My daughter and I have been seeing Dr. Ma for several years now. He came highly recommended by a…read morefamily friend, and we're both very happy to have him as our dentist. I, for one, do NOT like going to the dentist in general, but Dr. Ma always finds a way to make me feel at ease and comfortable when getting much needed dental work done. In addition, the dental hygienists are very friendly, and we enjoy a quick chat before they get started, which is fun! I cannot say enough good things about the receptionist, Angela, she is absolutely wonderful, welcoming and professional. It's always a pleasure to see her upon arrival, not to mention how easy she makes it to work out appointment rescheduling or billing issues.

08/08/2025 Office experience was terrible. I have a bit of dental anxiety and let's face it, the…read moredentist can be a bit scary. I was referred to an oral surgeon after several dentists explained that in order to remove my 2 bottom impacted wisdom teeth it would have to be done under anesthesia due to the location and how one is completely impacted horizontally into the gums and will require the removal of a bit of jaw bone/cartilage. I went in for my consultation and Dr Nguyen was super nice and I explained that I have anxiety about this procedure but she assured me it would be fine & I was scheduled to come in the following week to have the surgery done. I arrived a half an hour early just to iron out any issues or in case I had last minute questions. My fiancé had told me to make sure they were planning to give me anesthesia for the surgery. I asked the person at the front desk and they said that they were actually only going to use "local anesthetic" aka Novocain shots & that I didn't need anything more than that. I started to panic because I was expecting to be at the very least given sedation (laughing gas) The employee (Angela) started to talk down to me saying in an extremely snarky tone of voice "if you're already having THIS much anxiety before the procedure then maybe you're just not ready for it" and I replied that I'm having anxiety about undergoing a major oral surgery without any anesthesia or sedation. So she told me to sit and wait while she went to talk to the oral surgeon (Dr Phuong N Nguyen) when she came back from speaking to the Dr she informed me that they would give me the nitrous oxide/laughing gas but that now they would only be able to take out 1 wisdom tooth & not the other more severely impacted tooth, for that one I would have to schedule a separate appointment and go through another surgery and a second time being put under anesthesia/sedation. I explained that I wouldn't be able to take off work a second time because I have a small home daycare & I asked her to explain to me why they were willing to remove BOTH wisdom teeth without any anesthesia or sedation but now that I was asking for the bare minimum sedation (laughing gas) they could only do 1 at a time now. She got very upset and told me that since I don't trust them that I should just go somewhere else to get it done. I went on to write an honest review of the office and in doing so the employee (Angela) then took it upon herself to use my private medical information to locate my small home daycare online and in retaliation for my review she gave my business (which she's had zero interactions) a 1 star review. This is against their own policy listed on their website which states that they will not retaliate in any way if you make a complaint to them or to the Department of Health. This is extremely unethical if not illegal.

I changed my insurance, and unfortunately this office was no longer able to accept me, which I…read moreunderstood. I decided to establish care with a new dentist, and I was very disappointed to find out that I had cavities developing in areas that are difficult to reach with regular brushing, including around old fillings. What was most frustrating was that during my visits here, I was always told, "Great job brushing," and I was never informed of any concerns or areas that needed closer attention. It also felt like the office was more focused on scheduling my 6-month follow-up appointments than on thoroughly addressing my dental health and providing clear communication about my care. I had referred family and friends to this office, and unfortunately, they experienced similar issues. Communication and follow-up are very important when it comes to dental care, and I feel this was lacking. The office staff also did not provide a welcoming experience, and there seemed to be constant staff changes during the time I was a patient. I initially overlooked that, but combined with my overall experience, it contributed to my disappointment. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience and would not recommend this office based on my concerns with communication, consistency, and the level of care I received.

I contacted this location to schedule a routine cleaning as a new patient and inquired whether my…read moreinsurance was accepted. The staff member collected my information but ultimately stated she was unsure if my insurance was accepted and that someone would follow up the next day. By the end of the following day, I had not received any call, text, or update. I reached out again and went through the same process, only to be given the same response. I asked whether I had reached a call center or the office directly and was informed that I was speaking with the office. I explained that this was my second time experiencing the same interaction. I was then told that during my initial call, my information was likely not documented, which was quite concerning. I requested to speak with a manager. Shortly after, the same staff member returned to the line and stated that my insurance was, in fact, accepted--an answer that only came after I requested escalation. I reiterated my request to speak with a manager, at which point Carla identified herself as the manager. Carla attributed the initial issue to a call center, but when I pointed out that I received the same response during my follow-up call, she explained that the staff member was new. Unfortunately, Carla did not demonstrate a sense of accountability or urgency regarding the situation. Her response conveyed that this experience was not a significant concern, which was disappointing and did not reflect a high standard of customer service. Overall, this experience left me with little confidence in the organization's communication and administrative processes.

After moving back to the NOVA area, I was happy to get back to Lake Ridge Dental Care!…read more There are alot of dentists out there but once you meet the dentists & staff here, you'll realize you've found the best! If you have any gum issues DR FISHER CANT BE BEAT & Dr Karbasi is always caring and will answer any questions you may have. While some of the hygienists do come and go and have their own way of doing cleanings etc, you know what you'll get with Dr. Fisher & Dr. Karbasi which is most important, their chair-side manner is TRULY the very best!!!

I've hesitated to write this review, but after two years, I think it's time to share my experience…read more My family and I were patients here for over eight years, and while things started off great, the quality of care and professionalism gradually declined. It began with noticing that cleanings were becoming rushed and incomplete -- sometimes it felt like no real cleaning was done at all. Over time, that lack of thoroughness became the norm. The final straw came with a serious issue involving a financing plan for my son's treatment. Although I agreed to an 18-month, no-interest plan, the office enrolled me in a 24-month plan with 26% interest. It took me four stressful weeks and numerous calls and emails (many unanswered) to get it fixed. At one point, I was even told the account could only be canceled if I opened a new one, which felt coercive and unprofessional. As a Deaf patient, I rely on email communication, yet messages often went ignored. Two years later, I still haven't received the final statement or an explanation for the mysterious $125 credit that I was supposedly owed. Our new dentist also questioned the amount of work that was recommended here -- and several of my son's fillings had to be redone because they had fallen out, costing us $750 out of pocket. I'm sharing this so others know to review their paperwork carefully, confirm financing terms, and keep all communication in writing.
