The gym is spread out across 3 floors with nice views of times square / causeway bay area. I found the machines well maintained and the place was very clean. With all the great amenities that comes with the PURE name, CWB location has one thing working to their favor against other locations, space! Their entrance is located on the 16th floor of the Lee Theater Building, PURE is actually 3 levels!! The first of the 3 levels, the top floor, is mainly reception, lockers, and the food bar. The reception is always super nice and friendly. I request certain lockers in this locations because there are so many lockers, I've just grown accustomed to certain ones. I find the lockers closer to the showers just easier to access and convenient. The staff here never have an issue with helping me on that. The locker room here are equipped with TVs, phone charging stations, work out clothing (including socks) and a good number of showers. There is never a need to wait for a vacant shower stall. The sauna and steam room here is a bit on a small side, but still very clean and accessible. The food bar is tended by some nice staff members that can mix a good shake for you after an intense workout. They also have some nice salads on offer along with wraps and small sandwiches. All fairly healthy choices at a reasonable price. One level down, you will find yourself on the floor where they have one room for their cycling classes and another room for one hour classes with instructors. This is also the section where you will find the boxing training available to you if you'd like. On the last level, you will have your weights and treadmills and cross trainers. There is never a wait for machines here which is great!! I also love that very rarely, you will have someone working out RIGHT next to you. I love the space! There is also a space for you to do your stretches in peace without people walking back and forth. PURE in CWB is ideal for those who want to get a serious work out in your day without feeling cramped. LOVE!

I was advised that there is reciprocity and if you are a member in the US, you can use the facilities in HK, as long as you have your card. When you find the location, take the elevator down one floor to the basement, step out and you walk right into Anytime Fitness. You have to have a membership card to swipe at the door to gain access or according to their front door, there is someone there to help you with questions about their gym starting at 11AM most days during the week. Anytime Fitness is basically a gym that is at your disposal 24 hours a day. I am familiar with Anytime Fitness in the US and I understand their niche, but I was kind of blown away simply by the cleanliness and bright decor of this space. There was barely anyone there, so how great to have this coveted spot to work out in. Antonio (a senior trainer) was helpful to me in answering questions and showing me around. Although I go to a competitor gym for my own gym needs in Hong Kong, know that Anytime Fitness is indeed in Hong Kong (Antonio indicated that this location had been open for about a year and also there are three locations in Hong Kong) and worthy of a peak.

The trainers are highly motivated professionals who will keep you on task and make you passionate about improving your health and lifestyle choices. Not only will they structure, develop, and modify (as appropriate) a workout routine that is adapted to your specific bodily needs and fitness level; they also emphasize nutrition and will work with you on restructuring that part of your life to meet your overall fitness goals. I personally work with Annie Hon, who is fantastic. She will push you hard, but at the same time, she is gifted at identifying where your limits are and won't push you so far that you get frustrated and give up on what you came there for in the first place. As far as the facility goes, it's extensive (2 floors), clean, and spacious for you to work out comfortably without feeling like you're training on top of the other clients who are working out at the same time you are. The only downside is that you cannot use the equipment at their facility when you're not in a training session. (At the same time, this restriction is also a good thing, because it keeps their facility not-so-crowded -- so that you can maximize your use of all the equipment during your training sessions there.) So, to keep up with the training program developed for you by R.A.W.'s trainers, you'll need a separate gym membership, or access to a gym elsewhere. To that end, it can get a little pricey. But in my view, your health, longevity, and wellbeing is worth it.

Review on Fitness Room only…read more Since my California Fitness membership expired and I have been in a flux between jobs, I could not commit to a gym yet and have been getting kind of restless. Lucky for me, the great LCSD (Leisure and Cultural Services Department) has arrangements that perfectly suit my needs! There are government sport buildings scattered all over the city, and they usually come with basketball, badminton, pools, dancing rooms and FITNESS ROOMS, depending on which center you are at. The Smithfield Sports Centre is relatively new, is right next to the Kennedy Town MTR station, and has a decent fitness room, slightly larger than a residential clubhouse fitness room. Only drawback is there is no barbells. (dumbbells yes, up to 60lbs) In order to use the fitness rooms, you have to take some form of course that demonstrates you have sufficient knowledge of training, i.e. you are not stupid and won't injure yourself. It can be either a personal training license, a course offered by a university and the easiest and most common route is to take a "Briefing on the proper use of Fitness Equipment" class, offered by LCSD fitness centers around town. The class is free, and lasts for 3 hours, ending with a multiple choice test at the end. The catch is that it is hard to sign up and courses in accessible areas are usually snatched right when they are released, leaving you with options in outlying islands. But it is worth it, because once you are done, you are set for life to enjoy the fitness rooms across Hong Kong, and it is ridiculously cheap - HK $14 per session or HK$180 for a month, 50% off if you are a full-time student. So yes, some centers are more ghetto than others, with Kennedy town ones being newer and more decent. But your taxes have already paid for this, might as well sign up and show up. I prefer this atmosphere over places like Pure Yoga where you have to stagger your position on the mat so that you don't kick someone in the head. This also allows for more personalised instruction and an intimate setting. The teachers that I have interacted with are all quite friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely want to help. The pricing is quite reasonable as well. Class offerings are geared towards office workers as the class times are usually during lunch time or after work hours. I'm not a novice but definitely not advanced yogi either. The skill level is about right for an intermediate level yogi.
