As said it's small so make sure you book, but be warned it could be a day before they back to you to confirm your booking! But this is just in fitting with the relaxed slightly quirky nature of the place. In terms of surroundings it reminds me a students bedroom with a slightly ethnic feel, and in fitting with this the toilets are freezing in winter! Food wise it's 'proper veggie', all cooked in front of you in the small kitchen in the same room as you eat. The meals are always plentiful, and have always left me happy. The service is always very Malcolm, who is the industrious owner/ chef who zips around the kitchen keeping the operation rolling. Whilst I've always felt the place could descend into chaos at any moment it's clearly all mapped out in Malcolm's head and the food always ends up in front of you. You take your own alcohol, and if you forget there is an off license in the same block of shops where cafe nomad is. If you like chain eateries, must have meat or things to be' just so', then this is not the place for you, but if that's not you then book yourself a table, grab some booze and I'm pretty sure you will have a great night!

This whole Yelpy business can be so fortuitous. Call it serendipity, call it what you will, but I…read moreknow for sure I would never have discovered this gorgeous little eatery had it not been for wordy wanderers - and I'm so glad I did. Mango is a gorgeous wee café-cum-restaurant in the wee town of Wetherby and I decided to pilgrimage out after spotting the recommendation, as my Mum was up to stay last week and I wanted to take her out to lunch. Since she came in the car we decided to make a small trip out, it was only about 25 minutes give or take, and the day was gorgeously sunny. After an amazing little browse of the town, and a fabulous visit to the monthly shoe sale in the town hall, we went in search of Mango. It's up one of the sweet little side streets, where all the buildings are made of what looks like Cotswold Stone - gorgeous sandstone bricks. As soon as we entered we received a hugely warm welcome and took a seat under the stairs in the café area to choose our lunch. I ordered a Massala Chai and I can't tell you how incredible it was. Well, I'm going to try. The lovely lady asked if I'd like them to sweeten it, which I went for since they'd be the experts, and it was delicious. Sweet, but not overly so, spicy with cinnamon and clove, and so warming. Like relaxation therapy in a cup! Given that it was one of the most blustery days I've known (the metal shop signage on all the businesses were swinging like guillotines) it was just what I needed. We had a delightful bit of a natter with the girl who was serving us, as we decided what to eat, and in the end opted for two of the Indian lunch dishes, since that is what they specialise in. And for the carnivores out there - you wouldn't miss the meat one iota. The menu is fabulous! We decided to share the Pav Bhaji and the Indian Special Wrap. Oh my goodness. The Pav Bhaji was a portion of mixed vegetables made into a patty of some kind, complete with a toasted bap, and was utterly flavoursome. The Indian Wrap (almost like a pancake wrap) came complete with the most delicious paneer chunks, potato, a side salad and a portion of mint-yoghurt. It was medium spicy (although they ask how spicy you'd like it) and it was incredibly moreish! I practically inhaled the food, managing (just about) to savour each tasty bite, my only lament being that with each mouthful I was closer to the end. Each mouthful was perfectly balanced with spice, taste and texture and it was the perfect amount to satisfy one for a lunch-time filling. If I get the chance I'd love to come back and try something a little more hefty from their restaurant menu as I'm sure it would be just as impressive. The total came to about £17 for two drinks and two dishes, which is probably more than I'd like to spend, but this is a definitely an instance where we were paying for quality. All in all I couldn't be more pleased that we made the effort to visit - and I highly recommend you do so as well! Love love love it.

I got lost looking for the restaurant after my phone died but finally found my friend at the top of the steps leading down to Earth. Service is set up like a cafeteria, and for just £7 you can pick 4 items from the line (up to 2 "mains".) I think everything in the line and dessert counter is vegan - I was struggling to find dairy/egg items in the menu. I feel like it's more palatable for them to sell themselves as a vegetarian rather than vegan restaurant. I picked up a hearty bean chili atop quinoa, braised cabbage, and a beautiful mushroom pie, in addition to a lime/lemongrass bottled drink and coffee/walnut cake. Portion sizes were huge and you feel very healthy eating the food - the bean chili could have used more seasoning, but the savory mushroom pie was divine! Creamy, savory, and textural, I was surprised at how well they veganized this classic. The cabbage was like tame sauerkraut, which cut the richness of the pie well. The cake was mildly sweet but had a wonderful bitter aftertaste, the scent of ground coffee lingering in my palate long after I finished the last bite. I had a taste of my friend's raw blueberry cheesecake and we had quite a bit of fun trying to guess what they made it out of. It was alright - I would've wanted to try the raw tiramisu, if they had it.
