The disuse of the muscles due to pain has caused a lot of problems with my shoulders, hips and plenty more. I've spent a fortune over the years going to massage, PT and Chiropractic only to ever get temporary relief. I went to The Club with hopes of developing long lasting strength and stability. During my initial consultation the owner said right off the bat that Jesse was the right fit for me. His training and credentials were impressive and we got started right away. Turns out he was right. Based off the intake and symptoms I described, Jesse knew exactly what to focus on and developed an individualized plan to fit my needs all the while being aware of my limitations. I've been training for a little over a month now and I couldn't be happier where things are at. There was a pain between my shoulder blades that I thought would always be there that doesn't hurt at all. My low back is more stable and is holding up longer and longer. Im doing exercises I never thought myself to be able. For the first time in my life I feel hopeful that having a ton of pain might not be a lifelong issue which every doctor and specialist has told me it would be. Aside from my personal experiences...the gym itself is great. The equipment and machines are all kept in great condition. The gym isn't very big but they have everything you need and it's perfect for a personal training gym. I've never had to wait for a machine or piece of equipment. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. And I think that covers everything. Like I said...only good things to say about this gym. Worth every penny.

With his guidance and training, I no longer am getting cortisone shots in both hips, am much stronger and leaner than women much younger than myself. Everyone is professional and I never have any hesitation about training with anyone else in the event Steven is not available. Boot camp on Saturdays are complimentary for anyone, member or not, and the weekends just wouldn't be the same without it!

I found my people here at CrossFit Gig Harbor! I started my CrossFit journey about 4 years ago here at CrossFit Gig Harbor. At first I was intimidated by how strong and athletic everyone was and wasn't sure about myself. But the coaches and members were so welcoming! The coaches knew exactly how to evaluate where I was in my athletic abilities. They modified the workouts to fit where I was and made sure to remind me that every single person starts at a different place and you set goals for yourself and can't possibly compare yourself to others. The members/community are so amazing! Everyone was, and is, so positive and supportive. They're all there to pump you up and cheer you on! I could be having a bad day and not feeling my workouts, but that doesn't matter to anyone. You show up, put in your work, and give it everything you've got in that moment. I've set goals for myself and have learned that advanced movements take time. They emphasize the importance of doing a movement correctly for your own safety and that of others. But this also helps you to be able to advance and be better than you were the day before. It's not about how much weight you can throw up or down if you're in pain because you're doing it poorly. It's about being smart and safe while gaining strength at the same time. About 2 years into my journey, I became pregnant. I just started to feel like I was really getting somewhere and gaining so much strength and then had to start dialing it back for the safety of our little guy. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable in training pregnant women. Even thought I felt as though I could do 'more', they knew what was best and guided me accordingly, while ensuring that any instruction from my doctor would also be followed. I was able to workout 4 days a week throughout my pregnancy. I ended up putting on 35 total pounds. My delivery didn't come close to the birth plan I had set forth and ended with an emergency c-section. I thought this would delay my return to the gym, but it didn't. I started back 4 weeks later with just 'moving'. No weights, no strain, just showing up to be back to reality a little. I needed this for my own sanity to help overcome some postpartum depression. As new parents, my husband and I were a little lost. The community here at CrossFit Gig Harbor was there to help us and let us know that we were doing great as parents! I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight 8 weeks later. I'm 13 months postpartum and in better shape now than I was pre-pregnancy. The programming and support of this community is amazing! I look forward to seeing every one of their smiling faces. I am thankful for David and the community he has brought together. If you are unsure about CrossFit or are scared to try something new and on your own, don't be. Come join us! Sweat, have fun, get strong, and make new friends! You just need to walk in the door and you've made the first step of many more to come!

Super Studios has helped me fall in love with fitness and health. Before going I was confused and…read moreoverwhelmed with everything fitness. Am I doing it right? Am I working this muscle group enough? Super studios makes sure you leave there definitely feeling like every muscle group has been worked! The classes are small, and the instructors are very nice! I danced for 15 years and so I knew that Barre stood for a ballet barre, so I assumed it had to be some type of exercise studio. All of the ladies that work here are super friendly. They have a lot of really great packages and programs. Student discounts, Corporate discounts (if you can get five people to sign up), and New Client Memberships. I decided to try it out and purchased a drop in class which was $18.00. Man! This is not for the faint of heart. I had to modify most of the exercises, and had to take multiple breaks the first couple of weeks. I have always been a pretty active person. I played basketball in college (DII NCAA), and danced. I had been doing CrossFit for 10 months, but had taken a break from it due to multiple surgeries. I also didn't like how bulky I got doing CrossFit or that my WOD only took 20 minutes, and I felt like I hadn't worked out long enough. Barre is completely different. It is very challenging! This is not some Zumba class at your local Y. It is a full hour of circuit style barre/yoga/pilates style exercises. You will get your cardio! Don't worry! You will not stop moving for an entire hour. I love that I get a full body workout and my cardio in an hour. The same workout would take 2 hours of weights and then a two mile run just to get the same feeling. As a mother, I don't have three hours a day to spend at the gym. Barre provides variety to avoid muscle memory, and every class is different. I have been taking all of the 12 o'clock classes during my lunch hour (with the exception of Tuesdays). There are different instructors on different days, but even if you get the same person leading the class the workout is ALWAYS different. I usually have class with Trish or Elizabeth's, and I have done one 4:30 class with Dena. Love all of their styles. They are great. Elizabeth and Trish give modifications and really guide you to challenge yourself, and not give up. I literally feel addicted. I am coming 5 times a week, and I can tell on the days when I don't go that I missed a workout. This isn't a fad workout program, and there are a bunch out there. It is hard work, but if you do it, you wil get the results you want and better! I knew the first time I walked into class and saw a small group of women that looked like dancers that I was in the right place. Not because I look like a dancer, but because I want to look like one! lol I already feel leaner and more flexible. Just try a drop in class, you will be hoooked! It is great, tons of fun, and you will be back.
