be able to get in on the equipment that you need. It's also really not in great shape. I had this membership through my insurance we subsidize the cost, which was great, but I personally don't think the equipment both due to the upkeep and the selection really match their usual price.

Equipment: 3- The equipment at Flex is nothing special. Some of it is new and some is beat up…read more There is also not much of it. 1 Bench, 1 Incline Bench and 1 Decline Bench. That can get frustrating as it gets crowded. Other than that, there's a decent variety of other machines available. Not much cardio equipment. Also not too many plates available for barbell exercises. A very machine focused gym. Cleanliness: 4- A very organized gym. No weights lying around, provides a very comfortable environment. Size: 1- VERY small. This is definitely the biggest problem with this gym. It is two floors however both floors are very small. Most free weights are downstairs where if you lift your arms above your head you'll be going through the ceiling. All machines are practically right on top of each other. Any more than 10 people in the gym and it will seem packed. Luckily when I was there from 12:30-2, it was empty. There are two relatively big separate rooms for more private space available. It seems like it's more for an older crowd that's looking to stay active. Location: 4- Located in a nice, small shopping plaza. With a cafe, restaurant and 7 eleven right nextdoor it has everything you need for your pre and post workout needs. Price: 2- As of the point of this writing, they are having a no enrollment special going on. It seems the normal price is $40/month with no contracts. Always recommend joining a gym with no contracts however, unless you're part of an older crowd just looking to stay active this gym will not be worth the price point. Overall score: 2.8
