I've loved the few times I've been to BC and their Lakeland events, but today really made me…read moreappreciate this place. I went to a 5:30 barre class and during the warmup began feeling very lightheaded. I hadn't eaten enough, and I just realized it. I sat down a couple time during the class (which felt especially awkward since there were only 3 people in class) because I feared I'd pass out. This happens a lot to me, but it's not fun. I felt the color flush from my cheeks. The instructor checked on me quietly to make sure I was fine, and had the front desk attendant follow up. I was eating nuts in the lounge area and the front desk girl offered me an ice pack and protein bar. I took the bar and ate it but still wasn't feeling well. She checked on me again and offered to give me a free class pass so I could come back and actually enjoy the workout. She cleaned up my mat and equipment for me and told me to feel better. As someone who's fainted at concerts, doctor's offices, fast food restaurants, and everywhere else, I know how embarrassing it can be. These ladies made me feel so comforted!!! They kept class going so I didn't feel like a distraction, made sure I was okay and ensured I'd be back to appreciate the class another day. Love this community of kind hearted women!

So I've been trying out different fitness locations and this one was close to home so I decided to…read moretry it out. I signed up for the hot yoga class at around 10am a couple Sundays ago. The location is right off the street so it's really easy to park near the parking garage and walk around to the front. When I walked in I noticed a clean lobby area with merchandise to sell. It was clean and tidy and well lit. I always love to walk into a clean lobby area especially before a fitness class. I met the person at the desk who happened to be the teacher and she had me fill out a waiver since it was my first time and she also introduced me to the studio space. She explained a little about what the various supplies were for and where the bathroom was. Now, there were only 4 other students in the class which was so great to get that personalized experience and she was a great yoga instructor. The only reason im giving it 4 stars is because when I saw "hot yoga" I thought I would be dripping with sweat. Instead, there were three space heaters along the wall that really didn't translate to hot yoga at all. But I want to give credit to the teacher who was a great instructor and I would be more than willing to come do their barre classes or other courses available! I would recommend for sure! But if you're looking for that sweaty hot yoga session, this wouldn't be the place.

I tried out my first class which was free, and there were only a few other ladies at the 6am class,…read moreso I got a lot of personal attention and guidance from the instructor, Elizabeth. The class started with a 10 minute warm up followed by 3 15-minute "blocks" of activities that focused on arms, legs, and core strength. We then finished with some light stretching and yoga poses. I was expecting more exercises using the bar given the studio name, but we only used it for the 15 minutes working on the thigh exercises. As a first time visitor with no experience in ballet, I was still able to keep up and perform the exercises. I especially appreciated how Elizabeth gave many tips on good form and which muscles to focus on, but I would've liked if she had provided modified versions of the activities (she only offered more difficult variations). Overall, the class had very balanced, holistic exercises that would be great for runners, climbers, and anyone looking for hip-opening exercises or ways to develop more well-rounded strength. Membership is $139/month ($125/month for students), and after the free first class, there is also a $49 2-week trial option. Those options include unlimited classes, but you can also get 6-class and 8-class packs for about $100-125.

The workouts are fire! You don't realize how hard you're working when you are literally moving in inch increments. The instructors are incredibly helpful with your form, so you constantly get the best workout, leading to the best results. Night and day difference. I absolutely love this studio; I love these girls and love this community! If you are looking for something new, looking to be challenged, a new community of uplifting, powerful individuals, then look no further. You already found it. I am not going to lie; these classes are not easy, but you can do it, and no one wants an "easy" workout. People of all ages and all sizes take these classes. We may be at different levels of our workouts, but everyone is 100% capable of doing PB. The magic is in the small, tiny, INCH (literally an inch, think of a ruler, an INCH) movements. The way you build muscle and core strength overtime is insane! I can't explain it; you just have to do it. Each class is different than the day before keeping classes exciting and not burned out. Each class is about 50 mins long and I promise, you will be 'inching' for more, later. If you read this entire review, just take a class. I know you're hooked :)

Like hearing the instructor over the music, understanding how to transition into certain moves, and of course not know that Black Barre Challenge can only be completed if you completed it every month of the whole year. To start with they have something called a "Foundations" class. The goal is teach you the basics done throughout a "Classic" Barre class. Im assuming also that you should have an idea of their infamous position "the tuck" somewhat down by the time you leave. There is a tour and you should leave with a basic understanding of Pure Barre is about. At this class they should probably go over in depth the "Black Barre Challenge". I didn't know about this until I was two months into the studio. I left the class thinking that was simple but I knew they advertised as a gym that is "high intensity, with low impact". Low impact was essential since I am still healing from a spinal injury. Here lies the issue there are tons of bending and twisting motions that have to completed during classes. Which consist of: Classic: Basic Total Body Workout Empower: All about the Cardio Reform: All the Resistance Feels I was getting discouraged because I wasn't feeling a lot of the moves at the bar because I couldn't bend far. Therefore I was happy after talking to my Orthopedic surgeon about the difficulties I was facing. He explained its because I haven't been rehabilitated fully yet. After physical therapy I will be ready to go and could start rebuilding my core with Barre! Happy to hear the news because I specifically went on a monthly membership which I was told I "COULD CANCEL AT ANYTIME". BTW when you sign the documentation it's all on their computer so DO NOT take the representatives word on explaining how the membership works. It's a 31 day process. You will be out of a months dues. To give you an idea if their membership is 169.00. When I first called to email their emails came back with delivery issues and now than there is just a game of phone tag back and forth. Today the pulled for the FULL amount of dues after playing phone tag back and forth the past three weeks. In all honesty I'm just so disappointed with this studio. I would've returned after six weeks of PT had they just cared about their customers enough to call or email us back.

Pure Barre is such an amazing and unique workout option! It's a perfect low impact type of exercise…read morewhile still being extremely challenging and helping you reach your fitness goals. As a former college athlete, once I got into the real world I became pretty burnt out with traditional workouts, and especially running and heavy weight lifting, as that's all I did my entire athletic career. I was having a hard time finding a rhythm and enthusiasm for being active, up until my friend invited me to try a class here at Pure Barre. There are several different class formats at Barre, but all are fairly easy to learn, especially if you tell the instructor you are newer. The traditional format is the most common, and the only equipment you use is a small yoga ball, a band and 2-3lb dumbbells, which are already at the studio for you to use. There is no high-impact exercising that is hard on your body or joints. Everything in these classes are small, focused movements that don't seem like they should be that challenging, but they definitely burn your muscles. Even using 2lb dumbbells for a 50 minutes class you WILL build and tone muscle and get stronger. It feels so good. It's also amazing to be in a class format, surrounding by others who are grinding through the class with you. The instructors will walk around and give you one-on-one adjustments to make sure you form is correct so you won't hurt yourself and so that it's most effective. I'm really, really happy to have tried out Pure Barre and it's become a part of my routine. If you haven't ever done a Barre class, you will need sticky socks and there's no shoes allowed in the studio. They do have socks for loan at the front desk if you want to just come and try out a class first. Jennifer, Evy, Lauren, Nicole and the crew are so awesome!!

Firstly, I'd like to say, the instructors here were very kind and seemed knowledgeable. The very few classes I attended did provide a decent workout. However, there are a few things that they fail to inform you when signing up. One class I signed up for was not included in the unlimited membership I had. I wasn't informed about this until roughly 40 minutes before my class (past the cancellation time) even though there was almost 24 for them to inform me about it. The class that was not included in the highest membership they offered me was $35. I called and informed them that I was not aware of this when I booked the class, no one ever informed me, and I won't be able to attend that day. I was told that I will be charged the $15 no show fee still, which was later refunded to me as credit to their shop. I then informed the receptionist that I would like to cancel my membership. What they don't tell you when you sign up is that they require a 30 day cancellation notice. I was not offered the opportunity to read the contract at sign up, and was told it would be emailed to me. But, I never received the email. Due to their 30 day cancellation notice, even though I never stepped foot on their property again, they still charged me for another month. $149 - the highest membership they offered me at the time of sign up. When I called to pay it the receptionist failed to take my card information completely, forgetting to ask me for the expiration date which I realized a few moments after the call. She called me back stating my card was declined and asked for me another card instead of admitting to her fault. She was very rude and as someone who works in customer service, this was a very unprofessional way to speak to someone about their money. So overall, I would not recommend this location to anyone because of the major lack of communication, hidden fees, and lack of professionalism that I experienced.
