I needed something that was different, challenging and fun. This PB studio will let you take your first class for free. I thought it would be a breeze to get through it, but it wasn't! I was challenged the entire time - activating deep muscles that I didn't realize I wasn't fully using! Don't let the "low-impact" aspect of these workouts fool you into thinking they're easy. The exercises are challenging and get you moving in ways that promote flexibility, balance and strength. If you're a UF student or employed by UF in any fashion, you're eligible for a discount! I purchased the Groupon 3 months prior to my wedding to get into shape. It was a great deal! Great environment, friendly staff, and awesome workout. Once that month was completed, I was offered a first month deal, $99 for the first month. I NEVER signed a contract. I was told it was a first month only deal. Once that was complete, I went to another gym, due to a month membership costing me $150. On my next credit card statement, I noted that I was being charged a monthly membership of $149, that I never signed up for. After contacting the location 4 times via phone, I spoke to a young lady who said she would bring this to the owner's attention and will cancel the membership (which I never signed up for). Fast forwarding to my next month credit card statement release, I was yet again charged another monthly membership fee of $149 (which I never signed up for...). After calling the location AGAIN 4 times and leaving multiple voicemails, nobody returned my call. I got to the point where I was calling the location about once a week and leaving a voicemail each time. Close to my next credit card statement, I finally got ahold of Erica. At this point, I had another pending membership charge (so a third charge for a membership that I never signed up for). She stated that she will bring this up to owner's attention, she will cancel the membership (again, never signed up for a membership), and she stated that I signed a contract the when I signed the safety liability paperwork... She also informed me that they rarely check messages and the best way to contact the owner is via email... Coming to a conclusion, after about 12 phone calls, 8 voicemails, and 5 emails later, I have been charged 3 times for membership I never signed up for... **Yes, this is Great place to work-out. The work-out was one of the best work-outs I have had, BUT horrrrriibbbllle management!!!! They aren't as honest as they appear to be! They said I would get a student discount when I attended a free class. When I sent in my cancelation notice within 30 days because I can't attend their classes, I am being told that I am locked in for 3 months. I didn't even receive a phone call just an email stating what the agreement says, not even an apology for their employee giving the wrong information. I told them from the beginning that I was going have a surgical procedure and that I was a single mom, they assured me canceling would not be a problem. read more

I've been attending Pure Barre here for a little under six months, and it's safe to say I love it! The staff is super friendly, the studio is clean, and the classes are well-managed. On my first visit, the instructor reviewed the basic terms/moves with me before the class started. This was helpful, but the first class was still a blur. I definitely felt a little behind until my 5th or 6th class, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't click right away. Also, the instructors provide corrections during the class, so they'll help you if you don't get it right the first time. At this point, classes are challenging and even better now that I'm familiar with the Pure Barre vocabulary and move sets. I get a great workout but am not left feeling completely dead for the day, and I've noticed a ton of muscle definition in my arms and legs appear over the past few months. Pure Barre Gainesville is an exceptional work out studio. Here you will get a total body workout. Through out class, you will be lifting, toning and burning your seat, thighs, abs and arms. Each session of class works your muscle groups to fatigue, then stretches them back to create a long and lean look. Pure Barre's primary methodology is to use isometric movements to create high intensity, low impact workouts that creates results. On a personal note, this form of exercise not only caters to my physical, but also to my emotional well being. I have never had a bad workout or have been disappointed for coming into this studio. Due to Covid-19, I have taken classes from my personal space through Zoom live-stream. For me, this has worked out. I didn't want to give any stars for this location but you can't post without one. Customer service--the WORST! You call and leave message after message and never a reply. I finally called and actually a person answered. I inquired about my daughter's account being charged when she requested to cancel. The answer was oh I have to talk to the manager. With an assurance someone would call me back--nobody ever called. I've emailed them, called them, left messages. And never the courtesy of a reply. Started taking class at Pure Barre Gainesville to get back into a healthier lifestyle, and I absolutely LOVE it. The instructors are more than kind and encouraging- I always leave feeling 10x better than I did when I walked in. Classes are about 50 minutes and consistent of a (surprisingly intense) warmup, and an arms, thighs, seat, and core section. Classes are simple enough to follow along if you're new, yet difficult enough to make you feel challenged no matter how long you've been going! I've only just began, but I've been able to see a difference in my body and see myself get a little stronger with every class I take. Highly recommend!!! read more

Love this place after only taking two classes so far! The quaint environment is very simple yet beautiful, boutique-esque and inviting- never thought I'd say that about a fitness center! Right when you walk in, you're greeted by your instructor who is eager to check you in and walk you through the process of what you may need or any questions you may have. Also, both were very sweet and remembered by name at the end of the class. The class was a mix yoga, Pilates, plyometrics, with a touch of ballet. That being said...I am sore all over! The class is 55 minutes and they go by very quickly for me. I definitely will be returning! The only reason I give the business 4 stars is because it's kind of expensive for a monthly membership. But other than the price, everything is top notch! read more

I've heard SO much about pure barre and how amazing the workout is. I finally joined and I'm so happy I did. The classes are extremely challenging but the instuctors make you feel very comfortable. This place sounds nice, but be aware. If you're late by even two minutes, they lock the doors and charge you $20 per time. You also don't get to participate that same day. It's a really terrible way to make money off of Students. read more
