Redfish tacos

I got gluten free redfish tacos, and they were really good. We started with cheese dip and a house margarita. Good atmosphere on the patio and great service. Great place for dinner!

We just went to this Pure location after 15 years and must I say it. was fantastic. Like everything. We had fish tacos which were fresh. The green salsa was perfect, tangy and spicy. I usually don't eat mexican rice but theirs is really good and wasn't mushy. Our waiter must have had telepathy because he knew whenever we needed anything. The restaurant and location is a happening area in downtown Alpharetta and they have this small palm tree in the front. They also open up all the panels so you feel like you're on vacation. I ran into a really good former coworker who I haven't seen in a long time which was nice. This place is usually packed on the weekends so we were happy to get a table middle of the week.

Came here instead of cooking before the holidays. Quick service, called ahead since we had a table of 6 and were seated right away. Service we very friendly and efficient, almost no wait for our meal. Drinks were decent, definitely more on the syrup side for the margaritas. Food was also good, everything came out as ordered. Highlight was the guacamole, and friend enjoyed the steak burrito.

I cannot tell you how many times I've been to this taqueria. I remember when the first location opened up back in Alpharetta way back in 2005 and I used to walk to it with my best friend because her and her family lived just around the corner (and we were too young to drive). The food has always been incomparable when it comes to other local Mexican restaurants. Their menu is great because they have their own take on Mexican staples like their quesadillas which are described more like turnovers. It pains me to share this but my favorite dish was actually removed from the menu a while ago. Originally, I was told they were going to become seasonal, but that wasn't the case post-pandemic. Ah, Fritangas de Jaiba, how I miss you so! They were these incredible crab fritters under their appetizer list and they had the most creamy, citrusy/spicy, delicious sauces drenched overtop. *chefs kiss x1000* Now, I typically order their chicken empanadas or the empanadas del dia - they are all great! Their sopa de pollo y limon is their take on chicken tortilla soup and it is also incredible! It has become my favorite soup to pick up if I feel like I'm coming down with a cold, and also just great on a cool winter evening. Their chicken taquitos are great, too. As for the drinks - I literally won't go anywhere else for a margarita. The bar is always full (usually full of regulars), and the drinks don't stop coming. Their skinny margarita is the best I've ever had because it's made with the purest (get it?), simplest ingredients. All I want in a skinny marg is fresh lime juice, agave and good silver tequila and Pure does just that. Their "Skinny Love" is my new favorite with muddled strawberries and basil (sometimes I even sub out the tequila for Tito's). The Sedgwick family owns some of my favorite restaurants around Alpharetta/Milton/Roswell, so I highly recommend checking out any. Pure is a great place to start!

Chilaquiles (fried egg over medium)

A delightful lunch spot, Pure taqueria has fresh and delicious options with plentiful outdoor seating options. Coming from Southern CA, I had mild expectations for Mexican food a little farther from the border, but the chilaquiles were up to par and so beautifully presented! Prices are on the higher side, but correlate with high-quality, fresh ingredients, and it seems consistent with inflation and Alpharetta prices. The salad stood out with an aesthetically pleasing balance of colors and gustatorily satisfying balance of flavors--glad I got to trade for a taste with my family members. The staff generously provided a light and fluffy key lime pie for my grandma's birthday, which I think she preferred over her barbacoa tacos. Service was standard but also with a touch of generosity as mentioned with the complimentary dessert. Outdoor dining was refreshing: despite being right next to the road, the cars were not whipping by too quickly, and the green of GA still shines through. Would definitely want to come back for lunch to enjoy the al fresco dining here.

I have been visiting this location for years & typically the food is good but I do think the service has slipped over the years.

There it is like every corner has a good place... here in Alpharetta/roswell... it is spotty. This is a hidden spot... hidden in plain view but hidden all the same. I must have been past it a dozen times but had never noticed it. The ambiance was nice but simple. It is not 5 star dining... but it is not run down worry what you're getting either. It is a descent place. The service was good... it wasn't busy here... so I think we got a lot of focus for sure. The menu is extensive. Lots of dishes to choose from. My wife always orders the guac when we go to Mexican. I get the queso... I can't stand guac. I mean just look at it... I swear I have too many kids and changed too many diapers to eat anything that looks like this! Anyway once past the aps we got to our meals and I was pleasantly surprise. My boys liked it, I liked it, and my wife liked it! Eureka... a Mexican place that we all enjoyed and it wasn't out of this world expensive! I recommend stopping in and trying a thing or two.. you'll be glad you did!

We came back today and I tried a chimichanga supreme. I ordered what was listed as shredded beef, but as you can see, it's more of a ground beef. I don't care at all because it's delicious! It came with rice, but I gave that to my son because I don't eat the rice and he loves it. He ordered the chimichanga de Carnita and said that the meat was pretty dry and bland by itself, so not as happy as he usually is. The salsa was just as good today as it was before and the food comes out quickly. The service is good, but since you don't get a physical menu and have to scan the barcode and scroll through your phone to look at the menu, they keep coming back too quickly to see if you're ready to order without giving you much of a chance to look to see what's available. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, I personally think the music is a little too loud to hold a conversation because everyone around you is trying to compensate and talk louder.

Fives across the board…read more Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

Wanted to love it…read more The vibes are there, the staff is genuinely lovely, and there's real potential here, we just had a bit of an adventure getting through the meal. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. But I'm rooting for them to get there!
