One of the more smaller gyms in NYC, even with 2 floors but if you time your trip we'll, you'd make for good time and use here around the morning or early afternoon on a weekday. Not sure if I can recommend coming here after school hours or even on the weekend because this place looks like it gets packed easily. Only 3 machines from what I recall were out of order so they at least make an effort on maintenance. Size aside, it's a decent gym. read more

After going here since 2018, I can say that the gym can be a hit or miss. It's not a perfect gym, but I love the community here. Majority are chill and friendly. It's a smaller Blink, so when it gets crowded, you got to try to be patient, expect long waits, or ask to work in. When it's empty, you'll breeze through. Unfortunately, machines break down a lot, and can take weeks to have it repaired. In honesty, if you have a routine, you'll have to find alternatives. I would give it a 3/5, but given that the community and staff are friendly and a vibe, they make it a 4/5. read more

Blink Woodside is constantly overcrowded, you have to wait for the stretching area a lot. There is not enough dumbbells or mats either. The machines are broken constantly broken by gym heads and it takes months to repair. To provide an example, for 2 months, the stair climbers were broken. There is no cleaning person on the weekends it seems because the bathrooms stay filthy and don't replace the wipe stations around the gym. Most recently, the hand soap dispenser stopped working and only one was working for 2 weeks. Now both are broken so they provided a mini hand soap. As you can see in the pic, it's empty. There was not multiple soap bottles set up or constant replacement. This location slacks on standards since they are the only gym in the area. I've been to other Blink gyms and haven't had as many issues. The only exception is the 74th St-Roosevelt location. Truly disappointing considering Blink raised their monthly fee this year to maintain their high quality or so they said. read more

This place has got to be a joke. This place is so freaking crowded that it is impossible to stand. It is like a clown car. I think it has around 5000 times the limit of people. And people just sit on the machines. Unless you are assertive enough to boot people off their exercise routine, it is impossible to get a place to exercise. So you walk in with a 30 min plan. And you wait 20 mins to get a spot to do whatever exercise you want. And you also have to have awkward conversations each time you need to perform a simple exercise. Their online indicator says "25 % occupancy%" which is just not true. This gym is packed beyond capacity. if you are an introvert, no way you can get any machine for performing any exercise whatsoever. People just hog the machines and never give up unless someone asks them to leave. Sad state of affairs. read more

This was my first time going to a gym in my neighborhood and I did enjoy myself haha. There was many different machines and a lot of them so you don't have to wait or wait too long for someone else to finish using it. There is also showers which I thought was amazing cause that's great to have for all the people who may want to shower or rinse off before they leave. There's two levels which is great space for everybody. There's lockers for your stuff which is great for me because I came after school and had a big backpack on my back. Overall, I will be going back soon because I had a pleasant experience. Firstly, in regards to the gym; it is overcrowded, dirty, with little to no resources if you would like to jump rope or do anything in a free space area. It is always at capacity and they are very few free machines. It is close to impossible to get a well-rounded workout due to overcrowding. Secondly, this place is a scam - beware. Depending on your membership - if you have to cancel early due to unforeseen circumstances such as moving, etc. they will charge you close to $200 to leave the gym. Blink Fitness, especially the Woodside location, is truly one of the worst gyms I've ever belonged to. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

For once, the online reviews are basically accurate. In a lot of other Blink Fitness locations, you'll see Yelp reviewers complain about how the gyms aren't up to par with fancier places like Equinox or what have you, which is just about the silliest thing ever. You're paying $20-$25 bucks per month, for unlimited access to a fairly clean gym, complete with showers, lockers and (usually) friendly staff. That's AMAZING in New York City! That being said, this specific Blink fitness location is nothing superlative, however. Nothing bad, but nothing great either. Overall I'm happy it's there, as a neighborhood gym. The vibe is fairly laid back and chill. They have a semi-decent array of the usual treadmills, machines, benches and free weights. However, the space is pretty small. Barely any room to stretch or do calisthenics (Medicine-ball area you'll find at most Blink gyms). The space to roll out foam and is really tiny, and always packed. And yes, if you want to use any barbells (and sometimes even the dumbbells), you're gonna have to wait in line for a bit. If you live in the area, it's worth coming here versus commuting 10-15 minutes just to find a slightly better option. Might as well give it a shot. The nice thing is, the hours are pretty good during the week/you can work out well into the night and pre-dawn hours. read more

Replaced my debit card during the pandemic. They kept running up the tab on me during that time, without my consent, without informing me that they reopened. Without my knowledge sent my "overdue" bill to collections and damaged my credit score over a tiny bill. Apparently this happened to many many customers-check out reddit. Here's the kicker: I found out when I went to restart my membership. They told me I had this balance that been accumulating through the worst of pandemic in the fall and winter months. I decided I would call the corporate number later and argue my case, but work out first. When I was on the floor of the gym, it was packed. Practically every machine in use. Only one station for sanitizing wipes for the entire top floor. This is typical from my experience, but my first time back, I was expecting their level of cleanliness to be very high with all the new covid variants. Not so. After a disappointing session at the gym mostly waiting around for machines to open up, I called the corporate number. After being "disconnected" several times mid call, I finally got to a supervisor, who told me there was nothing she could do. After being a customer for 6 years, I see what my loyalty gets me. A lousy gym run by two bit chiselers. Did you know the owner of Blink is a big Trump supporter btw? Guess that figures. read more

Unfortunately this is the only gym in the area, so it's busy *all the time*- doesn't matter if you're here early in the morning, which sucks if you planned to go before work because you're still waiting for any machine/barbell anyway. If you don't mind being in the gym for 2+ hours, or just plan to do calisthenics in a spot you can find, then this place is fine. Also just a heads up, I've always had problems canceling membership at Blink. Whether it's they charge you some absurd fee even though you go to cancel exactly one year after your 1-year membership, or just some other fees they throw in there. The gym itself is decent. I wanted to comment mainly on the cancellation experience, which was poorly dealt with. I knew about their cancellation policy and the pro-rating before I actually cancelled; if you don't, read into it before committing. The problem is with the extra charge at the end (I still don't know what that was for), which wasn't made clear at all, after speaking to 6 different people in person, on the phone or on chat. I think I reached all possible ways of communication regarding the charges and the cancellation policy. Though not a hefty amount, it was something not brought to my attention whatsoever so it definitely made me feel cheated. Very unpleasant experience since it took extremely long to cancel. Always packed. Very Limited machines. 2 bench presses and 3 squat racks( which people also use as a bench press) 1 smith machine. No incline bench press and people constantly taking the bar to use for something else. Yet they are always in use. You have literally wait in a line to use a machine. Filled with teenagers and tripods "influencers". Lord of the flies gym etiquette. Literally saw trainers putting their lanyards on a machines to claim while taking up 2 of the 3 squat racks. Staff overall is good but this whole Blink! brand is a terrible. Been to a half dozen or so both in queens and manhattan. All horrible. All have limited lifting machines and always a wait. If you have to travel here recommend something like Retro or NYSC. Similar prices much better gym flow/ crowd, and WAY more equipment. I live in walking distance and mostly avoid this place I would prefer to travel than to deal with this mess. Also an fyi the Jackson Heights one is even worse. read more

The gym is usually packed, and you have to wait to work out on a specific machine, but it is clean, and the equipment is pretty new. The one star is for the Blink cancellation policy. Blink makes you jump through hoops to cancel. Their customer service line lets the phone ring for 10 minutes and then sends you to voicemail. Once you do cancel, they charge you a fee even if you have a gray membership. read more

This place does not have enough equipment. You have the bench bars being hogged out by workers. Then you got 3-4 guys working out in multiple spots claiming equipment. BLUF: if you're serious about training, go early (i.e. when they open) or don't waste your time. I'm a refugee from the Big Six Fitness closure, bit the bullet because there aren't really any alternatives and I just couldn't stay motivated enough to be consistent doing body weight exercises only. I joined about 2 months ago. My usual gym-going routine was 3 days a week, but I get 2 at most nowadays because this place tends to be packed (I'm writing this after hoping to get in a workout before lunch, but left after 3 mins. realizing I'd get nothing done). The website even has a capacity tracker: if it says 50% or more, don't expect any equipment to be free when you walk in. Let's be clear, I'm not an elitest, at 40+ years old any "stats" I'd drop would include a "for my age" qualifier, but I like to think I operate at a higher standard and treat my workouts like business. I do compound lifts, superset (when possible) and keep tight breaks between sets (think 26-28 sets in 45-60 mins.). That's not most people at this gym, even during early hours: for example expect one of the only 2 bench stations to be occupied for half an hour... and no, that's not some power lifter going through their paces, but average joe taking 5 mins. between sets working their way from 135 to 185. Here's a bonus: a guy deadlifting 135 with a belt... "Fitness demographics" aside, the gym is clean, has good equipment (if not enough of it), and seems to marry a robust bit of technology with membership (though I use or require none of it). If you're casual about fitness, you'll probably be alright. However, if anything critical I said resonates with you, consider and plan carefully. read more

First the gym is tiny and ALWAYS packed...I'm lying you'll find space from 3am-6am. Lucky for you night owls. Other than that it's always about a 30 min to an hour wait for a machine and their machines are broken or short in supply to begin with. Costumer service SUCKS and the trainers are even worse. I was so glad when this gym finally opened around the corner from my old apartment. However, I had a love/hate relationship with this location. Pros: -friendly, attentive staff -AC in facility especially during Summer months -Beverage machines and snacks available. -Clean -Reasonable monthly rates/no contract Cons: -Always busy (PEAK hour vibe ALL times) -Noisy -Odd floor plan and unavailability of most machines -Mats upstairs are always crowded (knock your neighbor in the head when stretching) -Too many TVs -Headphone jacks in elliptical don't work properly -Only one water fountain, located downstairs all the way in back (so, Bring a water bottle) -Shady business practices (after cancelling my account - I was continually charged multiple times for months or sent bills saying "We could not charge your account: please update card on file" I couldn't take care of this over the phone. Had to come in and talk to a representative, after which, the problem persisted. I did that about four times until finally they stopped charging me. read more

If I had the choice I would give no stars for the pathetic service they provide after they take customers money. Firstly, I signed up cuz this is a block away and I made my room mates and my two sisters sign up too. I wanted a personal trainer so bad so I wanted to try the complimentary 30mins session and I mentioned to the gentleman to help me with one of their best. So Friday 3pm I made the appointment and 12 noon I leave work excited for my class and past 1pm the trainer texted me that she has a problem and she can't make it seriously I mean how unprofessional. Firstly it took me a month to schedule cuz the first time was cancelled and second time they said they need 24 hours to make appointment. Unfortunately it is not my problem that your business has a problem so basically I canceled all my appointments and left everything just so they would tell me oh our trainer has a problem, what a shame!! Why am I giving you money.? When I can go out there and get better service. Of course I called in and the guy straight away put me on hold without telling me and then he comes after 10-15 mins hold asking me my number telling me oh I need to find your details I mean shouldn't he ask me that in the first 5mins instead of telling me repeatedly No!! We don't have trainers after 2pm, and he put me on hold again for another 20-30mins just to tell me hey we don't have trainers after 2pm then I asked for manager and she came told me the same, I said I heard that 3 times already tell me what you can do for the customer, don't tell me what you can't, cuz I already know that!! This is an update to my prior review, Gym is clean and very well organized. Not the biggest but it works, the only reason I'm dropping another star is because trainers seem to think they own the gym. While I understand they are there to train people and need to use the equipment to make it happen, holding MULTIPLE machines while not In using them is a pretty asshole move being that the gym is already on the smaller side. I thought gym equipment was supposed to be a first come first serve kind of situation but not in this blink, You are a second class citizen being that you aren't paying for personal trainer sessions. 3 stars. Why? If you're looking for a proper gym that you can workout peacefully without people asking "how many sets you have left?" or "is someone waiting?" Look else where. This gym is a neighborhood gym with bunch of kids working out in slides like they're at their own house and mostly workout in groups. People that don't have gym etiquette. They put their stuffs on another machine while still doing something on other machine or whatever it is their doing so they can say that machine is occupied or reserved. Pisses me off. This particular location is tiny as hell. Feels like an all day rush hours in this gym. Or should i say "rush day?" Don't ever dare to come here from 5-9pm coz its packed like sardines. Some people also don't wipe the machines after use or don't put the plates or dumbbells back to where they belong or simply re-racking the weights. Oh and by the way people here are weight/ dumbbell hoarders. So most of the time you're left with nothing but the heavier dumbbells. Like how you gonna curl 70lbs of dumbbell? Lol The gym is somewhat clean, i see the staffs cleaning and wiping down the machines all the time. Mopping the bathroom. Vacuuming the floors. A lot of machines are broken/ unusable. The Staffs are welcoming. They greet when u sign in and say goodbye when u leave the gym. Locker room is decent. Pretty clean. Tho a lot of members use them without locks and you thought its unused. Staff members are the worst! They clearly need training as far as customer service. I was treated horrible by every single person who picked up the phone. There was an unauthorized charge on my credit card and I need it to know why. After multiple calls and days and disrespect from staff members a manager called me back just to accuse me that demanding to speak to a manager is illegal! I would not be demanding to speak to a manager if staff members were aware of why money is being taken away from credit cards specially with previously canceled membership. 1 star for proximity to my apartment and 1 star for cleanliness & 1 star for cost. First off, I'm very aware that this is a no-frills gym; not expecting Equinox (though I'd certainly welcome it). Here are the main issues: #1- there is NO oxygen in this gym- zero airflow. So forget it if you are running a long run or doing anything other than walking around (which many people do). I joined for the treadmill as I am consistently training for races- it's hard to get any work in here 2- there is one water fountain for the entire gym. When you have the temps at 80 degrees and humid you'd better supply more water. 3- if you aren't in and out by 8am- it gets PACKED. Also to be expected but it makes it kinda gross if you're trying to get a workout in. read more

I signed up for this gym hesitantly June 2018. Blink was very appealing; the price is very reasonable, the location is close to home, and they allow you to bring one guest to work out with. I am a married working mom with young children and was not sure how to commit to going regularly. One parent needs to stay at home to care for the kids and I was not about to buy two gym memberships when my husband is my forever plus one. At that time, the club manager Gabriel (and other managers) listened to our situation and convinced us to sign up with one membership but either of us can go at any given time. I excitedly agreed and made my husband the primary account holder because he is home more often (made sense at that time). I ended up being the primary user. I attended 6-7 days out of the week for one month without issue. Almost every morning I went at 6AM to work out for one hour. I was stopped one day by one of their "mood lifters" Veronica. She gave me a hard time about not being the primary account holder and barred me from going even after I tried to explain to her I had an arranged agreement. It got so bad I spoke with multiple managers who wrote extensive notes on my account in order to allow me to sign in each morning (she ignored these notes). The funny thing is she signed me in every morning for a month prior. Eventually everything was smoothed over after I talked to the club manager who spoke to her. Fast forward 10 months. Now it's April 2019 and there is new management. Serena is enforcing the policy that only primary account holders may bring one guest. Despite multiple notes in my account authorizing me to sign in and even after talking to her in person, she would not budge. I know blink is relatively cheap, but I feel cheated and lied to. They convinced me to sign up under false pretenses that I can actually go under the conditions we agreed on but cannot even uphold their agreement for a year. I can't change the primary account holder's name, and I can't cancel membership without early cancellation feeds. They hook you to sign up but these people don't actually care if you go. I'm done with this gym; I don't need this place to exercise. Majority of people here are very nice but obviously not all. There are only two water fountains and they are downstairs (most of the equipment are upstairs) so bring a water bottle. They occasionally run out of wipes and the machines can get gross. If you go at around 6AM during the weekends, sometimes there are large dust bunnies collected by the machines (not sure why). They deleted my first review so this is my second. read more

Amazing value. The gym is clean, trainers knowledgeable, equipment new / maintained and great price point. I've been a daily regular for 2 years and have no intention of leaving. The only downsides (as mentioned) is that it is overcrowded and only 1 water fountain in the first floor, none on the second. Maybe I'm just too used to sneaking into $250/month studios for my exercise - but seriously, there's no way to conscionably complain here. Blink membership is satisfyingly straightforward: - $15/month to any non-Manhattan location - $20/month for access to all locations except Manhattan ones, plus guest privileges - $25/month for access to all location including Manhattan ones, plus guest privileges - Additional annual fee of $35 or so, charged during your third month Pros: - Clean enough, with staff wiping and dusting regularly. - Most gym goers at this location live nearby, so locker room usage is greatly diminished. So the locker area and bathrooms (at least for women) are spotless and deserted, even when the gym itself is crowded. - People mostly mind their own business and do their own thing. - AGAIN, THAT PRICE! You pay $5 more to double the value of your membership, as long as your guest scans in after you do. I've spent more money eating tacos. Cons: - Hours are crappy and restrictive. They close 11pm on weekdays, 10pm on Fridays, 7pm on weekends. - It's crowded on weekday evenings. Good luck getting much done within an hour - you'll have to wait for other people and go between sets, which is a little inconvenient. - There are 2 Olympic bars in the whole place, both of which are part of larger equipment. So even if you're doing the most basic weight work, you're competing with everyone else doing any weight work of any level. - No plates in denominations less than 5lbs. My gainz are too modest. - Sometimes you will come across members who don't understand that they should wipe down equipment or rerack weights after use. But I assume it's the same with any gym. read more
