I tried my first class tonight and it was nothing short of great. I believe the instructors name is Sam and she was a beast and strong lol. The moves were challenging and I could tell I'd be a beast too if I continue her classes. The class went fast, but I felt all 50 minutes. I signed up for a package deal of classes. They slowly disappeared from my account without using them. When I confronted the studio they replaced them only for it to happen again. I guess I'm better off. Not sure who would want to do a workout on small, carpeted room with one window anyway. read more

I took the $99/mo unlimited classes new client deal from mind body app. OMG, I'm a serious exerciser, and I do cycling religiously, taught kickboxing, did hot yoga...but this, is a different type of muscle fatigue and toning altogether. I've just clicked in my 5th class and I can feel my butt, thighs, abs and posture seriously changing! This is so very addicting. The studio is beautiful, clean, modern and the instructors are top notch. I love how technique-based these movements and workouts are. I've done two other types of Barre yoga that is more free form and I can definitely tell that Pure Barre sets themselves apart as the serious, athletic, scientifically studied isometric movements and sequencing. Whew, I signed up for the first free class and boy-o-boy it felt like the spark I needed to get back to exercising. I expected to be sore however I did not like the fact that with Pure Barre's persistent contact no one mentioned how the upcoming classes were not beginners class. I voiced my concerns through their text contacting service and I was invited to try a Foundations Class that following weekend. The Classics class was really fast and upbeat but I couldn't hear the instructor. The foundations class was smooth and slower pace. I would strongly suggest requesting a foundations class as the first class. Unless you want to expected more like I was because I had the reverse. Beyond sweet and helpful trainer as well as front desk attendant! It was a warm welcome the second I entered. Attended the free class which was like the foundations class. You will definitely feel the burn but it's a great workout and very easy on my joints! Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

This is one of the best places to go workout. Their method and staff is amazing. I've had nothing but fun in the classes with a lot of work. The class is so effective that I lost weight doing it. I was in Tampa for work and decided to check out this location since I was a member of a CA location. Similar to the location in my neighborhood the front staff is fantastic! Very warm, friendly and sweet. The instructors were knowledgeable and had their routine down. I highly recommend Barre for those who want strength, toning and results! I took their FREE class, I had to change nights, so when I got there I purchased their $16 socks that are totally unnecessary and since I changed nights they charged me TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for my free class. The class was good, but I'm looking for more cardio, and they REFUSE to return my money... will only give me a free class. The interesting thing is they admit that it is their fault, and say it's really hard to get money refunded. I've asked for the corporate number on several occasions.... I just finished a fantastic class with Jackie (sp?) and was about to give Pure Barre New Tampa under new management (grand re-opening this weekend) the benefit of the doubt by upgrading my rating to 4-stars, but then I received lazy customer service from Hattie (chalk it up to youth and inexperience?). As class ended, we were told to reserve our spot for next weekend's classes and that a Pure Barre staff member would be happy to do so for us. After class, Jackie was busy helping another client, so I asked Hattie to help me out. Instead, she referred me to their app. Needless to say, I felt a little brushed off. As I sat down to use the app on my phone to sign up, I noticed Hattie loudly talking to another client about backbends while Jackie signed up another client for next weekend. I guess you could call me lazy, but they offered and why not save their clients the trouble? Perhaps this was a fluke as Jackie was obviously kindly helping other clients and I have always received the best service from Jessica. However, this unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. It seems like this location offers more specials than they used to, which is a pro, but the deals don't seem to be as impressive as the ones I used to receive at Carrollwood. I am still willing to come back, so you can see that I have not lost hope for them yet. read more

I started going to Pure Barre when I found out I was pregnant. I'm now 25 weeks and have loved this form of exercise as a safe but challenging way to stay fit during pregnancy. I've mostly attended classes with Nicole who is an incredible instructor! She shows me how to modify the moves so that they are safe but still challenging. She is also incredibly encouraging throughout the classes. Highly recommend for any expectant mothers (just make sure you give them a heads up if you are pregnant). read more

Pure Barre is my new favorite workout! I decided to try it out on a whim from using a Groupon. I loved it so much that I decided to stick with it! All of the instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. They are there to help and always make sure you have the perfect form to receive your best results. The exercises always change up from day-to-day and you never get bored. So happy I decided to try it out! read more
